Sorry guys, for yet another thread.

Today I had the last 3 of my amalgams removed. However, my gag reflexes betrayed me and I made several tiny gulps throughout the drilling. This was at a regular dentist's office.

Prior to entering the office, I took 4 activated charcoal capsules. Anyway, after the drilling and refilling were done, I rinsed my mouth with regular water and I saw tiny bits of amalgam parts come as i rinsed. Probably like 5 tiny pieces in 3 rinses, but what made me REALLY nervous was that the dentist's assistant said that it's not a big deal if I did swallow the amalgam. They were aware that I might have beforehand.

I was horrified. I went and rinsed with activated charcoal. When I got home, I stuck my finger down my throat and tried to get some back out. I saw some dark stuff, that was probably just from the activated charcoal. Oh right and a nice bit of blood.

Then I showered and washed my hair. I was so stressed out that I saw pizza and dumplings and had a nice fat binge on those. Finished everything. I didn't even have enough sense to take activated charcoal or algin after I got home.

I was just angry and annoyed. Two of the amalgams were pretty big which is why I'm a bit nervous now. I plan on using oxypowder soon though. Help get the stuff out of my system asap. And lots of sweating.

Also, is it too soon to start detoxing with clay and a parasite formula? I assume I should be mercury dumping soon and heard that mercury would only strengthen the parasites and doesn't mercury dumping mean I'd have more mercury flying around my body getting ready to dump themselves out? Thanks.

nope no rubber dam. no anything haha. except for the sucker thing that sucked the vapor out of my teeth and probably majority of the amalgam pieces. i don't feel good or bad.

last time i had several small ones removed without any precautions as well. just my activated charcoal and epsom bath + oxypowder. too bad i'm on my period so no epsom bath. and after that i felt great and lighter. oh right and my skin started to clear up so i was all <3 this time its bigger, so thats a different story and i took 3 little gulps.

sounds so familiar... well you'll know in the morning.

A really stiff neck is usuallly the first symptom.

I'd opt for the colonic as usual to clean out your stomach real well.

take egads of vitamin C ascorbic acid for the next couple weeks two. 5 grams a day would be in order. Drink plenty of water. Garlic helps minimze mercury toxicity.

you may want to take charcoal capsules for at least two more weeks just to be sure to absorb any mercury that got past the suction tube ,it helped me alot on my last six that were removed

the first removal, i got ill a fewdays after. but the second time and third,i got ill straight after. if i knew what i know now, i would have gone to a different dentist, with all the right precauctions and would have took the right supplements after,eg, DMSA.

I had my 4 amalgams out over a period of 2 weeks, similar experience to yours. I was spitting out streams of silver bits at the dentist's, it was horrific.

I did find that my symptoms increased noticeably and I was really feeling rough. I've had depression, and the depression and everything associated with it got worse. At first I tried a heavy metal detox compound with cilantro and chlorella, but it didn't help much. I ony started seeing improvements when I began using DMSA. I have gone 5 rounds with it now and I would say that the worsening of my symptoms has almost disappeared. I now need to think about how long to keep chelating, see how much difference it makes to the 3-year depression.

Some really good advice here. Take loads of vitamin C, I would suggest at least 10 grams a day. Chelate with anything that works for you until you can get something a bit stronger like DMSA.

And avoid the comfort eating <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I know, I have truly been there 1000 times over myself. It will only make it worse though. When you really get frightened or anxious, can you try talking to someone, writing on this forum, or just distracting yourself with a walk or a hobby?

Take care and best wishes for your recovery,
Linda.

"And avoid the comfort eating "

Great advice, but not so easy to do. I gave up sugar long ago. I still love eating pasta. I convinced myself that it is okay to eat pasta if I drown it in hege amounts of garlic powder. I have now managed to stay away from pasta for a few days, but it is very difficult for me. My body doesn't like a low carb diet.

"Wurtman, director of the Program in Women's Health at the MIT Clinical Research Center, and colleagues have found that when you stop eating carbohydrates, your brain stops regulating serotonin, a chemical that elevates mood and suppresses appetite. And only carbohydrate consumption naturally stimulates production of serotonin.

"When serotonin is made and becomes active in your brain, its effect on your appetite is to make you feel full before your stomach is stuffed and stretched," said Wurtman. "Serotonin is crucial not only to control your appetite and stop you from overeating; it's essential to keep your moods regulated."

The key here is "carbohydrates."

It is true that carbs are vital for us to function. However, what many people don't realise is that fruit and veg are carbs. Most people do not need other kinds of carbs to function. Some people have a body type that does seem to do better with them, but that isn't the case for most of us.

The body doesn't really treat white flour any differently from sugar, because they are both simple carbs that are very quickly digested, give a blood sugar rush and crash, and leave you craving more. If you are getting bread/pasta cravings then there could be a number of factors: other foods you are eating that trigger cravings (e.g. lots of sweet fruit), candida, low cortisol, general depression.

I have been craving sugar quite a lot these past few months despite my diet being clean, but I think it's a feature of my depression. I am hoping that when the depression goes away, that need to get comfort from sugar will go too. I know what it's like to crave this stuff, I've battled with it all my life. Sounds like you're definitely on the right track though <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Hang in there. Sugar interferes with chelation, which has been the biggest factor for me in keeping away from it since my amalgams came out.

Linda.

Hello Linda. Nice photo! St. John's Wort helps greatly with taming food cravings. There was a time when I was having very great chocolate cravings and St. John's Wort was a great help.

Thanks for the well-meant advice but I have a nasty history with SSRIs, and SJW is a weak SSRI. I actually did try it before I went on the prescription meds and it made me feel weird and gave me stomach aches. However, if it worked for you, then that's great. Yes chocolate is the food I've always struggled with most. I wouldn't mind finding a way of having raw cocoa without the added sugar, milk, etc. It's actually supposed to be good for you that way.

Linda.

That looks lovely Dawn, but all the ingredients lists for these things seem to contain soya flour. Nasty stuff. Do you know of any without soya that I might have missed? It would be lovely to eat something like this, I knew they had them in America but as usual there seems to be a lot less choice and variety here.

I think its good you are going to start clay asap. Clay is very good for getting rid of mercury. Good luck.
