Btw jynx from what I have gathered test are meaningless, different people react different to toxicity and mercury poisoning won't show up always in the tests
At least your parents are supportive, but don't bet "all-in" on amalgams, it could be something else too. The symptoms for mercury poisoning are similar to hundreds of other conditions.
Save money and get them removed yourself, you will never know for sure if they are affecting you until they are gone and you chelated. Don't give up, at least until you find out.
