Do I think the vitamin makers don't know that calcium interferes with magnesium absorption? Well obviously many of them don't know that because they sell the two combined as a supplement. We already know not to give all-knowing god-like status to doctors, is it wise to give this status to vitamin-makers? Some companies make some truly awful products with cheap and nasty ingredients. Some of them sell things that are unnecessary to take, or even harmful.
I did say that I can't see any reason not to take ALA, and I don't dispute the health properties you've said it has. I have said several times that EPA and DHA are vital to human health and that flax oil does not provide these in the quantities we need. If you don't want to believe that, that's absolutely fine. Others reading this can decide for themselves.
