Errm? Reading Andy’s C book reference sulfur diets, he say’s maybe, possibly, if, when, what, why….it might be good to exclude all sulfur foods, but then again maybe not? He is not that clear, but generally he thinks they should be excluded from the diet.
Reading “whole body dentistry” by Mark Breiner he says on page 78. “Mercury loves sulfur and eagerly bonds with it. Because sulfur is so prevalent throughout our bodies this is a primary way in which mercury interferes with proper functioning. Therefore, I ask my mercury-removal patients to include eggs in their diet because eggs have a high sulfur content. The mercury binds with the sulfur from the eggs and takes it out of the system.” So he is saying that high sulfer diet is a good thing because it binds and removes mercury from the body.
I am confused

Foods rich in sulfur are indeed very good for many, but there are some that can't tolerate them, especially garlic and raw onions...for myself, I thrive on them, maybe that is why I did so well on the DMSA. When I ate eggs in the a.m., I was good for the whole day. Only once when I took a high dose of a highly concentrated garlic supplement did I experience a mercury Herxheimer reaction.
You can only try, for me all the greens, garlic and eggs worked a treat!!! It does indeed remove heavy metals like a charm, just don't overdo it...and you will soon know if you are.

I can also tolerate high sulfur foods. I have eggs every day, onions, garlic (cooked) and loads of broccoli, cabbage etc etc. Anyway my diet is so restricted I wouldn't know what to eat anymore if I had to take out sulfur foods.
Guess it really is down to the individual.

It seems to me that if you have a high sulfur diet , you will have less mercury binding to the sulfur in your enzymes and more binding to the sulfur in the food.I feel much better when I eat high sulfur foods.

I know what you mean sunshine. It's hard when you get contradictory type answers. For me? I have found that I can get away with it, so long as I dont go for total overkill.
I think sulfur is important personally but I think it has an affinity to mercury and can indeed seem to mobilise it, which is Andy's concern. People who are low in sulfur, do very well on high sulfur foods. People already quite high tend to get more mercury mobilisation from the extra sulfur, so find they have to be a little more careful.
Usually you'll find most symptoms occur with sulfur foods when you have too much mercury in your blood/tissue, so reactions to sulfur foods are a good indicator for that.
But the WORST culprits for me were sulfur based supplements like cysteine, methionine, garlic etc, where everything is potent/concentrated. This is where you can really mess yourself up. But again, some do GREAT on these things (those low in sulfur already).

Hi, I was just wondering what foods are OK when doing the sulfur exclusion test. I've made a list and this is what I've got so far but if anyone can think of anything I can add that is low carb as I'm on a candida diet as well, i would be so grateful!! Would zuccini be OK? This is my list: alfalfa sprouts, avocado, celery, cucumber, dandelion, eggplant, kohlrabi, lettuce, olives, spinach, tomato vinegar (braggs), meat
Also I'm hoping that meat is actually OK??
Any info would be appreciated

taken from here: http://curezone.com/faq/q.asp?a=3,76&q=102 A simple test You can also try a simple test, and maybe this will convince you that you are poisoned by mercury. But be aware this test is only useful for those who really do have widespread fibromyalgic pain, and not for all mercury toxic people. Exclude the following sulfur foods and supplements from your diet for a week. Those with high plasma cysteine will feel better, and those with low plasma cysteine will feel worse. Some of you will not notice any difference, but that doesn't prove you're not mercury toxic. However, it really might mean that your condition is caused by some other element/s or things I listed above. (In no specific order) eggs dairy products bakery products containing whey, cysteine, eggs or "enzymes" beans (all types) and bean sprouts soy (soy milk, tofu…) peas lentils broccoli broccoflower brussels sprouts bok choy cabbage kale cauliflower turnips asparagus leeks rutabagas onions shallots garlic papaya coffee dried fruit preserved with SO2 bananas, avocados, honeydew melons (These aren't sulfury but some people do have problems with them.) meat, poultry, fish You should also exclude all next supplements and medications. Some of them should never be used anyway, and others can only be used according to Andy Cutler. Therefore you should stay away from all of them until you read both books and learn how to use them. (In no specific order) ALA – alpha lipoic acid also known as just lipoic acid DMSA – dimercaptosuccinic acid DMPS – dimercaptopropane sulfonate sodium R-ALA – R alpha lipoic acid cilantro EDTA – ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid chlorella and other algae TTFD allithiamine penicillamine BAL – dimercaprol DMSO NAC – N-acetylcysteine MSM – methylsulfonylmethane whey protein glutathione cysteine methionine bromelain papain extracts of the mentioned vegetables (garlic, broccoli...) dairy source acidophilus YES - Thats a lot of food to exclude. was very difficult for me as i have a host of other foods i cannot eat. good luck

Thanks heaps for that Sunshine. I'm a bit concerned about meat being on the list as I eat it at every meal. Is it possible to do a 2 week try of low sulfur but still have meat? Otherwise, due to the anti candida diet I would be literally limited only to the vegies I listed above and some fat Anyhow I guess by limiting the sulfur vegies and eggs and by still having meat I'd still see the difference as to when I try a high sulfur diet. I'm sure I can work it out

Hi Cara, yes it is a bit confusing with so many foods on the exclusion list, especially the meat. I have read many places than mercury toxic people need to eat meat as it is a good chelator! That vegetarians don’t get better from amalgam illness? Confusion around and around we go, different signs all over the place, I’m still puzzling it out.
I did the exclusion for 2 weeks and I was not really effected for better or worse. I have since started eating lots of these foods with no adverse reactions, although I have to strongly limit my meat intake, only 3-4 times per week and in as small amounts as possible. Up until last year, I ate meat minimum twice a day.
Currently I’m on day 4 of a veg juice only diet. No solids, just veg juice…..now that’s tough! Trying to last 1 week, but the weekend is gonna be difficult. It is working through so I will try hard to tough it out.
