What, you don't like that idea? here try this one. When the planes are flying overhead doing their nasty business, claim your airspace. Now, they have to be exactly directy overhead for this to work properly.

What you do is this. First, you go buy a few cansiters of helium, some nylon or other filament string, you'll need a whole bunch of string, and a few hundred medium size balloon, normal balloons are fine or you can get the heavier helium grade type. Ideallly your balloons should be colored blue and white to match the color of the sky, you might get some grey ones to match the color of the plumes too.

then you invite all your friends over for cousin cindy's birthday party.

You and your friends fill up your balloons with helium and ty them 5 or 6 each to a piece of string about the length of two or three football fields. You need A LOT of string.

As you see the planes headed your way the balloons will somehow start getting loose from where you tied them somehow or another, that just always happens, it's murphy's law. Hundred of balloons headed skyward marking a vertical grid to compare to the horiziontal grid that the jets are laying in the air.

it's a lot like 3d chess.

Or you could have a really big kite party too. Jet pilots love to see kites in their paths. I like smiley face kites best, kinda friendly.
