Hello all:

Excuse me for maybe being out of line, but how did each of you finally figure out it was dental filllings causing your problems? Could you give a line or two on how you put it all together? Where did you get your information?

Thank-you!

Hi TW, this is a tough one. I think I figured out I was being poisoned by "something", because I kept tasting metal. I smelt of metal when I would sweat. I had shivering and tremors and blue nails. My tongue also had tremors....I think common sense came into it.

I did not even "know" about mercury poisoning at this stage. But I knew I was being poisoned by these symptoms. On top of this, my body (legs in particular) were often bloated with swollen puffy tissue. I was not even eating much. This can also be a sign that the body tries to buffer the toxins by fluid.

So for me it was more the bizzare symptom profile that was the key. I was labelled as having just "candida" or "Chronic fatigue" but for me? The symptoms suggested there was more to it. Coming across an article in a magazine on amalgam toxicity and someone's story of recovery from the removal, to suddenly see my own symptoms there on a page in front of me was a shock. For the first time I could relate to something.

I was getting sicker and sicker every year. I've always had health issues. I'd get a little sicker every year and more fatiigued. But in the last two years my health was getting so bad I was starting to think I had HIV or cancer or something! Something was just very very wrong.

So I went online searching for one of my strange ailments. "Low body temperature". I could never regulate my body temperature. There were times I'd wake up and it wouldn't even register on the thermometer it was so low! It could regularly be at about 94 degrees when I'd wake up or even the middle of the day a little higher than that. But it was always low all the time. And I always felt cold and like I was "room temperature" or something. I can't explain the feeling. Just like I didn't produce my own heat.

Anyway I ran into a website and I had all the symptoms of "wilsons disorder". I definitely had that! So I researched that. And found a comment by a doctor in the comments section on one page. He said something like 'yeah doctors will treat you for things but they never tell you why it's happening. A little bit of prevention can fix it. It's a thyroid disorder!"

He then went on to say that it is caused by a bad thyroid that gets attacked by your own body.... because of MERCURY. Your body sees the Mercury and attacks the foreign substance trying to do what it's suppose to do.

I then looked up "Mercury poisoning". And what do you know. It was in my fillings! It all made sense now. As I thought back to all the times I'd been sick and the progression of my sicknesses it was all related to when more of my fillings would be put in. Every single symptom I had was in there.

I've since had my toxic fillings taken out.. I feel better than I've felt in years. Still some ways to go. What I always thought was just a coating on my tongue I now see is yeast. It would get up into my sinuses and throat also. Still have to fight that. but I feel my immune system is fighting back and getting stronger all the time. And my brain is so much clearer now.

There are like a millon more details but I'll leave it at that. Someday I'm going to post my entire experience for boards when I write it up.

You know whats sad. My mom had her thyroid removed. I bet it was Mercury (and chlorine in water is very bad too for the thyroid). Stupid doctors, just throw pills at you or remove somethiing instead of telling patients it can be reversed and healed.

Bex and V1001:

Thank you for responding!

Hi Bex. - you are such a sweetheart! We are on the same journey, and I have already talked to you before as KAW. I will stay with you, we both have the same composites - and I wonder about them.

V1001 - yes! Me too. I tracked body temperature and looked into Wilson's !!! Wow, my body temp was low too! Listen to this - when the filliings came out, I recorded my temp and it raised like a half degree each time fillings came out. Cooincidence? I think not! There is something to this - it is about time modern medicine started recognizing such things. I was recording 96.3 I think at my lowest, and it should be 97.4.

I have got some ideas on this, and will post again.

Have a great night - I gotta get some sleep.

I finally went to an ND that I had heard so much about, as I had been fighting candida for 2 years on my own and kept relapsing. He told me right off the hop that if I had persistant candida and mercury fillings, I most likely was suffering from hmt, heavy metal toxicity.

My temps run about 96 and my bp about 95/60, classic symptoms of hmt.

Best luck with your journey to health TW, I wish I had known about this when I was much younger, may have avoided a cancer diagnosis.

Hi TW! I do definitely remember someone with the same composites as me, so cool to know who that was <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> and yes I wonder about them also (big time). Filtek supreme. I think they have an active phenol component or something. Which has turned out a bad one for me on the serum test (whether that is very accurate though is another question).

Are you going to get them out? Because I think I'm going to and by now they probably need redoing anyway. It's a worry considering I've met three different people now with them who are not doing well....so coincidence ? I dont know. Serum test also confirmed they were "not suitable"....so it maybe a contributing factor, but again cannot be sure. Thanks for catching up with me!

When I finally put it all together was about 14 monthes ago , after going from doctor to doctor for about 5 years health getting worse every year ,had dental work done by a regular dentist, after that visit my symtoms got worse and stayed that way for about 3-4 months ,that is when I knew that mercury had to be causing the problem , and been doing much better since having them removed ( the thing that really upset me was every time I would mention the possibility of mercury being the problem to the doctors ,they would look at me like I had three heads and discount it right away ( so just because they have a medical degree on the wall doesn't mean sh*t to me anymore.

Hello everyone:

Sandi - I also wish I could have figured this out earlier. I pray that you will find your way to health too.

Bex - It seems kind of early to replace, but I sure want to know what is safe before I do anything. Funny thing is I paid $265 for the Huggins people to do a serum compatibility test, which indicated that this material was good. However, think about it - that test is done in days or hours - who knows about something being in your mouth for years?

Heavymetalme - yes, my experience has completely shaken my faith in the current medical system. I stood in front of my doctor for years saying something is wrong, and was diagnosed with symptoms, but never got to the root cause. Instead, when they run out of options, they tell you it must be anxiety, and try to give you drugs for it. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

For me Mercury was just “next on the to-do list.”
75pct of the doctors I saw where just completely useless, more often than not telling me misleading information, leading me in the wrong direction.
The next 24pct where better, but they are only any good at whatever they specialised in, not the big picture. then I found one guy that was pretty good, but the best thing he did was open my eyes & point me in the right direction, showed me that only “I” can heal myself by educating myself.
My health has been declining for years and everything I have done has helped but my health continued to fall even after everything.

3 years of Yoga, 5 days a week was excellent, but health still declined.
Then I could not do yoga, so tried Alexander technique, another 3 years with about 250 lessons (yes 250!), practise 2-3 times per day, everyday without fail, but again health still declined.
Change of diet did produce very good results, but health still declined.

Then I stumbled upon ww.Curezone.com, from there I went on the “healing protocol”
It is a list of measures to heal&cure.
-loads of liver flushes
-bowel cleanses
-kidney cleanses
-ultra limited diet and a host of other special diets.

again they all worked, but still something is holding me back. By this time I have become VERY body aware, mostly because of the Alexander Technique, and it is blindingly obvious (to me) that “something” is still holding me back. I should have been an extremely health person because of all the health regaining activities I have engaged in. At best I am treading water.

So next on the curezone list is “dental cleanup.” So I started reading about dental clean-up’s. I asked a few questions on curezone forum and I got some cool book recommendations from some helpful friends <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
All my symptoms match those of mercury toxic. My history points to that too.
It LOOKS like mercury is my root cause, but to be totally honest all the other procedures, protocols, exercises, routines, diets as mentioned above have all seemed at the time that they would sort me out, and they didn’t………..

I am currently in the middle of removal of my amalgams and I continue to educate myself.

Still to be done is a parasite cleanse, although this is not the answer as I have had plenty of tests and they all came negative for parasites, but will do one anyway. Humaworm, its sitting in my bathroom ready for action. Will prob start in 1-2 weeks when I have finished my current kidney cleanse, and depending how I feel after removal of more metal!

Thanks for your post Sunshine, it was really interesting. We seem to be on parallel journeys in a way. I also had my amalgams removed because I'd tried lots of other things, believing each time that they would help, but they didn't. It's still possible that my main problem, depression, is an issue stemming from current difficulties in my life, but while I am working on those I, too, arrived at mercury as next on the to-do list.

At first, as the depression started in September, and I have a history of the winter blues, I thought I'd developed full-blown SAD. I ended up with 2 light visors and a huge light box. Used them for hours and hours every day. A little help there, but not much.

Then I discovered a programme called Radiant Recovery, which claims that certain people have something called "sugar sensitivity" and they can heal this by eliminating sugar and white flour from their diets. This is all really funny to me now. Again this helped some, but not a lot.

Kept going downhill, and in a panic, not knowing what other options were open to me, and visualising myself as eventually ending up in a psych ward, I started antidepressants. Nope, still no help.

When I came off the drugs I joined a list that teaches proper healthy eating, and gives a good supplement protocol. I thought for sure my problems must be due to nutritional deficiencies. Well . . . not so much really. Though this, by far, has been the biggest help I've had so far.

I've done other things like Tai Chi, tried this and that, looked into various kinds of spirituality when I felt able.

The latest step has been amalgam removal and chelation. I believe the chelation is helping; but whether it will help beyond the initial worsening of symptoms that I got when the amalgams were removed, I don't know.

I share everyone's dislike for doctors on this thread. We are taught to trust them, that they can help us. When we become seriously ill it's a bit of a slap in the face to find out it's a pack of lies. I'm amazed you found one who told you to educate yourself, Sunshine. Rare indeed.

There's more knowledge about certain things on this forum than probably what 99% of doctors possess LOL. I'm glad I found my way here and I'm glad you did too Sunshine.

I had minor health issues for 20 years that culminated in being virtually bedridden from exhaustion. I never got answers through traditional medical means, and slowly I got well enough to function.

Exactly one year ago I found out about mercury because I had had unexplained pains in my side. An internet search led me to celiac disease (gluten sensitivity). A message forum there mentioned that a lot of celiacs had yeast problems or that there was some similarity in the symptoms, so I researched that and found a yeast forum. In the yeast forum, I read several posts inquiring if amalgam fillings had been removed, so I followed up on that and voila! I found it. The mercury symptoms coincided with nearly all of my symptoms, even some I didn't realize were symptoms. I liken my journey to following a breadcrumb trail. Thank goodness for the internet, or I would still be clueless. The reason for the year delay was because I needed to change my diet first and address a root canal before moving on to the mercury removal.

My regular temp for years has been 96.8, and I constantly freeze. My BP has been usually 90/60. I am having my amalgams removed now and am interested to see what differences may occur.

Hi Linda. Another ex-party aminal! Ooooohhhh….now we pay the price for all that fun!
I got big time depressed when I had to give up hard drugs(E). I didn’t think at the time I was that bad, but that’s because I was completely ignorant about depression. I am a bloke; we don’t go to doctors and say stuff like that! I got through mine with, first the yoga and the big one for me was learning the Alexander Technique. (again all my own discoveries) Alex T….that’s hardcore…….. well it was for me. It enabled me to continue my life. In fact it saved my life, really is brilliant, but was very hard. It was the only thing that kept me together for 2.5 years after I stopped recovering.
Looking back now it is what stopped me going mad. When I first started Alex T all my muscles where rigid, rock hard, I was like a walking plank of wood. My shoulders felt like they had bags of rocks inside them. How the hell I have managed to keep my excellent job is beyond me! I guess its lucky I love my job. Ditto my family.
I still practice everyday without fail.

Yes I thought I had SAD. Read all about sunlight therapy. Sat in the garden in my pants sunbathing at 6am….LOL
But whatever, sunshine is good for me, I always feel better when I have been out in sunshine. The longer the better.

“I'm amazed you found one who told you to educate yourself, Sunshine. Rare indeed.”
- he didn’t tell me to educate myself, that doesn’t work with anyone, especially not people (like me) with zero proper (holistic) health knowledge. But what he did do was show me incredible stuff that blew my mind and then asked enough questions to make me investigate……..and one thing lead to another….and here I am.

Please to meet you LindaLou

Hello Sunshine, Linda Lou and Lawstudent, everyone - thanks for this great information - it seems we all finally stumbled on this as an answer. Yes, Thank God for the internet - despite the contradictory info that drives me crazy, it has been a lifesaver. I found my new doctor, a lady into thyroid issues, on the net. She has been great and very supportive. She mentioned mercury fillings to me!

In general, I don't want to be totally down on doctors, as I think they can save your life in emergencies. The problem now, I think, is that they see you for 5 minutes, and they are heavily influenced by the drug companies. As we all know now, mercury causes so many things it is hard to diagnose. In the future, maybe electronic records will let them retain much more info and maybe we can fill out diagnostic tools on the PC first before going.

You know, we put a man on the moon years ago, so why do we not have equipment to view mercury in our bodies? Like X-Rays, Laser or something? Or a stone cold test at least to be able to say "You have got mercury poisoning, stage 3" or whatever? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> I mean right now, who knows how much mercury is in our tissues? The sheep and monkey studies used radioactive material, gotta be something safer than that.

Later,

TW.

There's that study they did where they put amalgam fillings in sheep and monkeys. You can see something like an x-ray that shows where all the mercury got concentrated. I don't know if the animals were alive or if they had to be dead in order for those measurements to be taken. But yes it would be so very beneficial to show someone a schematic of their body that clarified where the mercury was. Maybe we'll have to wait until the general public has accepted that many people are mercury-poisoned, and then they'll develop the technology.

Re sheep. The sheep where alive, they drilled and filled some of the sheeps teeth with amalgam fillings. The mercury was also tagged with radioactive gunk to track where the mercury was spread to in the body. The sleep chew grass all day long, grind the amalgams, release the mercury. Sheep where then killed, I think 10 days later and dissected and the radiation was tracked which showed where the mercury had settled. Lovely.

I guess what I am driving at is I think the technology is already there, or something new could be invented using nanotechnology or whatever. I mean, I saw an X-Ray picture of a bird in national geographic that showed lead that somehow got in it. X-Rays show heavy metals.

Are there not any brainy people out there yet who have figured out what such a imaging device would be worth? Billions - if it could give an accurate picture of what is inside us. And show us when the mercury is gone.

For now, though, we do have blood and hair tracking which Huggins and Cutler recommend. But that is less convincing, no? Maybe we should encourage universities to start testing what might work?

First and foremost I have to focus on getting myself better before I could possibly consider some holy crusade to save the world. No one is gonna believe a sick person.

Just being involved in these forums, we are all helping spread the word. I know without the internet I would have had no hope of recovery as regular doctors are worse than useless.

The knowledge to diagnose is available to all right now, we don’t need some new fancy machine, it’s the dispensing of the knowledge that is easier said than done. But just the fact that we are here discussing these things means that times are a changing, the balance away from traditional western medicine is starting wobble, just a fraction.

I was experiencing brain fog and my teeth had a black film that didn't brush off. An electromagnetic body scan via my naturopath showed high levels of metal. She said that tetracycline I'd had as a young adult stored in my teeth and the mercury vapors from the fillings bound to the tetracycline, hence the black teeth.

Hello all:

I have struggled so hard with this, and I know what I propose might be wishful thinking. But not really, people are dealing with some new technology out there that will blow us all away. I grew up believing in a life we could love and share. But it seems life is not what we think in this world. I believe I was told by Spirit that this was the problem years ago. But who would have believed?

In any case the damage is done, and the best all of us can do is band together to figure out ways to get better. I am personally sick of it. But I know that others suffer like I do, and want answers. So -- I want to focus my efforts on anything that will help us do that. When I read of others suffering like I did, I about go crazy - I can picture myself with no answers walking around feeling like I was about to die.

I have been tracking blood and hair results for a while now, and if anyone is interested, I would share those. You can definitely see some patterns, and without a road map, how do you know if you are getting better or worse?

I base this on both Cutler's and Huggin's work - though I think both of them reach for it at times!

As for me, I have tried most of it, NDF+, regular chelation with Cutler's method, I have NCD (which I have put aside for now, as I know little about it) and heavy supplementation - which I think is great, but you must do intelligently.

Have I gotten better? You better believe it, though my life is still wrecked, I can actually read a page or two and get by at work. For a while there, I was convinced that I would be on disability.

Let me tell you what, I love beer and pizza, so how the hell do you deal with that? Candida diet???? I have already given up sugar, caffeine, and a lot of other stuff. It ain't right, period. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

This thing has made me feel, at different time, a leper, a fool, and basically helpless. Now I want to even the score and help others.

I love beer and pizza too. eat it (both) all the time.

Just go easy on it. keep some psyllium fiber on the shelf to take after a meal like pizza or pasta (use whole wheat pasta, the other will clump in your stimach, is hard to get rid of).

Wowie zowie I made some chili con carne yesterday and I think that cleared my colon out for the next three weeks. I kept it in on the mild side... I love salsa too, make my own fresh from the garden though.

Hi TW, i'm with you. I love pizza also, and add donuts to the bargain and plenty of other stuff. But the yeast adore it even more so I think, which is probably why we crave it so much.

How does one deal with this? Well, one may have no choice if the symptoms and suffering are bad enough the sacrifice of these foods maybe little suffering in comparison with the results of eating them.

It depends on how ill a person is, how bad they have candida and how badly they want alleviation of symptoms. I desperately crave these foods, but my life is a mess of symptoms, so I figure I dont have much choice but to stop eating them. I know what they do to me, therefore either I continue on as I am, or go through the discomfort of cravings to reach a high state of health....here's hoping. Unfortunately beer and pizza is a bad move if you have candida. But look, here is a recipe to a homemade "safe" pizza you may find interesting.

Trust me, you can definitely do this diet. i am Miss Piggy on these foods, and I am struggling badly too, but I am trying to hang in there and hope I can get through the first weeks of symptoms and cravings and come through the other side better off.

also, sorry for missing your earlier post! Yeah, who knows how accurate the serum testing is. And you are right, something that is going to be in the mouth 24/7 for years on end is another story. But again, we are kind of at the mercy of all this because there really isn't much else. I would prefer to do testing than not I think. No material is ideal, but there are some that appear to be tolerated by the more chemically sensitive.

Hello SS - thanks for the advice. I do have some psyllium fiber.

Thanks Bex for the recipe. It actually looks like it might be pretty tasty - so maybe I will try it! I never used almond flour before. You know, the thought behind chelating is that if you remove the mercury, those other problems will go - although with candida, I think you have to also help it by adding probiotics and sticking to diet, and maybe in end stages adding a mild antifungal - but not too early. I think chelation is working, as at times, my tounge starts clearing. But sometimes I just feel weird/bad, and I just want to stop the whole chelation business.

About the safest material, my inclination is back towards Cerac - I read about it before, but dismissed it as being very expensive - my thinking then was surely most composites would be quite safe, and not contain anything bad in them. Well, there I go assuming again - not always a good thing to do. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> Ouch, Cerac could really cost a lot, and what if there is something equally acceptable for much less???? I have heard good things about Diamondlite? Maybe we should poll on who has what, for how long, and how are they doing?

HI TW,

I hope this "healthy pizza" isn't a bad idea, because it's got cheese and not everybody can handle cheese with candida...so here's hoping if you do try it that it's not deterimental.

Yeah I tend to go towards cerec also because I dont quite trust the petrochemicals in the plastics and the fact that they wear down easier and dont last as long. I know plenty do ok on Diamond, some do not. Cerec? No doubt the same thing. It's highly expensive I know, but perhaps in the long run it maybe worth it...But I would not go near a dentist who was not highly experienced in using this stuff.

We could do a poll I guess. Perhaps on any dental materials and ask people how they feel about them and whether they felt they were biocompatible. etc. It's hard to tell though because some people get very ill after amalgam removal and do not know whether to attribute it to the replacement material or the procedure itself (exposure to mercury) or the dumping stage of mercury. So it is very hard to know.

Hey Bex:

I know what you mean; I can't separate out affects of mercury vs. plastic in any intelligent way. I can only say that it seems I feel, maybe, some new symptoms which might be plastic as they never were there before - one might be more fatigue. But there are way too many other factors.

Did you ever experience any reaction at all to your composites?

HI TW, same here. It's hard to know and the thing is, with mercury toxicity you can become highly suseptible to other things and react to almost anything. You can find once you have detoxed enough mercury, your sensitivities and being so suseptible usually fades.

I think personally that the most problems with composites is the petrochemicals inside a mercury toxic body. But again if you are sure of incompatibility with all or some of the composites, it maybe wise to get a good solid biocompatible material. And it's wise to get mre than one type of testing done. Serum testing is good, but getting a few more like EAV testing etc can help to and narrow things down.

I do not know if what i'm experiencing is to do with the plastics in my teeth or not. It's a mystery. And will replacing them with cerec really be worth it? I dont know, but I dont know what else to do. I'm narrowing things down as much as I can. anything to function better. I dont need 100% health, just more than I have! And I'd say most on this forum long for the same.

Hi Bex:

Sorry so long to get back to you on this.

I have yet to research EAV testing. Will do that soon. You know, I hope something can bring you out of this. There has got to be answers, and I feel that somewhere, someone has those answers, as there is nothing new under the sun. Somebody somewhere has probably gone through all this and been healed. I hope we are next on that list.

Please let me know if you get your fillings replaced, and what you chose! You really know alot about many things related to this. As for me, I have probably 3000 hours in reading and studying things I knew little about - how crazy is that? That was the only option left - do you not feel at times that this is so much madness? Dentists put things in your mouth, little is testing is done, and we all sit around and wonder what it is all about. After most conventional doctors don't have conclusive answers.

Have a great night.
