I've read various opinions on the internet about whether or not expired vitamins and other supplements (such as valerian root) are okay to consume past the expiration date. Some people say it's no problem, others say it's best to avoid. I've even read documents which say that expiration dates are only put there because they have to put them there and that even years later it's quite okay to take.
Anyone care to share their opinions on the matter? Thanks.

Hi Pwcca :-)
that's a good question. Over at Curezone, at Humaworm's forum,-- he states his dewormer and tea are good for 2 years if kept in a cool dry place.
I'd say the same is true of most dry herbs.
Herbs in tincture form using food grade alcohol-- or vodka can last indefinitely--- according to MH of the Barefoot Herbalist forum at Curezone.
I would think that things like Coral Calcium or any of the mineral supplements can be kept indefinitely also.
Anything else, i'd keep in a cool dry place at least.
