Thanks for your post Sunshine, it was really interesting. We seem to be on parallel journeys in a way. I also had my amalgams removed because I'd tried lots of other things, believing each time that they would help, but they didn't. It's still possible that my main problem, depression, is an issue stemming from current difficulties in my life, but while I am working on those I, too, arrived at mercury as next on the to-do list.

At first, as the depression started in September, and I have a history of the winter blues, I thought I'd developed full-blown SAD. I ended up with 2 light visors and a huge light box. Used them for hours and hours every day. A little help there, but not much.

Then I discovered a programme called Radiant Recovery, which claims that certain people have something called "sugar sensitivity" and they can heal this by eliminating sugar and white flour from their diets. This is all really funny to me now. Again this helped some, but not a lot.

Kept going downhill, and in a panic, not knowing what other options were open to me, and visualising myself as eventually ending up in a psych ward, I started antidepressants. Nope, still no help.

When I came off the drugs I joined a list that teaches proper healthy eating, and gives a good supplement protocol. I thought for sure my problems must be due to nutritional deficiencies. Well . . . not so much really. Though this, by far, has been the biggest help I've had so far.

I've done other things like Tai Chi, tried this and that, looked into various kinds of spirituality when I felt able.

The latest step has been amalgam removal and chelation. I believe the chelation is helping; but whether it will help beyond the initial worsening of symptoms that I got when the amalgams were removed, I don't know.

I share everyone's dislike for doctors on this thread. We are taught to trust them, that they can help us. When we become seriously ill it's a bit of a slap in the face to find out it's a pack of lies. I'm amazed you found one who told you to educate yourself, Sunshine. Rare indeed.

There's more knowledge about certain things on this forum than probably what 99% of doctors possess LOL. I'm glad I found my way here and I'm glad you did too Sunshine.

Linda.
