so i'm under the impression that both algin and activated charcoal absorb mercury. activated charcoal costs half as much as algin. is algin better? when i start dmsa i want something to soak up the mercury just in case... and i'm not sure if i can afford algin long term.

I have studied up on activated charcoal on it's unique abilities to absorb poisons and chemicals when ingested. I know that if you accidentally ingest a poison that at the hospital they immediately give you a slurry solution(a drink) of activated charcoal and then observe you for a number of hours. BUT, soaking up mercury is not one of activated charcoals best things it does. It really soaks up mercury very poorly. I had ivestigated this same thing as the cost of algin was very high for it's dosing. Also when using activated charcoal, you need to take more trace minerals since some of these are absorbed by AC easily. As far as I can tell, algin is the real deal when it comes to mercury absorption!

I took it for 2 months after my amalgam removal and I helped me quit a bit ,the only caution is to make sure you take extra iodine , essential minerals it will absorb them ,and do not take it 2 hours from suppliments or medications it will absorb them also i took 2 capsules daily

so if i suspect i might have some mercury in my gut... algin would be good? or do you consider "gut" as small intestines. my mind is all muddled up now.
i was feeling pretty good besides my chronic stomach problems after amalgam removal. then a few days ago i felt like a lump stuck on my lft side. i swear i felt like i was going to die. it hurt so much. like i was being stabbed almost, but eventually the pain or lump or whatever moved and now its more toward my lower abdomen. if i try to strain i feel pain. otherwise no pain. morning after, i felt a crazy immense headache and toxic feeling that i haven't felt since i got my first few amalgams removed.

This is just me but .... Algin made my constipation worse, so I do the activated charcoal. I also for some reason did muscle testing and my body did not like Algin . Algin also tested negative for me on the EAV testing so I'm not taking it at this time, but would like to when I'm more regular. For that sharp pain.... You may want to try lying on your back with you knees to your chest to releive that sharp pain in your left side. If it goes away while doing this, it may just be gas pain. hth
