No intention of insulting or offending any one here because I feel you've all got some intelligent and helpful things to say, but recent events have confirmed to me what a waste of time bickering and disagreeing is. I know I'm suffering grief still and a huge amount of stress, but I'm finding some of the threads hard to follow and the helpful points hard to pick out because of all the other arguments and stuff that is going on. As I said I 'm not judging or trying to insult anyone, just would be nice if we all respected each other's views and kept to the point. Can't say I havn't been free of doing this sometimes, but perhaps brain fog is bad and as I said all the helpful points are getting lost to me among a lot of stuff I can't follow. Sorry guys need to keep things a bit simpler for me at present.. Love to you all Tracy. P.S Doing pretty crap, sleep and nightsweats a huge problem any helpful hints would be much appreciated.

Large doses of Vitamin C helped my nightsweats a lot. It's the only thing that helped them. I used both ascorbic acid C and calcium ascorbate, probably a full gram every 4-5 hours or so, for weeks. They eventually subsided, probably due to chelation. I do know for sure mine were due to mercury poisoning however.

Vogel's Nature Doctor book states that 'when a feverish condition exists, the natural therapy method requires that first of all the bowels be thoroughly cleansed.'

He goes on to discuss herbal enemas and natural laxatives. He mentions goldenrod,, horsetail, parsley, rosehips.

And of course from my own collection, there is always feverfew, so named for a reason, use orally, not in an enema.

You can get more info on any of those items in various places on the net.

Thanks, will look them up and give the natural remedies a go. Unfortunately I am very allergic to vitamin C so that's not an option for me. It's weird because this is something I had never realised until I was tested for it last year, but even when very fit and well would have an allergic reaction to eating oranges, so I just didn't eat them. I 've seen a few posts from different people saying they have a sensitivity to this vitamin. Makes you wonder why. It's very bizarre. But thanks for the other tips. I feel if I could crack the nights, days would be a lot easier. Love Tracy x

I agree Tracy, some of them are getting downright ridiculous and not at all related to mercury/amalgam discussions. I hope it doesn't discourage any new mercury sufferers from joining in discussions.

I started using milk thistle and chlorella at night before bedtime, it helped me tremendously, I sleep better and wake up feeling not so crummy in the morning.

Funny I have heard of other mercury sufferers that are sensitive to vitamin C, I wonder what is that is all about?

Hope this helps,
Sandi

I agree totally. Too much of the religious/political/personal debating on here that seems to be souring a few threads. We already had a thread for that, but just wasn't enough I guess. In fact, Russ has forums for these arguments alone, but they are barely used.

Anyway, Tracy I know someone who is allergic to vitamin C too. My Mum's husband. He cannot handle it either. It can happen to some people. He stays away from it.

I had some problems with proper vitamin C when it was encouraging more elimination of mercury from my tissues, but I knew what it was. Only reason it did that was because the mercury had already been pulled into accessible areas by a DMPS IV injection and didn't take much to encourage further elmination. I gather vitamin C can do that sometimes.

It is not a chelator though I dont think, but it's action can encouarage some mercury detox when that mercury is in areas where it's easier to move/remove. It also helps with gluathione levels (which is needed for detox).

But if you cannot handle it and you are certain of allergy, then for sure I'd leave it well alone. You can get enough vitamin C from tomatoes and other veges etc.

Thanks Bex, I didn't realise Elvis was female, feel awful now because I've always refered to Elvis as Guy! I just feel like I'm wasting my breath, because you know I don't mean to upset anyone, but things always seem to be taken the wrong way. Just felt strongly that I had to stick up for Sandi, maybe Elvis got her confused with someone else. Always prepared to give the benefit of the doubt. Anyway going to try some suggested stuff for sleep and see what happens. Love to you mate and don't leave, you would be an enormous loss to everyone, all you've ever done is try and help and are appreciated by many . Love always Tracy x

I can't see how anyone can be allergic to vitamin c. Allergy to citrus is pretty common, but not an allergy to vitamin c itself. There are forms of vitamin c that are not from citrus. You might even want to look for synthesized vitamin c that is not even from a plant source. It is typically the cheapest vitamin c available.

Actually this forum is immensely positive, when people make threads and are ready to lose it I always find positive comments from everyone

What you can do is just not click the threads where there is debating of touchy issues
Discussing when there are very different views has to be by default more aggressive, and I'd rather have that than hypocrisy self-apologetic arguing pretending to be nice. It is boring and pointless, people should say what they think

However if your post is referring to threads where people are in trouble, then yes you are completely right

Aint wasting another ounce of mental or physical energy. Many other original people on this forum have left this week. An immense shame . Logging out for good except to post the loving people. Had enough wasting my breath., rather concentrate on getting well.

Tracy I have to admit I'm upset now. Why would people want to leave here? Things have got contentious on one or two threads. The rest are still about mercury, alternative medicine, etc. If people don't like reading about some of the topics in those one or two threads then they don't have to read them. I don't read threads here that I'm not interested in. The support and knowledge here, as well as the general focus on the topic, are still very much present. I don't know why people would be so easily put off by a few posts or a few posters. I feel like I am being blamed (I assume I am included in this) for sensitive people getting hurt and leaving because I'm saying something way out of line, or colluding in such discussions. I'm sorry but I just don't understand. We are OK to get off topic in some threads, yes?

I was about to post the same as Kriminal...is it citrus or Vit C? I've never heard of anyone being allergic to Vit C (not to say it can't happen)

Perhaps I should say a few words, so please bear with me, since I don't believe "moderating" is one of my skills.

First, on behalf of both Russ and I, I'd like to thank everyone for all the positive and helpful information so many of you have shared on our Amalgam Fillings/Mercury Poisoning Forum.

Russ has been absent from the forum for the most part of the past 2 weeks, due to a series of computer problems we've been having here in our office. Unfortunately, these problems have taken all of his time and then some, which is why he has not been able to be online.

I do expect Russ to be able to return to the forum shortly. I just wanted to let everyone know that he has been away temporarily with good cause.

In the meantime, I do hope everyone will take a moment to reflect on all the good they've given and received. I'm aware of the few threads that have been somewhat contentious of late, and I realize that some people may have felt hurt or offended.

Please remember we are ALL human and, like I told my nephew recently, most of us have both a "good side" and a "bad side". Unfortunately, mercury seems to enhance the "bad side" and can make us act and react in ways that can be detrimental to ourselves, as well as others.

I do hope that those of you who feel you need to "take a break" so-to-speak, will rejoin us soon. Please know that you are valued and will be missed.

This might be a good time for all of us to take a moment and re-read Russ' post at the top of the forum about "Conflict and Kindness." This is not meant to be a reprimand, but rather an encouragement to all of us to "be the best we can be".

Mercury has damaged and stolen from most of us on this forum, to one degree or another. I have tremendous sympathy for those of you who are struggling with your health, especially since I have battled with my own mercury-related health problems for much of my life.

Please remember, we all need to try to "encourage one another" as much as possible, since for many of us, this forum is the only source of encouragement we have. For many of us, our friends and family don't understand what we're going through. Thus, this forum has been a well-spring of help and support to many, many more people than just those who regularly post.

I hope you all will receive this in the spirit in which it is intended - as an encouragement to persevere and not give up on each other or the forum.

Sincerely,

Laura Clement

Your allergy may be to citrus bioflavenoids. Choose a vitamin c supplement without added bioflavenoids. If you want a vitamin c that isn't even derived from a plant, then just look for any vitamin c that doesn't say plant source or all natural on it.

That's true Kriminal, one can very easily not click on the thread. And yes for the most part the forum is the best I know of. My only gripe really was off topic debating getting onto more threads. Provokes, rather than sticks to the point of the forum.

Again, Russ has forums for those topics alone, should people want to keep having it out. However, again I'm not suggesting any of us should be RIGIDLY amalgam all the time either.

I guess one should just focus on the rest of the threads as much as they can and keep away from the ones that cause upset. Just hope it doesn't become habitual on here.

Laura, Thank you for your comments. I feel that you are a better moderator than you give yourself credit for. Points well taken.

Bex, I completely agree. I have been frequenting this forum for a year now and, little by little, have seen the debates discouraging rather than up building as when I first started.

I plan to do what you have mentioned; just focusing on the threads that help me in my recovery from Amalgam Illness.
BTW, Bex, you have been a great encouragement for me many times. Thank you.

Those are some wise words Laura, thank you. I did recently have a read of the Conflict and Kindness message and it is very relevant and well written.

I was just thinking . . . some people here want to stick to discussions about mercury. Others like myself enjoy having conversations now and then which are off topic. I can understand why these might upset some people, particularly if they are struggling with their health and feel unable/unwilling to deal with those topics and the disagreement they sometimes provoke.

A number of other forums have a main list for on-topic threads, and another list for off-topic threads. That is sort of the case here. However, what I see is a lot of other topic-specific areas, which seem to get little or no traffic compared to the mercury forum. I wonder if Russ would be willing to merge most or all of these and make one, two or three other areas where people can discuss what they want? For example, there is an area to talk about creationism, but no area where people can go to talk about religion, philosophy, conspiracy theories -- just to name a few things that have come up recently. So they appear on the main forum (the mercury forum), and some people don't like this.

I also find that some interesting discussions do happen in the other areas here but I wouldn't know it if I didn't go hunting over there occasionally, and I'm sure I'm still missing a lot. I would find it easier just to scan through the topics on an off-topic list and pick the ones I want to read/talk in. Maybe this division of the entire list into "mercury forum" and "all other topics" is not what Russ originally had in mind, but it does seem to be the case that here is where most of the interest and discussion seems to be.

Thanks Tracy, I didn't even realize what you were referring to, I have no time to read those long drawn out threads....too busy juicing. I am not even sure what a chem trail is, is that the big plume of smoke left behind by the airplanes?

And thanks for sticking up for me, although I took no offence to that comment by Elvis....I do have chemo brain and the mad hatter syndrome too.

I do skim most of the posts that come to my email...but delete the majority with just a glance...haven't got the time to read or respond to them.

And btw, how do you know Elvis is a woman...he/she sure had me fooled!!!

Best love sweetie,
Sandi

Thanks Laura.

As I've said before, I keep this forum as "open" as possible and allow the freedom of expression to go farther than most moderators ever will.

It's good to deviate from the subject and discuss whatever may be important at the time, and I have no problem with this.

I would just ask that people not become easily offended, even if others are rude or offensive. We're strong enough to let words slide off of us.

If others have a different opinion than we do, don't get upset. It's alright for alternative opinions to be expressed. That's how much personal and collective progress is made and is why I allow it.

Kindness—even if a little sarcastic occasionally—is always important no matter what your beliefs are. I will eventually ban users who are continually disrespectful and grossly unkind.

I have banned 2 anonymous IP addresses tonight for this reason.

Lets all feel free to use this system to talk about whatever is on our mind so long as we treat each other with a reasonable amount of kindness and respect.

You don't have to like a person's belief system, but a person should always be treated with respect.

OK Russ, thanks for clarifying this. Actions like this go a lot further in earning my respect for people than quotations from the Bible. You are a tolerant person. It upsets me, though, that a number of people don't like some of the conversations here. I will try to tread more carefully from now on.

Hi anon, thank you. I am really touched! Had plenty of encouragement back myself . I think it is the wisest thing, just to stick to threads that dont provoke or upset, especially when you're vulnerable.

It's easy to want to get involved sometimes when you see something you believe in being belittled, or you feel something that's been said might be inaccurate or unfairly stated, but if you find it screws you up too much to do it and you feel sick or your health suffers to get into debates like that, then it's time to back off and concentrate on healing (I have had to try and do this).

I think the kindness in conflict is something we all could do with reminding ourselves more perhaps. I'm not saying lets get really mushy and insincere about it, but I always admire people that even in debates and strong feelings can STILL be respectful and tactful to others, even if they feel like outright abusing them That is hard to achieve and shows maturity, humility and the ability to put oneself in someone else's place. Hard to master, especially when one is toxic.
