I just have to say I get depressed reading this as so many stories make me more fearful and just makes me worse knowing others arent getting better even though they have tried everything possible (DIET, psychiatrists, REMOVAL,CHELATING etc) why do people say they sufferred this problem for 30 years or so. this is so depressing.

Have you read the thread here about the success stories?

People who come to forums like this, and then get well, don't tend to stick around usually. It's worth keeping that in mind.

Hi, dont let the few on here lead you to believe that this is "it". So many come and go on this forum and get well. It's happening often. Often the ones who are suffering the most stand out and can make you feel that it's everybody.

Please believe me it isn't. Believe it or not, some of the ones going through the most are still quite new from their amalgam removal and going through the slow detox. Only months past removal.

So it is not the 30 year thing you speak of. I am someone who has been sick for 20 years yes, but some of those years were much improved, some awful. My problems extend further than mercury and for me it is always a case of trying to find the answers.

I was getting well from mercury after detoxing, though it was not easy. My problem came after I became infected by a vicious bacteria.

So please try not to let the negative stories become your focus. Please look at the ones who are improving and passing on their progress. Also again, people have left here because they got well. Gone.

They dont usually come back! Or if they do it is rare. The world is a big place, the net is full of sick people who gather in areas like this. You will get downhearted when you are around a lot of sick people at onetime. This is why in hospitals whena person is around a lot of sick, you can really become horribly depressed....you tend to forget about the ones who got well and left!

I mentioned 30 years of toxicity in a post, but would like to point out that only the last 5 to 10 years were things really getting bad. Too bad that dentists could not tell me to get those things out earlier, or I never would have gotten that sick or maybe ever even known it was mercury. Even though symptoms could be traced back 30 years, I felt great and very healthy then...

Don't be discouraged, you can really improve your health by getting the amalgams out, chelating, and improving diet. And read this letter to the FDA - this lady got better, but what is strange is her story and symptoms match mine like a glove (except I am a man - fraction of one that I used to be now while I am fighting this mercury thing. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />)

http://www.fda.gov/ohrms/dockets/dockets/06n0352/06n-0352-emc0217-03.pdf

My problem is these manufacturers who keep using questionable ingredients in their products! Wow, what madness that is!
We need better testing and tracking of these things. This forum is a great resource, maybe it could be used to track different products and people's results with them.

Hello Bex - do you think your health stopped improving about a year after composites were placed? Do you have dryness of eyes, fatigue, or aching teeth?

Thanks,

Hi Kaw, I'm not sure exactly what happened. I got my last amalgams replaced in about mid 1997. Had a intial worsening, followed by improvement (almost remission of symptoms). Then about a year after all the symptoms returned and I went through hell detoxing the stored mercury that was obviously deciding to erupt.

So that forced me into an ongoing cycle of symptoms, some that were utterly unbelieveable. Then I began to improve after about 2 years of detoxing.

But I made a terrible mistake of watering down my mascara to make it more moist. Instead of buying a new one, I'd water it down when it got dry. This is a bad move because it can cause a bacteria to develop.

But I had gotten away with it in the past...not so this time. I used it and developed a severe eye infection. This infection was so bad that I would hold a damp cloth to my eyes for much of the day and often in tears.

The infection then spread from the eyes into the brain (I went off balance, slurred my words and had trouble reading and writing for a time). I had chill like sensations moving through my head area and then from there it spread into the rest of my body causing a permanent chronic condition. I have now got exercise intolerance and a weakened immunity and I believe a damaged blood brain barrier. I now cannot handle any exposure to toxins and immediately absorb them and cannot eliminate them properly. They cause almost immediate brain symptoms. This is something I never had previous to this infection.

From there anything began to affect me and I got even worse after some further dental work. Two older composites redone in newer stuff (which I believe maybe toxic to me), plus wisdom teeth removal. From there, I am pretty much chronically ill.

I've told this a few times on here, so I'm sure it gets annoying to hear it again, but just wanted to pass that on so you'd know my situation. I am also now so tired and unmotivated, I really dont go out or do anything.

I stupidly smoked a load of cigarettes a few months ago (at someone's house) and that has made me very ill, so lately I am just worse. I dont normally smoke, but would have the odd cigarette. But I really did it this time and once again the toxins go in, dont come out. If they do come out, it is so slow I dont notice and months can go by wtih barely any improvement.

Very odd, but that is how I live now. I also battle ongoing yeast problems because of all this. So one thing tends to offset another.

But yes I do have dry eyes these days and fatigue...dont really have aching teeth though.... possibly the composites "may" be contributing, but I think anything now will make me ill because I have no real resistance or health.

Bex: Have you ever beaten the yeast thing? Even for a month or two, and how did you feel? Could that be the reason for this?

My tounge got that white coating a long time ago, sometimes it starts clearing. I got some products from Herb Allure to try, but have not really used yet. I like to err on the side of caution. I am using ALA and DMSA and wondering if that will clear it someday? Has anything worked for you?

I am pretty sure those cigarettes would be out of you in a week or two - no?

Hi Kaw, no the cigarette toxins did not come out of me after a week or so. In normal circumstances it would, even in a day or so. But not with how my condition is these days.

Yeah, I have definitely had improvements from addressing candida. For me it's been a lifesaver many times. I had to go off sugar, yeast, fruit, milk, cheese, grains, caffeine, honey etc, but it was worth it. Though Iwent through die off intially and that took 3 weeks to stop and then I got improvement.

I just live on basically eggs, meat, liver, chicken, vegetables (no potatoes corn or peans/beans though because they are too high in carbs). I eat a few raw nuts and some acidophilus yoghurt. And plenty of good fats. That's pretty much it.

At the moment I am not getting much improvement, yet I have in the past. Not sure why, but definitely the cigarette smoking didn't help.

Yeast overgrowth occurs anytime your immunity is down. It takes advantage of a bad situation and make it worse. DMSA and ALA will clear mercury and in doing that, hopefully eventually the yeast problem will go also.

Problem is DMSA and ALA can also flare up yeast at the time you take them. Either by directing doing it, or indirectly due to the movement of metals. This is why it is pretty crucial to control yeast with a good diet. That way you wont be so overwhelmed by it!

It also makes mercury more toxic, so it's even more essential to reduce it. Not only does yeast inhibit absorption of nutrients, it overloads the gut and liver with toxins, lowers immunity even more and also causes mental symptoms too. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's mercury or candida, because many symptoms are similar. One can make the other worse. Best to try and address both if you feel this is what maybe causing your problems or contributing at least.

Coated tongue can be an indicator of yeast, but also can happen during yeast die off and release of toxins. So coating of the tongue is not always a bad sign. Some of the worst coatings on my tongue have been during yeast die off and detox!

Thanks Bex -

I am with you on the diet mostly, though I cheat and do wrong things here and there. But I agree with you 100%, hope I can stick to it, and someday beat this.

What are your most troubling symptoms? Mine has been like a slight imbalance/dizzyness, and a feeling of weakness that I think is adrenal related, along with hypothyroid symptoms. Is this what you experience?

Have you found anything helpful for adrenals? I was really doing well, and then we had a heat wave, and I got worse. Since heat came down, I am feeling better. Are you heat intolerant too?

By the way, for anyone who thinks they can't get better. Do not give up, and try to make the best of each moment because I was really bad a long time, and in a state of panic and anxiety at the peak of this. Chelation and diet has brought me to being able to at least feel better, and function way better.

Hi Kaw. y/w. My symptoms at the moment are really getting to me. Feeling drugged, stupor like, itching around the face, exhaustion, some nausea, slight cramping in the gut, feeling dead/depressed etc. So I dont know what's going on. I'm on the diet, but I have cheated on and off also, which confuses everything. So I dont know if it's die off or from overgrowth.

My own fault, but I find it very hard at the moment due to my cravings. Cravings alone are usually a sign of yeast and when you cheat it gets what it wants. If I cheat very badly it's incredible what happens. I get almost drunk! The alcohols from the yeast cause this. I actually get hyped up, cannot sit down, heart racing, and I even have trouble with controlling my bladder (yes I know too much information). But it is exactly like consuming too much alcohol. That's what happens.

Then when I try and go on the diet, I get the awful drugged feelings again. So I keep hoping that it will improve if I stick it out. Problem is, usually I dont these days.

You are more depressed because not looking at the big picture, and you are not dep breathing, this is huge to help healing adn to relax. Did you get this cd yet...???

http://store.soundstrue.com/aw00445d.html

And then focus on your liver for 6 months - this remarkable organ when it is clean will give you a great boost of strength and well being, and then deal with the metals and then the yeast.

Hi anon, I appreciate your efforts to help me here (if you are addressing me), but you may not have looked at the big picture yourself, nor do you know the big picture. If you had read my posts properly you'd have realised that I had already been recovering from yeast and mercury until I was harmed badly by a vicious bacterial infection.

This is not something you can just cure by deep breathing and cleaning up the liver. Ive tried the deep breathing thing in the past and was given all sorts of relaxation tapes, the lot. An entire waste of my time! It is not relaxation that I require.

The infection is through my entire system. My depression as you called it being related to not looking at the big picture is nonsense. My depression has always been related to the toxicity and illness. It lifts whenever I'm in a better state of health. Has absolutely NOTHING to do with what you are suggesting here.

I am already possibly going to buy some chlorella and spirulina, because I hear that they are excellent and part of that is also aiding the liver, but many other functions also and as an overall food supplement. i am only concerned about the metal movement aspect of chlorella which can make people feel worse, but I do not know if metals are my main issue anymore. I am looking to take something that will be nutrionally helpful to my entire body, as well as my diet.

For me that is going to cost enough as it is.

.nobody knows the big picture unless they are all seeing and all knowing.

I have been eating spirulina off and on for 15 years.

Love it.

The chlorella... I noticed that I do better on low doses of it even while eating lots of cilantro. Too much chlorella seems to aid foggy head syndrome for me... if I use just a half teaspoon in the morn, a half teaspoon in the evening... whatever else chelation whenever... then I don't have the foggy head thing. I really hate the foggy head. Garlic on the other hand, I seem to do well with lots of it... raw in pesto, in salads, it defintely helps me feel better whatever the complaint.

Hi sosick, will do. You mght be interested to check this link out by the way. It's a free online book on chlorella and spirulina. I was quite astounded by the information. Interestingly enough, I am following most of the diet the guy on there advocates. Though I have not yet used his recommendation of chlorella and spirulina, which he believes are all the supplements necessary for anybody. What's contained in them is amazing. However, he does not really eat meat much, whereas I do. He says he gets his protein now from these supplements. Though he not against meats and in fact he is an advocate of the Atkins diet.

Yeah, that's been online for years. read it aeons ago.

I think he is telling the truth about it but personally I need a more varied diet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

A tablespoon of spirulina a day makes me feel super. I don't have any other supplement that compares to it. Lots of micronutrients or something/ last i bought it I got a big thing from a bulk food supply place... but I worry about the quality though from that source even though it still made me feel great. They were a hassle to deal with, took forever to get here... I am almost out and rarely use it these days I would like some more in that quanity at that price. I think I paid about $25-30/pound for it a couple years ago, just now running out.

You know what, after all this time and lots of chelating I feel pretty good. I really only have one symptom left, which is these darn swollen glands on the right side of my neck. I really don;t think it's from the mercury but from the plastics in the filling that the dentist used in that tooth... it's the one that;'s prepped for a crown but I never did the final crown because of so many problems with the dentists along the way. I really hate to lose another tooth because of stupid dentistry but I really want the glands back to pre-dental misadventure state... which was normal. Those glands have been swollen since the day he did that work, or whatever you want to call it,, since the day he did the damage is more appropriate actually.

The country dentist that extracted the molar by cutting it in half and lifting it out instead of pulling it... that feels great after several weeks... never a twinge of pain there.

Well I think a more varied diet is better personally because though I think eggs, meat and fats and veges are healthy, some grains and fruits and things would be nice too, but for me having these yeast issues I dont have the luxury of that.

Sounds like you have an excellent deal with the spirulina you have! wow. Well if it makes you feel good? I'd say it must be fine. I wish we had a deal like that here. I think all we have is little supplement bottles. Mind you, I'd like to test myself out first with it anyway before buying in bulk, that goes for chlorella as well (moreso). I took spirulina once before in my life and did excellent on it. Weight, the whole deal was ideal. I felt a million bucks, but again I do not know if it was that or just a lucky break. But my symptoms returned when the mercury began to ooze back out of me and eventually I went off spirulina because I didn't know what was happening at that time and what to blame it on.

But i am willing to try it again.

The spirulina doesn't chelate far as I know...it's just a food in that sense. may have some cleansing properties like Russ's Algin though, it is algae and all algae cleanses (it's it's purpose in life, to filter junk out of water).

True, it's chlorella that has the mobilising effect. Though some seem to think spirulina can to some extent...i doubt that. I never got any kind of detox effect from it.

The reason I stopped it was because I was feeling so bad (when the mercury began dumping), that I didn't want to take any chances with the supplements I was using at that time. I just didn't know what to attribute my symptoms to, so I was quite paranoid. I also felt that the spirulina may have been contaminated itself. So, I dropped everything.

Of course the symptoms did not go, but I never really took up the spirulina again. Instead I was chelating and going through hellish detox.

Bex, can I just ask how much vitamin C you take? Are you taking vitamin E as well? Have you considered colloidal silver? Maybe if you explored ways of boosting your immune system, you might be able to get rid of whatever residual bacteria may be in your system, and maybe that would have knock-on effects on other problems. I know you've tried a lot of things, and obviously I'm not an expert. Just a thought.

Hi Linda, I take about 2000 mg of vitamin C twice a day, or sometimes more. I take vitamin E as well. Plus milk thistle, selenium, fish oil, etc.

I dont know about colloidal silver, I do recall trying that and not having any results. I could try it again, but am focussed on trying out chlorella and spirulina for now and maybe that will help boost things. Perhaps I do need something though for bacteria....I may well need that as well. The expense just kills me though.

I'm almost thinking of ditching most of my individual supplements and using the spirulina and chlorella and just the fish oil maybe. The fish oil already contains a bit of vitamin E and also the spirulina apparently contains vitamin E naturally.

I will have to see how finance goes whether I decide to bring colloidal silver onboard or not. It all gets pretty overwhelming at times. Not knowing what is the best thing to take and when you dont have much money, you are kind of limited (as you know yourself).

Thanx again for your help and thoughtfulness.

Good luck with those things Bex <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I think it's certainly worth a try.

If you want to experiment sometime, you could try taking vitamin C to bowel tolerance for a few days and see what happens. Maybe nothing, who knows. Or maybe your doc would be willing to give you some injections, which would be even better. I guess I am sentimental about this wonderful vitamin because it was one of the first ones I learned about, and I read one of Linus Pauling's books. His enthusiasm is infectious. One of his theories is interesting too. He believed that humans used to have the ability to synthesise their own C, like most other animals do. At some point in our evolution it was so plentiful in the diet that this ability was lost. Now that most people do not get the nutrients they need from diet alone, many people have a subclinical C deficiency. The idea here is that the fewer vitamins an animal has to synthesise, the more evolutionarily advantageous it is. Pauling did some experiments with microbes and found that when he genetically extracted their ability to synthesise a nutrient, but gave it to them in their food, they reproduced at a faster rate than a control group. Interesting, huh? He thought that the optimum C intake for most people is around 10,000mg a day, though his recommendation was for 3,000-10,000 -- when a person is well. A person can tolerate upwards of 100,000mg when they are ill, depending on the illness.

Anyway, if you cut supplements out, keep the C <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Best wishes,
Linda.

Hi Linda, thanks. Yeah I may hang onto the vitamin C, but if these other nutrients have plenty of it already I may not need it. For me it's to cut down costs as well. I have to be choosy.

I've already ordered some of the green food supplement. One that contains barley grass, spirulina, chlorella and other things. It should give me a pretty good array of nutrients. I'll see how this one goes and if it doesn't suit, I'll try another brand or something.

I have tried the vitamin c to bowel tolerance, but it didn't seem to help me much. I had to go through a ton of vitamin C to do it as well. I sound like a tight wad, but I just cannot afford it. Also at the moment I'm having loose bowels as it is <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> So I dont know if it'll be worth me pushing that even further.

No, it sounds like you are being sensible Bex. I wish you all the best with what you choose to do. I know what it's like having to pay for all these things. Sometimes I think that if we just had a bit more money, the depression would ease a little because I find I'm constantly stressed about the cost of everything I buy.It wasn't a worry during the 5 years my husband and I were both working full time, good lord it seems like a distant dream now.

I am having quite a bad day, in tears a lot, just want to curl up and hide somewhere. I wish I knew whether I was doing the right things or just messing myself up more.

some great idea's posted in here.

I have been taking Spirulina powwer in a veg or fruit smoothie daily and I have to say I feel more energised. It is great stuff.

Yeah bex ask about vit C injections as they are very good and ave known to stop cancer in patients and can really clean you out.

Are you taking any good bacteria supplements? they are much more effecient than just diet such as yoghurt.

ANd yes I would stop taking the supplements individually as they are expensive and I know I feel worse on selenium or Milk thistle. See how it goes.

Colloidal Silver is an excellent source or getting rid of bad bacteria. They should be using this instead of anti-biotics as they cause yeast infections.

HI, I ordered some chlorella and spirulina, so going to see how that goes. I cannot afford the IV vitamin C <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Yeah Joe, I think you're right. Dietry yoghurt does not quite get the potency and also probiotics in supplements release directly into the gut where it's needed. I may need to get some again.

But chlorella and spirulina are supposed to have some properties that apparently build good bacteria in the gut, so that's a bonus as well.

I just have to try and keep things to where i can handle the cost. Basic, but effective. I think I may opt ouf of single manmade supplements and rather go for the natural more....however I still do not know if it will work.

I think fish oil is a good one to continue taking though and selenium. I know what you mean Joe about milk thistle and selenium. I have had reactions also and I think that is a sign of mercury. I seem ok lately but that's possibly because they are a bit past their best <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Linda, I am really sorry to hear how you are at the moment. IT seems it's a never ending cycle (roller coaster). I hope you are feeling better today! I think you are doing everything you can do for yourself. Diet, chelation, supplements etc. I am hoping things will begin looking up soon for you. It is a slow process and it is never usually a smooth upward climb in improvements. It is up and down.

Im sorry your not feeling well VeggieJuicer. Its awful but the worry about spending so much money can also Dount ever doubt yourself. Just know what your doing is for your own health and doing what you beleive is right.

Yes good work on ordering spirulina and chlorella. Hope you feel better bex. Yes make sure you always replace the good bacteria...it is frustrating if we had money we would be able to afford doing everything possible. Getting all the supps we need in order to make ourselves fel happy and well enough (Proper removal of amaglams for me).
