And I would think that being mercury poisoned, it would show you that biology overwhelms who you are, your "soul".
If a simple substance can completely change/destroy who you are, no matter how strong willed are you, then it would seem that we are all just a bunch of chemicals randomly interacting, not "God's loved children"

I expect a response as vague as "thats how the lord works" or "god is just testing your faith"
