Hello Sunshine, Linda Lou and Lawstudent, everyone - thanks for this great information - it seems we all finally stumbled on this as an answer. Yes, Thank God for the internet - despite the contradictory info that drives me crazy, it has been a lifesaver. I found my new doctor, a lady into thyroid issues, on the net. She has been great and very supportive. She mentioned mercury fillings to me!

In general, I don't want to be totally down on doctors, as I think they can save your life in emergencies. The problem now, I think, is that they see you for 5 minutes, and they are heavily influenced by the drug companies. As we all know now, mercury causes so many things it is hard to diagnose. In the future, maybe electronic records will let them retain much more info and maybe we can fill out diagnostic tools on the PC first before going.

You know, we put a man on the moon years ago, so why do we not have equipment to view mercury in our bodies? Like X-Rays, Laser or something? Or a stone cold test at least to be able to say "You have got mercury poisoning, stage 3" or whatever? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> I mean right now, who knows how much mercury is in our tissues? The sheep and monkey studies used radioactive material, gotta be something safer than that.

Later,

TW.
