ummm, no not exactly, it doesn't quite work like that either, God getting pissed etc.
What the bible says about it, and what I have experienced in my own life, is that he for the most part turns his back on us so as not to see our 'sin', not hear our cursing etc... really he doesn't want to know about it.
The problem is though, is that at that point you are not dealing with God but rather his counterpoint, so to speak, aka the devil be he by many names... the devil pretty much jumps in where he can, seeks and destroys I am sure you know the story by now. And without God, you are pretty much helpless. Of course you can choose at that point to run with the devil, ally yourself with him, wittingly or unwittingly, doesn't really matter. The outcome is generally the same, destruction... but not by God's hand. You may live well for a while serving the world or the devil, but destruction is imminent. Hopefully you don't hurt too many others too severely along the way....
A lot of spiritual forces in this world, God is only one of them, albeit so powerful he usually bows out rather than destroy everything as he did once before (eg; the flood). And btw, when I say God, I mean Jehovah, like in the bible, someone else may say god and mean something entirely different.
I think a lot of people get a very bad impression of 'God' because of things like 'allah akbar' , machetes heads being cut off, things of that nature... the bloody inquisitions of the catholic church, also a religion with many pagan beliefs steeped in egyptian lore... but allah is not the same as Jehovah, different god regardless of what muslims tell you about it. Their allah has no partners, no angels, nothing, their allah has no son, no Jesus, it is a different god with a different set of rules entirely. Far as I know there is not even a word for love in the arabic language. The only thing muslims/arabs have in common with Judeao/Christian beliefs is common lineage back to Abraham so some of the names are the same in that regard. The arabs were very much moon worshippers prior to Mohammad's appearance. many of their customs remain the same (notice even their crescent moon logo) and they still pilgramage to a rock at a certain site of the previous religion also. essentially Mohammad wrote their book, their bible, their quaran which helped unite all the little pagan moon cults and their many deities under 'one' god, but it still is a different god.
