I don't think I suffer form either of these to any large degree but I wanted to share something I heard with you. I read somewhere that when your body is loaded with mercury it allows yeast to get in and proliferate to some degree because yeast has the effect of holding onto mercury. I guess the effect is that the yeast gets some of the mercury and keeps it out of "you". My naturopath confirmed that yeast does indeed "grab" mercury if it comes in contact with it.

I was on the candida diet for over a year and hit a wall with my fillings in. I had all 7 of them removed and continued with the diet for another 6 months before I found my doctor and started on a specific protocol. It took 8 months after that to kill 3 different parasites, C-diff, or 2 different kinds of yeast. I don't think you will ever killl the candida 100% with the amalgams in. And if you were able to do it, you may have to many mercury symptoms. That is my opinion.

Not beaten it, reduced it and improved some symptoms and made life more bearable. That was worth it to me. You do not have to take aggressive measures to kill it off in one blast (that can release a load of toxins at once and even any contained metals), but you can reduce it by diet alone and take a load off your gut/liver and immune system which allows easier detoxing, healing and relief of some symptoms whilst you take other measures to fix the underlying condition (be that mercury, or infection of some kind, or whatever else).
Candida is just an opportunistic, it takes advantage of a bad situation and makes life much more miserable. it also methylates mercury and makes it more toxic apparently, plus spills out its own toxins 24/7.
You may not cure candida whilst you have mercury, but you can help your body get a better grip on it by aiding it with diet and helpful supplements and even nature's antifungals in our own diet like onions/garlic, coconut oil etc.
The candida diet is simply a healthy diet for anybody, because it excludes all the toxic junkfoods like sugar, flour etc. But if you have a bad case of it? You will also need to exclude natural sugar foods like fruit, milk, honey and even high carbs like potatoes and corn and grains until you improve and are able to include them again on a limited basis. But you can eat plenty of meat, eggs, low carb vegetables and healthy fats and if you can tolerate acidophilus yoghurt? That might be ok and raw nuts too (brazil and almonds are the safest) but I'd go easy.
It is mainly about building the immune system and this diet can help do that. Being toxic with mercury and continuing to consume high sugar or high carb foods can be a recipe for disaster with those of us who are worse than others!

I eat a lot of garlic, stay away from heavy sugary stuff (a little bit ok). Parsley is good for that too, raw in salads. Lots of fresh herbs are effective against parasites. Packaged herbal parasite cleanses help whole bunches if you can tolerate the diet restrictions. Xylitol is a great sugar substitute and anti-bacterial.

Try grapefruit seed extract. Start out with 3 drops in 8 ounces of water 3 times a day. Stir it well. Gradually incease it to 6 drops in 8 ounces of water 6 times a day.
