activated charcoal is supposed to help mop up any released mercury.
I would avoid the Vitamin C because it could impair the ability of the freezing agent. Also when I had my amalgams removed the freezing agent my dentist used was called septocane. Apparently it has less carcinogens compared to lidocane.
Are you using a mercury-free dentist?
