Just came back from the dentist, had the last two amalgam teeth pulled , that's total 5 teeth that I've lost due to amalgams and now i will have hard time chewing things up, I hate this sacrifice I have to take to get well , it better all pays off. I still dont know if I'm gonna make it with chelation the way things are looking with the state I'm in. if chelation doesn't work ASAP, I'm pretty much f*cked up.
I also wanted to sday sorry to those who find my crying-out posts annoying, but they really DO reflect the state I'm in, and this forum is the only support I have.
take care everyone

Jinx, WELL DONE mate. I'm so glad you took some action, and it sounds like it might well have been the most sensible move in your situation. I'm so glad, you can start to move forward now and get the poison out of your body. I'm sure lots of people here will be happy to help you out with that.
I understand when you come here saying you feel desperate, and I know others here do too, because we've been there, at least to a degree. When I thought I had SAD and nothing I did seemed to help, I would go on my SAD forum and just rant and talk about how desperate I was. No one there could actually help me in a constructive way though they tried. It was nice to hear some consolation but at the end of the day I knew I just had to keep trying to sort things out myself. It's hard when you don't know where to turn, you've tried so many things and you can't seem to see any options left.
Please let us know how you are getting on. For my part, I would suggest working on strengthening your body by making sure your diet is clean, and taking the supplements recommended here, e.g. vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, B complex, Algin, etc. When your body is fortified in this way it can cope with things like chelation a lot better.
It's really given me a perk tonight, reading this. I felt for you but didn't know what I could say. You are a brave person
Linda.

hey congrats! gl with everything. i know what you mean about the mental symptoms because they're one of my worst too along with the digestive symptoms. i don't think your "cry out" posts are annoying. at least it makes me feel that i'm not alone in this. like somebody else feels my pain and it's so rare here to find anybody who acts like they understand and this is nyc. keep going

thanx linda and ih8u for your reponses and encouragement! I need some opinions now on how to chelate. Since I had the teeth pulled and my last mercury exposure was almost 10months ago, should I be thinking of getting ala on board soon? I'm pretty sure I have high body burden so first I would need to chelate with dmsa but how long before adding ala?
trace - gotcha;)

Good going Jinx.!!!! yes it is a sacrifice, but your health comes before having those teeth. I'm sorry you had to lose them, but I am hoping you will gain your health back with chelation. I think you got a lot of people on here that understand and support you. We want you to at least get past the worst of these intense symptoms.
As your blood/tissue levels of mercury are probably still high, they will take time to reduce. The body only starts reducing it after there is NO more amalgam left. So your body should probably be starting already and you will either have to wait for the levels to reduce over time naturally OR you can use DMSA to speed this up and maybe even improve your symptoms along the way. DMSA seems to be helping a few on here Jinx and I hope the same for you. I believe this stuff does FAR more than it's being given credit for.
It seems best to start it at as low a dose as you possibly can. THe problem is finance! The stuff is not cheap. But if you can find a way of getting some? I would buy 25 mg capsules and then spit them up to take half that amount (12.5 mg doses). MUST be taken every 4 hours around the clock, so unfortunately this means waking up at night as well (get a little timer/alarm clock for this). You need only do this for about 3 days (some choose to do it for longer). And then you take a break for 3 days or longer. Repeat this cycle for about 2-3 months, until you have reduced some of the body/blood burden of mercury.
Then you are able to use ALA (either alone or with DMSA). ALA need to be taken every 3 hours preferably because it seems to be used up a little quicker than DMSA in the blood.

Jinx:
I am glad you are ready to chelate now. Follow your own gut instinct, but my advice is don't be afraid to go slow, and stay a little longer on dmsa before adding ALA.
Instead of 3 months on dmsa, I waited 4 to make sure I wasn't dumping back into the brain. And don't be afraid to stop and take breaks for a week or two if it gets to be too much. As Bex mentioned, start with low dosages.
When doing ALA and dmsa I do two things to help minimize redistribution at end - one, I drop the ALA for the last 3 or 4 doses, doing just dmsa, and I take Algin to help absorb anything.
I hope all goes well - I understand what you have been going through to some extent - this thing has kicked me around for quite a while now....there were days I could not even carry on conversations with people.
This may sound silly, but if it strikes you to do so, find anything to get your mind off this thing - do fun things if you do not feel too sick. For me, nothing better than a good book, or movie, or getting outdoors to run/walk. And picture yourself healthy as you used to be, sometimes that helped me get better. Just 5 minutes here and there, not judging, but just feeling like it is behind you, and all is well. The power of the mind is very strong - I really believe if you can find something to laugh about, you can be healed.

jinx I doubt most people who followed your situation for even a little bit are annoyed by your posting. I mean I can see where newcomer would read one post and get put off, but It's obvious to anyone who pays attention that your state is rather dire. Even if I can't say I've been as bad as you, I've had enough a taste to know how messed up this mercury stuff can get. I'm happy to read todays post, not cause it's a great thing to lose teeth, but at least in this case it's progress. Just keep fighting as long as you can! Good luck with the chelation.

Congratulations Jinx, great stuff!!! You are on your way....but take your time, don't jump into any heavy chelation right away. I have read that your body does that on it's own for up to six months afterwards....no point putting any more stress on yourself.
Again, congrats!!!!! That is super news!!!

Well done Jinx!! Now you can move forward and chelate. I'm so glad you had the teeth pulled.
I would play things straight down the line and wait for 4 months before introducing ALA. Just concentrate on nourishing your body, and be gentle to yourself when you feel rubbish.
REALLY glad you had it done...

I've lost a few teeth from amalgams too Jinx, not the end of the world, I prefer the teeth but they really cracked mine up so it was useless trying to keep them plus the possibility of additional issues from sensitivity to composite material. I am real allergic to the flowable stuff they use and on cracked teeth they would have to use a lot of that. so sayonara teeth.
Have to change the diet just a tad, molars and chewing surfaces like you say, my favorite meal of prime rib isn't such a favorite anymore but the red meat in quantities I used to eat it probably wasn't really that good for me anyway. I can still eat it, chew slowly, I'm a lotter better with hamburgers though really what I miss is munching on nuts. Have to pretty much forget about that. I will figure out other ways to eat them though, like ground in cookies and stuff.

Jinx,
Chelation doesn't work instantaneously. It takes time to get rid of the symptoms. Althought you will see major improvements in the first rounds, I would recommend, NAY, I would URGE you, given your psychotic symptoms, to go slowly with low dosages of DMSA-only at first, then a few rounds later and only then, to add ALA at low dosages too. (or whatever other chelator you might be using)
Good luck !

hello everyone!
thanx to everybody for their kind input, just wanted to let u guys know that I finished chelation round 1 dmsa 12,5mg yesterday, did it for 3 days and didn't feel worse , just a slight head pressure. So I guess that's positive. Thinking of starting round 2 tomorrow even with 25mg, I know I know, but I think my body could handle it and I want to get this crap out of me ASAP. cost me too much already.
take care guys

Hi Jinx, good going!!!! I really hope this will be of help, but I would be very very cautious in increasing the dose at this early stage. Symptoms can hit you all at once, so be careful. 25 mg is a good dose, but for some it is still too high.
The main thing though is making sure you're taking it every 4 hours like clockwork. This seems to be the most important part according to Andy.
This is a good start Jinx, wishing you well. take care and keep us posted.

Hi Jinx!
I'm so happy you are finally there. It is my experience that the cycles on DMSA only are much easier than the cycles with both DMSA and ALA. From what I have observed, it is ALA that caused me the real mobilisation symptoms. The more ALA I took, the worse I felt after the cycle. However, you have to consider that I wasn't as mercury toxic as you are. It is quite possible that DMSA in strong doses could give you strong symptoms. But from what I've read from your posts, can you be any worse??? I guess it's always possible. Be prudent, but don't be afraid to get things done either -- I feel this is what you understand already.
Good luck friend ! Hope to hear more of your progress news soon. Sincerly,
Epistemologicus

I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that, jinx, seriously. That is a huge step for you. Its great to hear you're doing DMSA too. Clay is good for getting rid of mercury too, I don't know if you've heard much about it but it is cheap and it works. I think clay and DMSA would be a good combo. Good luck.
