Do you attribute your panic attacks to mercury?
Thanks

Oh yes, mercury is notorious for panic attacks. After I was first poisoned, I went through a horrific time with panic attacks and became almost agoraphobic. I got better with Klonopin and went to an anxiety disorders clinic and learned techniques to deal with it and not let it scare me to death anymore. Panic attacks are DEFINITELY SOMETHING MERCURY CAUSES!!!

I never did, but now I am beginning to think it's responsible for my anxiety disorder. I was always an anxious person, but never had OCD until after they started putting in the fillings when I was about 9-10 (I can't remember when I had the first one, except it was before I left primary school at 11).
By 12 I had constant anxiety. My whole life was one long panic attack. I spent almost all day involved in some ritual, either mental or physical. It was hell. OCD is caused by neuro transmitter problem and mercury interferes with neuro transmitters. It seems to me quite obvious it was the cause.
I never ever thought it could be due to fillings. At the moment I am really in "limbo" over this. If it is was the fillings - and they just kept putting more and more in - silver for the black, white for the front - plus braces - then I just feel so, I don't know how I feel, angry, sad. All those years of suffering, my lost late childhood, could have been prevented.
I don't suppose there is any way I could prove it was the mercury, if it was. At first when I heard about this, then I felt that it was done in ignorance, I could forgive that. But what is making me more angry than anything is the way no one in the government, mainstream dentists or medical community is facing up to this. That's what makes me feel like I would sue them if I could prove it, because I will never ever get my late childhood or teen years back.
I heard that friction of metal can increase problems with mercury, which might explain once my braces were finished with, I got a bit better. The anxiety got better, but mostly I learnt how to deal with it better. I never had drugs for it. I didn't trust what was in them and didn't want to live like a zombie. That's what I think doctors are today, legal drug pushers.

I don't know that I even experienced "clinically diagnosed" panic attacks, but I can tell you that all my life (with mercury fillings) I was a very anxious person. I always felt stressed, nervous, anxious and high-strung. In fact, I would say that on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being "panicked", I lived my life constantly at a 7-8 all the time. It didn't take much to put me over the top. I also suffered low blood sugar all those years, and if my sugar levels dropped to low, then I definitely "panicked" and became horribly irritable, somewhat dizzy and nauseous and "desperate" to eat something. I'm sure if I had ever gone to a doctor or psychiatrist, I would have been "diagnosed" with ADD, anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, and maybe even some degree of mental fragmentation. I honestly often wondered if I was "possessed" at times (like something or someone was controlling me)...I know that may sound ridiculous to some people, but at my lowest lows, I truly considered it a possibility. Remember, in the New Testament in the Bible, there's a story of a man who was "out of his mind" because he was possessed, but after Christ "healed" him, he became a normal person again, in his right mind. One thing that contributed to my decision to have all my mercury fillings removed was a story I think I remembering reading in Hal Huggins' book It's All In Your Head that described a gentleman who was schizophrenic and had to be or was going to be institutionalized. He talked to himself and heard voices in his head, etc. After his amalgams were removed, he was completely normal...no voices, no more medication, he became a productive member of society again. It saddens, angers and sometimes still overwhelms me that I spent the best years of my life (from 10-30) living the way I did. I honestly blame the mercury fillings for why I'm still single today and for many, many of the bad decisions I made during those 20 years. I couldn't think straight, I was an emotional rollercoaster, I couldn't remember things, I'd remember things differently than what actually happened, I had a very hard time focusing and concentrating, etc., etc. Now that the mercury is out, I'm a different person. I'm no longer anxious or stressed all the time and I can relax and have fun...something I honestly wasn't capable of doing before. It's hard to really explain to people how different my life is now. It's like I'm free from this "force" that controlled me and caused me to do and say things and even think things that I couldn't control. I no longer live in this perpetual state of "brain-fog" and uncontrollable thoughts and emotions. I urge anyone with mercury (silver) fillings to get Hal Huggins' book and honestly consider getting this poison out of your mouth...no matter the cost. Unfortunately, mercury causes debilitating side-effects like apathy, fear and fatigue, and by it's nature, makes people less likely to take action. To me, having mercury in your mouth is no different than ingesting bits of lead or arsenic or even rat poison...small enough amounts may not kill you but they are still poisoning you slowly! Take courage! There is hope for a normal, happy life, even after mercury poisoning...I'm living proof!

Maybe you had mild OCD, Laura? One of the things that brought me to this forum was that I read on the internet that mercury can trigger OCD. I was never formally diagnosed with it, but it was always clear to me it's what I had/have.
Part of it is to feel you are not in control of your own mind. I so often felt "possessed" like something was compelling me to do the rituals. It was hard to break from them, I really had to fight. And thoughts would come into my mind that I couldn't shake out or control, and it was just awful. I still get that sometimes and I have a lot of phobias.
I don't remember ever having these problems until I started having the fillings. I was always nervous, but I wasn't on constant panic. Then after having the fillings, I was anxious 24/7. Some nights I would be up for hours and it was like I was trapped in anxiety and the only way of alleviating it was to do a ritual.
I was only about 12 and I didn't know what was wrong with me, and it was really scary. I tended to hide it from my parents because I didn't want them to worry and they wanted me to go to see a psychiatrist, so I said I was fine and I changed the rituals then to more mental ones - like if I counted something a hundred times, then such a thing wouldn't happen (rather than have to touch an object 10 times). I'm glad I never saw a doctor about it, though, because I don't know what they would have done with me. Drugs, I guess. I don't think they would have thought about my fillings being a possible cause.
It helped when I became a Christian, and when my braces went (which I think probably due to less friction of metal) but even to this day I am very anxious and I have a lot of phobias. I'm almost 30 and still single and I think my anxiety is a lot to blame. It's not easy for someone to spend a lot of time with me because I have so many panic attacks.
My mother has OCD also, but I don't remember her always having it. She was once a very different person to the one she is now, and I can't help think it's all the fillings she's got that has made her ill.
I'm getting the fillings out because if there' s just a small chance that I can not be so anxious all the time, then I want to take it.

PS I only have 5 mercury fillings now, but I would have had about 7-8 in the past. (A couple have been replaced and I've lost 2 teeth with fillings). It's not as much as some people have, but maybe I was more sensitive to mercury than a lot of people are or the dentist just drilled them out etc exposing me to a lot of vapour, and also the metal friction from my braces.
I don't think many people in my personal life believe me that the fillings are causing problems, even the dentist I saw didn't really, but I'm convinced of it after what I've been reading on the internet and from discussions with people here. I was not the same child I was after they started giving me fillings. I became withdrawn, anxious, shy wheras before I was really confident and rather extrovert.

Maybe you had mild OCD, Laura? OCD is often (if not nearly always) the result of mercury poisoning, in my opinion. It's important to also note that many/most braces have nickel which contributes to mercury symptoms, among other things. Dentures also often contain mercury (according to Huggins). I believe mercury poisoning is " the health issue of the next decade". It breaks up marriages, causes or increases the likelihood of someone committing crimes, and causes all (not most) of the disease today that are labeled " major". A study found that the vast majority of criminals in jail/prison the U.S. are hypoglycemic. This is a very common effect of mercury. And so is: High blood pressure, depression, headaches/migraines, cholesterol issues, arthritis, IBS, MCS, CFS, Fibromyalgia, suicidal tendencies, ADD, ADHD, OCD, Allergies, Crohn's, Candida (yeast), heart disease, and on and on. Interestingly, mercury is used in some religions to help people reach a "higher level" of spirituality or to subdue enemies. On the contrary, the Bible forbids entering foreign substances into the body: 'pharmakeia' (far-mak-i'-ah). I'm almost 30 and still single and I think my anxiety is a lot to blame. I am 40 and still single. With all the issues I had related to mercury, I was not ready or capable of having a long-term relationship. I had many short (less than 6-month) ones. I had a "fear of commitment". I completely blame mercury, especially considering that now, only 5 years after all my fillings were removed, I am completely confident and very ready for a real relationship, but like Laura, I had the bulk of my life stolen from me. Even my childhood was filled with thoughts of daily suicide and intense secret depression. The good news? There is an easy solution: Get the mercury out. P.S. - Pharmakeia is such a serious offense in the Bible that the legal penalty for producing them is death.

I am 42 and I'm still single due to my mental health problems. I only had one filling (see my story in other threads) but a DMPS challenge test showed that I excreted a very elevated level of mercury. Russ and Laura, reading between the lines it seems that both of you are Christians. I am also a Christian and I accepted Christ at the age of 18. God did not take the problems out of my life but he has sustained me. I hope that we can all find peace and happiness after having suffered for so many years.

Hi Aaron.
I too am a Christian. I've come to the conclusion that a lot of suffering is human made and that God, out of respect for our free-wills, doesn't intervene directly to stop the consequences of human action. So, basically, that when the dentists were filling our teeth with mercury, there was little God could do directly. But I think that God has lead me to the truth about what is wrong with me. I think He was trying to tell me for the past 10 years, but it just didn't register with me. Sometimes we just don't see the truth or don't want to believe it etc.
It is tough having so much anxiety and mental health problems. I've always shyed away from relationships because of my problems, which sometimes just seemed so overwhelming that I thought I was a freak to have so many, or a hypochondriac.
Even though I am still not well, I am more open to the possibility of a relationship than I was a few years ago. Now I know what's wrong with me, there is every hope of getting better, which puts a more positive spin on things. Also I feel I've matured in my attitudes towards what love is, or what it should be. My experience is that most people single over 30 are so because of some underlying issue (not all, just speaking generally). Maybe we are all too hard on ourselves, I don't know. Because no one is perfect, personality wise or health wise.
My opinion now is that it's up to the other person to decide if they want to be with us, even though we might have a health problem, because there is more to a relationship that being "perfect" - can only speak for myself in saying I thought I had to be perfect to be loved, that I had to have a perfect health, perfect personality, perfect shape etc. But love is to accept someone "as they are", and that means the quirks.
A lot of people are selfish these days and love others selfishly. But love shouldn't be selfish, so any quality relationship should be one where the fears/anxieties of the other are treated with the same compassion as they would treat their own. Love should be building someone up to be the best that they can be. It's not love if someone is cast aside because they're not perfect. I think we just have to let our personalities shine and let the other person decide if they want to be with us, especially if we are truly in love with someone. I've only ever been truly in love once in my whole life, which is now, and while it's difficult to know what to do for the best, because I do have so many health issues, I could get better, but might never again feel this way for someone. I know people say "plenty more fish in the sea" and so forth, but I don't have these kind of feelings for someone easily, and I think it's worth fighting for when they do come along.
Also, there may be a time in the other persons life where they face a health problem and need support, so it should be a continuous thing of giving and receiving support. I think, as nations, we in the west have become very poor at both giving and receiving help, and at supporting each other and listening. Not to undermine the importance of psychiatry, but I can't help feel sometimes that counsellors have taken the place of friends and family. My uncle had some tough things in his life to deal with, health and family wise, but he said he and my aunt never needed a counsellor because they always talked things through together. They were happily married for over 40 years. Again not saying people shouldn't go for therapy, but it seems to me that it's kind of come routine now to pack someone off to therapy rather than to talk to them and to listen as friends and offer comfort. Just my opinion.

I agree wholeheartedly, Demi. Two years ago I fell in love with a woman but apparently it was not in God's timing for me to be married and she has left my life. I still desire love and companionship but I will have to wait and see what God's will is. Hi Aaron.

Sorry it didn't work out, Aaron. Here's hoping you meet someone else who can be special to you.
I'm not personally sure how much I believe God plays a part in who people meet in general (as so many are married, divorced, remarried etc), but I do believe He can play a part if we ask Him too and/or trust Him with our lives <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I don't think that until recently I was in the right frame of mind to marry and didn't totally understand what God's vision of marriage was (not helped by some people distorting it). But now I have a very clear idea of it and I think that if a husband and wife can conduct their marriage as God tells them, then it will be a great blessing in life.

I do. I have suffered them since early teens and then by then I had 10+ amalgams. They have plagued me into my 30's. I have calmed them by making sure I get plenty of vitamins. But I think that is a major effect of mercury.

Hi Demi,
So glad to hear that youve found someone and i wish the two of you all the happiness and joy that comes from having the Lord in a relationship. I also have someone very special in my life but today im having one of the worst days of my life. Ive never felt so low and so alone..... the love of my life has stood by me through all my ups and downs and has pulled me through some of my darkest moments, but i cant stay in his life anymore, i feel like such a burden to him, he wants to go out and "live" and i cant becuase im so scared to leave the house in case i freak out and theres no one to help me. Ive stopped "living" and i cant expect him to just because im sick. He is a pilot and i freak out every time i drop him of at work, i cry the whole way home because im so terrified something bad is going to happen while he's up there, im obsessed about losing him. I cant expect him to stop living his dream because im so sick. Ive prayed about it and asked the Lord to take my fear away and to help me trust that nothing will happen to him but it never leaves me. I gave my life to the Lord about a year ago and i constantly scrutenise my faith. Is there a God, Can he hear me, is he there for me, questions, questions, questions...... i cant anymore. Ive packed my bags and im leaving his life so that he can carry on living a happy healthy life like he desserves. I know this sounds like im feeling sorry for myself but im really not, its just better this way. I just wish someone would turn my brain off so that i could stop feeling and thinking, even just for a few minutes so that i could have some peace in my heart and mind. Im sorry to share my sob story with you but i need to tell someone about it. thanks for lending me your time, and if you can please say a little prayer for me, every bit helps.
Take care and God bless.

I absolutely beleive mercury is responsible for anxiety disorders such as OCD. I've silently suffered with "Pure-O" OCD (obsessions without compulsions) most of my life. I wasn't aware of what OCD was until a few years ago (early 30's) when it got bad. This was about the time I had a few more mercury amalgams put in. I also have other conditions such as A.D.D., poor short term memory, anxiety, etc.. Also developed asthema out of nowhere a few years ago. I have just recently read that all of these can be caused by mercury toxicity! I just had myself tested yesterday and my suspicions were confirmed. I'm suffering from chronic mercury poisoing. Most likely from my 13 mercury amalgams. I've already seen a dentist about having them removed and have begun mercury cleansing with Chlorella and Cilantro. It is extremely important to have a chelating procedure after each amalgam removal session (i'm going to need about 5 trips to dentist for all of mine). You also may have to have the Chelating I.V. once a week for months (up to a year or so) until all of the mercury embedded in your brain, spine and organs is flushed out. Also stop eating seafood! Everyone I have talked to who's had their amalgams removed said it was a "life changing experience". I can't wait to get this poison out of my head. I definitely feel dentists and the ADA should be held accountable for ruining a good part of our lives!

Hi TGoss,
I'm so sorry for what you are going through, but I really don't think walking away from your relationship is the best thing. If you want to talk privately, please email me at (removed).
God is helping you because He has lead you here, so that you can get answers and help how to get better. It will take time. But don't give up now. If you love this man, then he loves you too. That's what love is, to support each other. You can't help being sick. None of us can.
I undestand about feeling down. I have been down myself lately, really depressed, feeling like there is no point or meaning to anything. I'm not in a relationship with the man I like and I might never be, and I am scared of getting involved with someone because of my problems. I know what it's like.
But this man has been with you through bad times and there is every chance now that you will start to get better now you know what is wrong. Don't give up on this. Remember what the Bible says about love - it never gives up, it's faith and hope is eternal.
God is helping you. So many people don't know what is wrong with them and don't have the courage to face it, even if we tell them. You'll get through this, I totally believe that you will.
Talk to your partner about how you are feeling instead of walking away. I know how you feel because I feel the same, like I will be a burden. My family and friends make me feel that way sometimes because I have so many phobias and fears and, like you, get nervous in social situations. I get have to get off buses and even trains, and people don't understand all the time. But we can't give into this, we have to fight it. And now we know what is wrong, we can help ourselves. Talking vitamins is helping me, I can feel the difference. I used to wake up with hugeanxiety in the morning and terrible thoughts and fears in my head, but lately it has gotten better until this week when I cut out the vitamins and algin because I was on penicilin.
This is mercury doing it to you, it's not you. And don't let the mercury win. We can't let it win or let it ruin our lives more than it has. We have to defeat it. We're all here for each other and to support each other. You can get through this, I just know that you can.

Please be cautious using chlorella and cilantro while you still have mercury fillings in. I have read in many places that this can stir up or cause more metal to come from the fillings. Since both of these substances are "chelators".

I would not ever recommend using (especially) chlorella while fillings are still in.

I wish I would have heard about not chelating while the amalgams were still in a little earlier. I was taking Chlorella and Cilantro 3x a day for a few weeks and began feeling horrilbe every morning. I felt very nervous and had like a hung over feeling (but without nausia). I think they call it brain fog. It is a very acurate description! I stopped taking the supplements and felt better the next week. I told my doctor about this and he said that my dosage was probably too low but I'm holding off on anymore chelating until all of the amalgams are out. I've had two procedures done and have two more to go. They'll all be out by the end of the month. Then he's going to put me on DPMS for a while then switch to DMSA. I'll also get back on the chlorella/cilantro and any other chelating supplement I can get my hands on. From what I've read, mercury mostly stores itself in your brain and interferes with serotonin production. Most believe low serotonin levels are the cause of OCD (which is why the prescribe SSRIs to make serotonin more available in the synaptic cleft. My hope is that once the mercury is purged from my brain my serotonin levels will increase and my OCD will diminish or go away completely. I'm just hypothesising but all I can do is see how I feel after the amalgams are out and I've chelated for a while. i'll have to wait a while to make sure its not a placebo effect.

ya It's scary that alot of places have 1/2 of the info and without the other 1/2 it's a very toxic endever.
ie chelating without removal of your mercury first ...

Wow. Mercury sounds like a life-stopper in my view. I found this on the net yesterday, talking about is it's maybe "mercury poisoning that started thier OCD in the first place at this community dedicated to OCD They have a guy thats having his mercury fillings removed, and to see if his OCD will drastically decrease. Also he is cleansing himself from any toxins to excell the proces as well. Also telling what to do to cleance yourself if you have any "mercury poisoning". I have never got any fillings. But I am looking at my past to see if I was ever exposed to anything of mercury involved, since I have OCD on a scale I wish not even on my worst enemy. I think this will come the surface eventualy to help the sufferers out greatly. Good luck, and God Bless to every one who is suffering with this horrible OCD.

You'll probably notice some similarities between my posts above and the one in that link because I wrote them both;) I'm glad people are reading that! I strongly think there is a connection and it seems many on this site feel the same way. Though amalgam fillings are probably the biggest culprite, there are other ways to be exposed to mercury. The other big way is through immunizations and flu shots. They contain a preservative called Thimerosol, which is 50% mercury! Google Thimerosol and read for yourself. Many belive it caused OCD and Autism in a lot of people (especially children). Seafood also contains a lot of mercury.

Yes, I have had torturous mental symptoms with this toxicity. Beyond what I could ever hope to experience. Causing me to fixate on certain patterns of thinking and then becoming afraid by them, or obsessed and though it feels like it's my fault, it's something that I cannot seem to help doing. It causes my heart to race, my mind to race and I become afraid of other people.
My life is pretty much destroyed by this, I can no longer detox/chelate for various reasons, one being my gut and liver are almost completely stuffed. I'm in pain constantly, I barely eat and live with fearful thoughts. I have thought of suicide also. It all sounds very self pitying, but it's simply too much for me, it's everyday and goes on all day.
So yes, mercury can do anything it wants to you and the sicker you are from anything else, the more mercury can do a job on you and any area of your life. It's unspeakable really what it's capable of causing to some people.

I get very panicky and it could come on any time which means its hard to make plans for socialising etc. Recently we had a barbecue coming up at a friends house and i was dreading it trying to think of excuses not to go, they cancelled it in the end, i was relieved. It spoils your whole life, i wake up in the mornings with a horrible feeling like something bad is about to happen. Dawn

I get that too, Dawn. It's been bad in recent years, though nowhere near as bad as when I was a child. Children are supposed to be worry-free, but not me. When my father was coming home from work, for example, I would feel sick to my stomach that something would happen to him. The same when anyone else went out. I really can't describe how terrible those years of my life were, and I'm glad I got some improvement when the fillings, braces and fish went, because I don't know what would have happened. By 14 I was suicidal.
These days I am better, but I can't handle social events at all. I avoid as many as possible. I prefer just going out with one or two friends at the same time, or going somewhere alone. I can't handle parties or bbq's or things like that. I don't even go to church anymore. I love the cinema or theatre, but even going there makes me nervous because of the noise and the people, and I have to thoroughly check out what a film is about before I got to see it, because I've learnt the hard way that if it contains something I am phobic about, I will have a panic attack and have to leave. I had to wait over an hour one time when I went with friends in the foyer because I couldn't stick the film. I told them I had lost my ticket to re-enter, and they believed it and laughed at the thought of me sitting outside the whole time, but I felt really bad lying to them. The same is true of any movie on tv. I'm ok watching it alone as I can switch over if it has anything in it that induces panic attack, but it's harder when I am with someone.
I try not to think that my life is ruined by mercury, in all it's forms, because I like to think that I can get better, but it's difficult to always stay positive. I'm going to check out the OCD links previously posted <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I am the one who wrote the orginal message about a year ago. I have since found that my panic attacks had been caused by high copper (in addition to mercury ie counting rules) discovered by a hair test. My symptoms for panic/anxiety etc started to subside (still have a little anxiety) but do not have panic attacks as that is a copper thing, not that mercury can't cause it, it can but for me it was mostly copper retention problem. I am chelating currently because I think my HPA (hypothalmus, pituatary, and adrenal axis are messed up from mercury causing me to have adrenal symptoms which GREATLY increase copper retention. (lack of cerrulplasm) You can take all the glandulars and supporting nutrients for your adrenals but if your hypothalmus/pitutary have mercury in them your not going to get anywhere.

That's interesting about the copper. I don't think it is my problem because I don't think I would have had undue copper exposure by the time I got ill - I started anxiety at 10, and the only thing different in my life then was amalgams. I could have had a copper and mercury problem as I drank tap water as a child, but I don't know. I got better when I didn't get no more fillings, vaccines, had the braces out and no more fish.
I know it wasn't my diet either as my mother gave me good homemade food as a child, which included meat from the butcher, poultry and dairy every day (where as others in my class ate a lot of fast foods) so I wasn't lacking in protein or anything like that. I didn't become a vegetarian until I was almost 16, and the time when I had terrible OCD was 12-17. It got better afterwards when the braces went etc, although I have never been "well".

I should have said the only thing different was amalgam and braces. I had braces at 10. I honestly can't remember when I got my first filling, but I think I was about 10 (could be 9, could be 11). But I do know that between 9 and 12 I changed from a normal child to one with chronic OCD.

Also, at some point between 10 and 13, and amalgam fell out of my tooth after brushing my teeth in the morning. I can remember holding it in my hand and it crumbled between my fingers. I can't remember what I did with it, whether I kept it to show my parents, binned it or flushed it down the sick. But I went back to the dentist that day and she put another filling instead of it. I wonder if that was the last straw that made me OCD? I don't know, and I can't remember the chronology of those years. But I think I would have got a lot of exposure by having it in my hand like that and then her drilling and putting another one in without any precautions?

Anonymous #7678 - you are describing the exact symptoms of OCD. If you are not aware that you have OCD I HIGHLY suggest going to the forum above and doing a LOT of reading: http://www.stuckinadoorway.co.uk/There are other treatments that can help you with this. As for the chelating, I've read that if you get the source out (remove amalgam fillings) no more mercury will be put into your system daily and your body will slowly get rid of all the mercury in your body now. Chelating just speeds up the process. So if you still have fillings I'd get them out and also start immediatly on treatments (either natural or medication) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder!!!

That I know of OCD is not caused by copper, it is caused by mercury. Although, copper is in certain foods, and in most foods by trace amounts. Vegatarian diets are high in it, and if you have a genetic tendacy to accumulate it that does'nt help either. (IE liver problem, pryroluria etc) Read why am I always so tired. By Melissa Smith . Adrenals surpressed b y mercury can cause copper to build. Although mercury is causing the build up (mercury favors copper build up because of the surpression of zinc) Doing a zinc taste taste with metered zinc tally (zinc sulfate 1% solution) you taste the metaliic taste if you are fine if not you need more zinc which means only one thing, you have a copper overload to some extent.

I've had the last of my 15 amalgams removed about 4 weeks ago and have been chelating with DMPS (3days on 4off), Marine Lipid Acid Concentrate, Glutathione precursors, Chlorella, Magnesium Oxide, Vitamin C, Alpha-Lipoic Acid and something called Mercury Amalgam formula. It's a lot of pills to take but I am noticing a big difference already. I've been having no problems with my OCD or anxiety at all. When I do have an OCD thought I don't get the jolt of fear I used to and it just passes. I don't dwell on anything. Just the thought that this might possibly be a

This is a breakthrough and great to hear. I really love these success stories we're beginning to have on this forum.
I hope you have time to share your success with persons on OCD forums as some time. They would surely benefit.
Keep us posted.

I found that all my nerve related disorders went away after all the fillings were replaced and continued simple chelating. I only had 8 metal fillings since childhood-- some people had worse symptoms because they had over that amount.
I no longer stutter, no longer speak fast (unless i want to), No more anxiety attacks, etc.
Alot of doctors will misdiagnose a person's symptoms and say, 'it's just nerves

that is funny you said that about stuttering. I noticed myself beginning to stutter and get tounge tied A LOT in my late twenties (after having a lot of fillings put in). The last few years I really had problems putting my thoughts into sentences, which is hard when you work in a technical field such as software engineering. I'm noticing I'm not having that problem as much either.

Wow this is an old post! Yes, one of my worst symptoms is panic attacks. Lately I have been panicking about having the mercury in my mouth and I don't think I will feel at east until it is out. However, I am panicked about the whole issue of chelation. It is so confusing! I hope that after all the poison is out of my mouth the panic will go away and I can go on with my life.

This is simply amazing to me, to think that mercury is responsible for so many mental disorders just blows my mind. I have been anxious and depressed off and on all my life, and I am now 55 and just figuring it all out...it makes me so angry at the injustice of it all. Mercury truly is the atomic bomb of medicine.
When I think of all the drugs that are being prescribed to deal with mental disorders, and the physical ramifications too.... it seems highly unlikely that this affliction will ever be dealt with head on. Too many people are making way too much money from it!!!

I feel as angry as you do. And the ADA STILL promotes mercury amalgams!!!! Everyone just has to get their stories out there for people to hear - how they got better after the amalgams were removed.

Well put!I personally believe that mercury is responsible for a larger percentage of disease in the United States than any other single source of toxicity; Both physical and mental. I would not be at all surprised at all if mercury is at the root of 20% of all chronic disorders. And the really scary part is the politics involved...Mercury is being used to subdue a world of people while political corruption and conspiracy of grand proportions unfold before our very eyes. I believe mercury is one of the pharmacia being referred to Biblically: ...for by your pharmakeia all the nations were deceived. Revelation 18:23

i've had on and off bouts of severe anxiety/panic since i was 18. I would get to the point where i can hardly cope with daily tasks(working, socializing etc..) then i would miraculously get semi normalm so to speak, then out of the blue without any real cause back to being crazy again. At this time i am going through a panic agraphobic stage,i have been experiencing it constantly for about 8months now. I only found out i was mercury tyoxic about 3 months ago,and i finally put my finger on the possible cause for me feling like i have a hangover 24/7. I do not wish this feeling on my worst enemy,as i cannot function like a normal person,i have to avoid social crowded events, wheras before i was a brave outgoing person, that has totally transformed into a cowardly anti-social,sad, angry, and emotional peson. I dream of being normal gain soon but at imes i feel like i'm too far gone to be cured. Btw i am 29 yrs old,and i had 11 fillings and to root canals, one root canal was never capped but filled with what i am told is mercury, all the way to the root <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Hello to you both...I know exactly what you are going through, all my life I felt like I was on the outside of my body looking in....just weird and now I know it is from the mercury...that I got from my teeth and also from my mother's teeth...I have been sick since birth. The only time in my life I felt semi normal was when I went on disability and exercised and sweated for 2 hours every day....then when I went back to work I got sick again...and stress burn out. Now I am 55, just figured out one year ago that it is mercury toxicity, had my amalgams removed and now am about to start chelation. There are many different approaches to chelation, and I would advise you to do lots of reading....and find a good practitioner to guide you through the chelation process or you can end up doing permanent damage.
You may chelate some of the mercury yourself, but if you want to get better faster, you may want to look at some type of formal chelation.
Lots of good info and support here....take some time and read some old posts....lots to learn, that is for sure.
Best luck, Sandi xoxo

I know for me, once I got all 20 of my fillings removed, my life changed dramatically for the better. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off of me and for the first time in a very long time, I could feel happy and peaceful. All the feelings of constant anxiety, worry, extreme negativity, and feeling stressed-out all the time began fading away on their own, quite quickly I might add. Plus, the "brain-fog," depression, apathy and chronic fatigue went away too!
I experienced a real personality change, going from being quite a stressed, negative and easily irritated person to being much more optimistic, more relaxed and able to not let every little thing bother me.
I can't express enough how getting my amalgams out has turned my life around!

You don't know what glimmer of hope that post just gave me. Basically i feel like i am dreaming or am not exactly in my own body,i've felt like this for a very long time but could not put it into words to explain. I at times in the past thought about mentioning it to my doctor but was too afraid of what the answer to why i felt like that would be. I actually don't really remember exactly what it feels like being in touch within myself anymore. Well i have 7 more to get removed 4 of which are huge fillings on back molars (mollars) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> One more thing i notice as of late my teeth are really tender to the touch,it actually hurts when i chew,is there any explanation to that.

My teeth were very sore after the removal, but I assumed that was because I had all 20 taken out at once time. 7 hours in the dentist's chair, ugh. After a few days, the soreness went away. You might want to try a few supplements to help with your symptoms in the meantime. I'd start with a daily regimen of at least 3,000mg of Vitamin C with Citrus Bioflavonoids, 400 to 800 IU of Vitamin E Complete with Selenium, and 3-4 capsules at least twice a day of Algin. You'll want to take the Algin between meals or maybe at night before bed and again first thing in the morning, with plenty of water. You can even take it on an empty stomach if you want, but you can also take it with food. Just try to space it away from your other supplements (since it's a fiber, it could also absorb some of your vitamins, which you want to avoid). Because you've started the removal process, you may experience some ups and downs, since your body may be eliminating some mercury. According to Huggins' book, It's All In Your Head, most people don't really start eliminating much mercury until all of their amalgams are removed. The Algin will help a lot with the ups and downs from stirred-up mercury by absorbing the mercury from the colon so it doesn't get redistributed. Just make sure you don't take any chelators or "detox" herbs until all your fillings are removed...doing so can make you pretty sick and exacerbate your symptoms. Another thing that might help even your tooth soreness is taking extra Magnesium Citrate/Malate. I know it helps me tremendously with muscle aches, cramps and various "pains". It's also very good for anxiety and fatigue. The link will give you a lot of good information on all the things magnesium can help with. Plus, people with amalgam fillings or mercury toxicity from any source are often deficient in magnesium. If I recall, Dr. Cutler recommends 600 to 800 milligrams a day to help with magnesium deficiency. In case you're interested, his book is called Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis & Treatment. Hope this helps! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

Okay, this is my daily regimen. 4grams vitc,800mgof vite 50mg of selenium,500mg of milk thistle,1000mg of omega3complex,100mg of vitb50complex,and i also take naturapath medicine,i think i probably should add some minerals to that like zinc, and magnesium,as i get fatigued real easy, and my muscle tend to trmor upon any slightly harsh excercise.

so you dont feel anybetter after getting the fillings removed? Yes I am about 75% better, but I don't know what it is like to be normal, cause I have never been there...but I hope to be very soon, getting my crowns and cavitations and root canals done very soon. It is hard to explain this illness, I have lost touch with alot of friends, but they weren't true friends, the worst part is people keep telling you it is all in your head, we are not crazy, we would be crazy to leave them in. We have to support each other and that is why I am so grateful to Russ and Laura and the moderators for making this wonderful forum such a great place to come for guidance and support and to share. You're not crazy for thinking your fillings might be making you ill. Those who are crazy are those who think placing the second most toxic material on the planet in our mouths won't have health repercussions. Even if they didn't leak (and they do), at the time of insertion, there would have been high exposure. Also, every time the filling is worked on. Also if removed and replaced with another one.
Just make sure you get a dentist who uses ALL precautions and that you take it at a pace your body can cope with. I've suffered immensely with many things for years, and finally know I have the answer, even though most people don't really believe me.

I wholeheartedly agree with the idea that mercury can cause emotional/mental conditions. There is a lot of research that proves this. Emotions and mental conditions are dependent on body chemistry and mercury changes this in profound ways.
Along these lines, I'm thrilled to announce that we've just finished our initial phase of mercury research and found that most people we tested had between 20 and 220 micrograms per cubic meter of mercury vapor in their mouths at the time of testing.
We tested over 20 people and will be releasing the numbers and video of our results in the coming weeks on this forum. We may also be testing a number of additional people in the upcoming weeks so hopefully we can reach over 100.
We also tested cigarette smoke, blue jeans, a white cotton tee-shirt, salmon, cat food, soil within 12 miles of a power plant, fluorescent lights, and more and you will be shocked at what we found. We were astounded and have video of the entire thing.
It'll take a few weeks to compile the numbers and edit the video. Stay tuned <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

I had to quit three jobs because of panic attacks. Now I work from home because I find work-environments too stressful. I don't get panic attacks so much if I am not in a formal working environment.

I am out of work (disability) for my second time in 4 yrs. I got sick the first time, miraculously got better after being home for five months, doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me so they wrote it off as anxiety/stress. Now this time around i had test run and mercury levels were off the chart as per dmps iv challenge test, (if i knew what i know now i would'nt have done it). So called holistic doctor gave it to me without even exoplaining what it is/does or risks involved, but you live and learn i guess.

Definately NOT anxiety/stress when you slurr spech or have excessive saliva, along with balance/gait problems. My symptoms go on and on. I've had the brain fog or out of body experience for as long as i can remember. My first anxiety attack came on over 10 yrs ago,but as it says one of the most dead giveaways are being unable to function normal daily tasks, then suddenly getting better with no medication or rational explanation. My anxiety symptoms started becoming crippling 4yrs ago,but i am on edge 24/7,basically i feel like i have a constant hangover,or feel like i had a few all the time. With that being said,i dream of the day i can relax and have a beer or two and enjoy it, while socializing with my peers (i used to be able to do those things).

I'm going through similar. I experience fear/anxiety nearly permanently, plus feel as though I'm in a stupor or that I'm drugged up. So I can have heart racing, anxiety and then go into the drug like stupor. It never ends for me either.

Anonymous, it's not as easy as that. I had my amalgams placed many years ago and I am worse now than I ever was. Nobody told me about other toxic dental materials, plus jawbone infections from wisdom tooth removal. And some people do not recover just from getting things removed.
Chlorella does not work for everybody, some have been made much worse long term. It's only if someone is stronger and they are able to eliminate toxins, that they may not take much to get well, so chlorella can help in that case.
Wish it was as easy as being positive, getting things removed and taking some chlorella. Unless you've been through it yourself to the extreme, you won't have any conception of what it is like.

When I first had my amalgams removed, I had no idea about the dangers of it. I was 22 years old and I went in and had them randomly removed with no real protection, other than a suction. But noticed no deterioration at all.
Oddly enough, the last removal, was done by a biologic dentist and she used all the protection, but I swallowed mercury when she removed the rubber dam and failed to use the suction. All the grains went down my throat. i was told it would not cause a problem.
right away, I suffered tremors, nausea, headaches and salivationg and crying, it did indeed injure me badly. IN fact, I believe it was absorbed and poisoned me. I heard one girl swallowed a filling and died.
Anyway, I was very ill, but improved marginally for a time, then got very bad months later and spent years with my body attempting to detox all the storage of mercury. It was hell.
Then I was improving and healing, but developed viral infection which left me with chronic fatigue. Then had wisdom teeth removed and found out I have cavitations as well now. Plus incompatible dental materials.
So yeah, I've kind of been messed up by the dental profession and have fought to get my life back for years on end to no avail. All manner of detoxes do nothing for me nowadays, but they used to work. In fact you mentioned chlorella? chlorella used to actually encourage detox in me but gave me horrnedous symptoms (though i improved after they died down).
but now it does nothing for me. So it's very hard to be positive when I spend most days unable to barely function, I sit in a chair and am exhausted and drugged, but luckily my fingers are very nimble and I can get on here and try and help with some advice when I can.

Hi, thanks anonymous for your kind words. Yeah I get kind of panic attacks, or really just bizzare fears. Don't know if it's mercury or what it is.
my symptoms mainly are gut cramps, exhaustion, depression, suicidal thoughts, fogged brain, fearfulness, anxiety, moments of crying and salivating uncontrollably, itching in the face, feeing of being in a toxic stupor, etc.
so yeah, life's a ball <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Sorry for what you've been through, Bex. Anxiety has been a bane my whole life. It makes it hard for people to be around me, and if things aren't "just so" I have to insist on it, and this can make people get grumpy with me. I so often feel like a pain to everyone. I make people nervous because I get stressed. I find it hard to go on buses, can't go on the underground for many reasons, and have so many phobias it's tough to be around people. When I'm at home, I'm pretty much okay, but put me in another situation and I'm a wreck. I've never been able to "let go and enjoy" as some people have. I get stressed at the cinema because I worry that there will be something in the movie that will trigger a panic attack, the noise and the lights bother me, and I get stressed if there are crowds of people. I feel sick in a car on busy roads, too scared to ride a bike, very nervous the whole journey on aeroplanes, and feel trapped on boats, even though I can swim. I even find it hard going to the hairdressers because I get a panic attack if they want to wet my hair in the sink, which means I always have to get a dry cut.
I spend a lot of time by myself because I don't like to be a pain to people, and I know that I am a pain, because of my phobias. People don't understand it, and added to that, I am difficult to comprehend anyway because my lifestyle and beliefs are not the "norm". People think I am whacky.
So, I know what it's like having anxiety as the main companion in life. It's very difficult. Sometimes I even wake up with panic attacks.

Demi, I have also felt the same, not being able to just leave all my troubles behind and have some fun for a while. I also spent a lot of time alone, but then I realised there ARE people out there who are different to my "normal" healthy, care-free friends. People who have lots of the same issues as I got myself after being metal poisoned. It's just that these people hide their issues and are pretty anonymous out there. I have gained a couple of these new friends and I often have interesting, meaningful conversations with them, as opposed to my pre-poisoning friends.
Keep your eyes and ears open for these people. They have an incredible understanding for pain and hurt and will NOT treat you as a freak. My new friends and I also laugh alot about ourselves and our phobias and this is a really, really good thing to do.

I don't know if this will help anyone else, but for me, 600-800 mgs of magnesium, 3,000mg minimum of vitamin C with bioflavonoids, and a minimum of 6-8 capsules of Algin make all the difference. The Algin and magnesium are especially important!
After I had my amalgams removed, my anxiety and stress levels dropped dramatically. Now that I'm being re-exposed to mercury from the local coal-burning power plant, I'm noticing some of my mercury symptoms returning. The #1 symptom is anxiety/stress.
I know that people on this forum have experienced a lot of different reactions to chelation, whether it's using DMSA, ALA, chlorella, cilantro, etc. For me, I'm very hesitant to do much chelation at all, especially since even the amount of cilantro in Mexican salsa throws me off.
Perhaps taking supplements to build up your body first might work better than trying to chelate the mercury while you're in a weakened (physically or mentally/emotionally) condition. I know I hate feeling ill. So, if it takes me a lifetime to very slowly eliminate the mercury in my body in order to not have to feel sick while chelating, I'd rather take it slow and be functional.
In any case, hang in there! We're all here to help however we can, even if it's just to say you're not alone. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

Demi, you should pat yourself on the back for staying as sane as you are. Some in languishing in mental hospitals. Make sure you continually tell yourself it's the mercury. When you don't have this toxin, you cannot even be afraid, depressed or panicked, even if you try to, it doesn't happen (unless it's a genuine reason to be afraid). But you can't induce it or have fearful or odd thoughts. But with mercury? You fall into any trap and odd fears and symptoms.
I'mnot around people at all. my father is the only one around me and mostly I stay in my room because of my fears and behaviours and general debiliated condition.
waking up with panic attacks is what happens to me as well. I wake up in fear and heart pounding many times or I wake up in such a state of anguish, i'm in tears before i'm even fully awake. Just becoming conscious and not wanting to be alive and live another day with it all, but you have to.
It's a help to hear others gong through the same, but awful at the sametime.

Laura, I understand what you mean with the safe supplements, but unfortunately none of them will chelate the brain area. This is the poisoned area which is causing all the mental symptoms. The brain does not detox metals the same way as the rest of the body does. It holds onto them tightly and reports say it can take up to 40 years (and this means if you are not exposed to any new metals at all) for the poisoning to be detoxed.
Yes, take vitamins and minerals which will support the body's detox system and eat a very healthy, balanced diet to lower body amounts. But eventually one must try to remove the cause of the problem and that is metals stored in the brain.
Some are lucky to only have a low grade of poisoning. One sign of this is they actually notice a real difference just from changing the fillings. But then some have already too much metal stored in the brain area, and these will notice nothing from changing the fillings. These are the ones who experience serious, debilitating mental disorders, which just does not go away not matter how much vitamin C they take or how long they wait for things to improve in time........

You are absolutely correct. It can reach that point where most of the mercury is poisoning the brain, to where a person can just experience continual problems that don't seem able to be resolved.
But in order to chelate the brain, you have to make sure you're body area is detoxed, plus that there is no redistributed mercury floating around. Because you wind up worse for wear if you attempt to chelate the brain in either of those circumstances.
But other than that, yeah the brain and organs are the areas that end up poisoned and need to be reached eventually with something that can get right in like lipoic acid (used safely and low dose) and cilantro (though not enough is known about cilantro to be able to use it in such a way that is known to be safe).
Just what I've learned, and read, but I don't know if anybody has THE answer. Wish they did.

Thanks Bex. You sound a lot like me. And I know what you mean about it helping to hear others feel the same, and be awful at the same time. I try to warn people about amalgams, but they don't listen, and it's so terrible because they could end up the same. I too spend most of my time alone at home. I go shopping, go to the library, and wherever else I need to go, but I'm not good in social situations. I like to meet a couple of friends for lunch and even manage vacations and days out, but I always need the "control" factor. In that way, I often prefer to go places by myself as I don't have anyone else to think about. Having had OCD since I had amalgams (never had it before) I promised myself that I wouldn't let it stop me doing things that I really wanted too. It's been difficult, but I've always forced myself on with things. Some things I just have to admit defeat, but I am a very determined person. I got through school and university, although it wasn't easy. I just shut myself up in the library and didn't do much else at all. I liked it there because it was quiet and I could get on with my studies, which were a refuge in so many ways. I am a literature and book nut, lol, so you really have to be the kind of person who can be alone for that. Also I found it escapism to read and study. I rarely took up invitations to go places, and mostly kept to myself. I never had much friends, more like just people I knew well enough to sit with in lectures etc. At school I avoided lessons if I had to read or speak in front of someone (terribly shy) but at university I made myself do the seminars every week, but other than that I never said a word in the classes. The tutors always said it was a shame I was so introverted because I was apparently very bright. I was going to drop out of school because I was told I had to do a presentation, but the teacher said I didn't have to do it if it was distressing me so much. I hated P.E. classes, and always gave a note saying I was too sick to do it. I just couldn't cope with the things. I was afraid of getting hit with the ball or hockey stick or whatever. I know that I could have been taken to a special school for OCD sufferers and drugged to the hilt by 15, so in that way I'm glad that my parents never involved doctors. They wanted to at first, but like a lot of OCD sufferers, once someone began to suspect there was something wrong, I became an expert at hiding it, so my parents thought I was ok. Now my mother has OCD, and I 100% think it is the fillings because she was ok before she started having major amalgams placed. It's so hurtful to see her suffering, but nothing I can do because she won't admit the problem. They sent her to hospital, sent psychiatrists, but said she just had a touch of the "blues". Never did they ask what was in her mouth. I am so disillusoned with doctors, I totally am. I too often feel that I can't cope anymore. I just know that I have to be strong and use my God given talents in ways that I can. But it's difficult, especially as my home life is stressful with their being so much illness in the house (my sister has a lung condition and on puffers). I just try to escape into other things, and try not to think about it all. Now I know it's the mercury, I at least believe there is hope, and I do think I have had improvement since getting my root canal tooth extracted. As I've had other removals since, I have had resurgence of symptoms, but I try to be optimistc that in say 5 years time I will be more relaxed and happy. Hang in there, I'm sure that when the poison leaves our system, there will be improvements - it will just take time. Demi, you should pat yourself on the back for staying as sane as you are. In case it helps anyone on this thread, I want to share what changed in me mentally after my amalgam remove. I didn't write about these changes in my story because they had not occured yet or I didn't yet notice they were gone. - Inability to go to sleep. I took me 2 hours each night to get to sleep. My mind would race and my heart would pound and I was always too hot. - Felt horrible if I underslept or overslept. Now, I feel OK if I do either. The difference is amazing. - Fear of authority. This is gone. - Looping over conversations. I would re-live conversations for hours wondering if I said "the right thing". - Evil imaginations. If driving, I would constantly imagine car accidents. If in a conversation, I would constantly imagine saying something stupid. If on a high balcony, I would imagine falling off. At night, I would imagine someone breaking into my house. No matter what the situation, I would imagine something bad happening. - Low self esteem and anti-social behavior. I would avoid social situations because of my low self-image. - Inability to concentrate/focus/listen/read. Reading a book, I would be half way through a paragraph and find that my mind was somewhere else and have no idea what I just read. The same would happen with conversations. I would also have trouble understanding deeper concepts. - Short-term memory. I would not remember a person's name for more than a few seconds after they told it to me. - Long-term memory. I would remember faces but not their names. - Compulsive programming and not trusting myself. I would make sure everything was straight at the dinner table. I could not go to sleep until everything was done that I wanted to finish. I could not multitask. I had to finish one project before starting another. - Lonliness. I suffered extreme pain of this type since my teen years. - Compulsion. I would be computer programming (part of my job) and feel thirst and get up and head to the kitchen before realizing what I was doing. - Fear of rejection. Related to low self-image, I would avoid relationships for fear of rejection, even though I had a number of relationships with women who I knew would have married me. - Fear of commitment. Related to the inability to trust myself, I would not commit to things for fear that I would fail or that a better opportunity would come along. - Depression. Related to my low self esteem, I constantly felt pain and thought about suicide almost daily. I now realize that I may have been diagnosed with OCD, and clinical depression had I not been so good at hiding my feelings. These issues went away within 3 years of having my fillings removed. It has revolutionized my life.

I never knew what a panic attack felt like up until last January, its definitly mercury. I get them often now, with very negative feelings. I sometimes wake up crying and shaking, even though i dont have amalgams anymore.

Thanks for posting that list Russ, that sounds exactly like me for my whole life....I inherited mercury from my mother's teeth...thru the placenta and breastmilk and then followed that up with vaccines and 14 amalgam fillings.
I have a feeling my 2 sons have the same problems from my amalgams, one has more mental and emotional issues and the other has more physical ones. It breaks my heart to think of the hurdles they will have to face and they don't believe it when I tell them what will help them. Thank God they don't have any mercury amalgams.
People tell us not to be obsessed with illness, but it is hard when I think of how it has affected me and my whole family. And I look around me and see the effects of addictions and obesity and disabilities and wonder how many of them are that way because of mercury toxiicity. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I cant say as i was very young when i got the fillings. It has taken 30 yrs for me to have severe symptoms and this is very common. Although i had symptoms years ago with one thing or another, i didnt relate it to mercury, i just thought i was weak.

I have been constipated and had digestive problems since birth, and I used to look at pictures of me when I was a young child and wondered why I always looked so unhappy and scared and sad, now I know it was because of the mercury....the stuff has controlled my moods and health for my entire life and my 2 sisters as well. My brother is not bad yet as he is only 37, but he is exhibiting signs of yeast and he alot of anger and rage..really explosive attacks. I truly believe that if they examined the brains of most serial killers, they would find heavy concentrations of mercury.
