I'm really, really upset right now. I found out about 9 years ago I had developed an allergy to nickel. This was because I wore cheap body jewellry (sorry about the spelling) made with nickel.

Today I just found out by reading this forum that nickel is used in my flipping tooth fillings. I have 9 fillings and five of them big ones done in childhood. The cavities were absolutely tiny but they chipped off a lot of tooth to put in a lot of filling.

I have fibromyalgia and I'm too sick to work, in pain all the time and have a lot of symptoms described on this site (and then some). And even though I've been fighting my illness I'm only getting slowly worse. I'm 23 year old and crippled by some unknown problem that docs reckoned was all in my head until last year when they said it was fibromyalgia.

But I KNOW I'm allergic to nickel. So why is my mouth stuffed full of it??

Until I watched a presentation about how mercury is released into the body from teeth an hour ago I didn't understand why brushing my teeth made me vomit within half an hour of cleaning them. Now I think I get why that happens. Not to mention that when I had two teeth extracted a couple of years ago that it took me over six months to partially heal when the normal healing time was three days.

But because I'm too sick to work I can't figure out how I'm supposed to pay to have them all removed. I'm in Britain and unsure that I can get my doctor to test me FAIRLY for toxicity. British results are biased and you don't get the treatment if they can get away with not paying for it.

Anyway I'm blabbering because i'm so upset but I need to know how I'm supposed to get tested for metal allergies.

It would be great if I have finally found the reason for my constant sickness and pain. Can anyone throw me in the direction of safety and info about removing my fillings please? I'm really scared about having my fillings removed the wrong way because I am so weak. I can barely eat any more and it's been getting worse and worse so I don't want to have a bad dentist get it all wrong without me knowing what's happening.

Thanks for being here. B
