Hi Jill, yes I would say this place is modern because it's one of the "newer" government owned places. I think it's a kitset one. Relatively easy to put together.

It also has aluminium windows, thin walls and lack of insulation. I have seen water dripping down the walls, had black patches over the ceilings and sometimes some of the walls. We now use dehumidifiers and this has improved GREATLY.

But I do not believe this is the healthiest place to live, however, the location is probably the best because we are close to the city, close to relatives, close to shops etc. And to leave this place would be a bad move. REason being is there are families on waiting lists to try and get in. I do not know where we would go if we left, or we would end up. Hard to say.

Personally I prefer the very old built "railway" houses. I actually quite like the old style anyway, but I can well imagine they would be a healthier bet (far more solid too). and yeah I would imagine this place has a lot of formaldehyde. I've been here now for ten years. But again, my worsened symptoms only began after a very bad bacterial infection. So I cannot associate my problems with the house, as I was ok before this infection (apart from going through hell detoxing the mercury, which I was recovering from).

Gotta get some house plants I know. I am too sick right now to even go out, but maybe later I will.
