For those of you who've read Andy's book, I seem to be a prime example of all his descriptions, including what can happen or won't happen if you only take out your feelings and then do not chelate properly.
I began having amalgams placed at a very young age. By the time I was 20, every tooth in my mouth was filled with amalgam, including two root canals, which we know from Dr. Huggins are even more toxic. When I turned 26, I needed 2 amalgams drilled out and replaced (with more amalgams). I remember this dentist drilling out these three fillings (no protection) not even a rubber dam. Then I remember huge chunks of the amalgam material all over my mouth, which I swallowed. Did I know at that time that he was putting mercury in my mouth? No!!
One year later, I began developing chronic infections, e.g. urinary tract and repeated bronchitis. I couldn't understand why I kept getting sick because I had a healthy lifestyle. Later that year, I began having anxiety attacks which later lead to severe panick attacks. I struggled with coping with this for 2 years, therapy and all, but I know now it was due to mercury. Finally at age 35, I went from being an avid dancer, high functioning, extremely enthusiastic, extremely motivated and ambitious woman, straight into total collapse. I went from doctor to doctor either being told "there's nothing wrong with you", take some prozac to being told I had MS. Well, neither was correct. I had over 30 symptoms that I now struggled to live with and got by only from taking tons and tons of nutritional supplements which kept me semi-functional. The old days were gone though. No more dancing, no more working. If I could get through the bare necessities and crucial tasks of the day, I was satisfied.
I was tired to no answers and knew that I was very seriously ill so I finally went to a naturopathic doctor. He did his thing and told me I had mercury poisoning from my fillings. I wanted confirmation that this was in fact true, so I went for a DMPS challenge, which turned out to be a big mistake, because I had one of those horrific reactions which Andy Cutler clearly describes. One hour after the injection, I had these impulses to kill myself from out of the blue for no reason whatsoever. Thank God my boyfriend was there and he didn't let me out of his sight for two days until this passed. Then I got the results of the DMPS challenge. My score was 210. Yes 210. My doctor called frantic because my levels were so high. He said "Get your amalgams removed".
I got doctor Huggins' book and went through the whole revision process with a dentist on Huggin's list. I got better and felt better, but I did not do anything about chelation. Finally at 43, bipolar disorder decided to come on board as well.
Now at 45, I am extremely unwell both mentally and physically. Basically, it's just like Andy describes in his book. I am having a lot of trouble even doing basic tasks. There's just no motivation or ambition whatsoever. I am no longer interested in anyone or anything besides my illness and what to do about it. I've lost interest in my life and surroundings. My relationships with people are no longer the same and I am no longer the same. My brain feels like it's not functioning properly. I cannot concentrate or focus and I am very very depressed as well as extremely irritable. I am constantly exhausted and even taking a shower is a big effort. I used to be a gourmet cook and now it's hard to make a sandwich. I never have any desire to leave the house and no longer feel capable of driving. My brain does not seem to control my body very well. I did a few chelation campaigns with ALA over last month, but I got worse. I think that because I just used ALA, I may have moved mercury back and forth into my brain. So now I've ordered DMSA and I am going to chelate with 100 mgs. DMSA and 100 mgs. ALA at the same time, every 3-4 hours including during the night, for about 5 days on and one week off. I am going to probably have to do this for at least two years, as I know that I am very severely poisoned. 10 years of my life now (good years) have been lost to this poison. I cannot believe that dentists could do this to us!! Rather than continue to feel like a victim, god willing, I will get well and then when I'm back to myself, I am going to write a book to help other people. This is what I hope to do.
BOTTOM LINE: Don't play around with chelation quackery. Mercury poisoning is serious. You would probably be better off doing nothing after removing your fillings, than using "witch doctor" protocols. I'm glad I never did anything like MSM or chlorella or any of this other useless and dangerous crap!
Now I hope I have a chance to chelate properly and get the high levels of mercury out of my body. It is obvious in my case, that if you are severely poisoned, just taking out the fillings will not cure you. After all, I've gotten much worse since 1999 when I got my fillings out. You must get the mercury out, but do it safely. ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED!!

Thank you kindly for your response. Perhaps I should start with lower doses and gradually go up.

I know I just talked about magnesium in the other post, but it is SO very important in the recovery process. I think that Cutler mentioned taking 100mg 4 times a day and work up to 200mg per time. I personally take 340mg at night and again in the morning (when your levels are the lowest) and then more anytime I feel that I need it (ie. exposure to toxic fumes, headache and muscle tension starts) It is necessary for the detox phase of the liver, no to mention all the other things in the body. Because you have been in a 'chronic' detox state most of your life, you are probably very deficient. I recommend reading "The Miracle of Magnesium" by Carolyn Dean. Also the site www.mag-i-cal.com for supplements. I use this because it is cellular ready and you can take what you need without the loose stools problem that you will probably encounter because of the poor digestion from the hg and because of some forms such as citrate that draw water into the colon. It will help your mental state also while you are dealing with the health problems. Let me know how it goes.

That is terrible, Sandra. I'm so sorry for what you are going through. It's making me so angry that dentists are doing this.
How you are describe yourself sounds so much like my mother. I don't have anywhere near as much mercury in my mouth as you have - about 7 of my teeth perhaps, all surface fillings and one root filling (which I had done without anaesthetic as I was phobic of needles) - but she has so much mercury and a lot of root fillings.
It really hurts to talk about my mother because she is so very ill. It hurts to see her the way she is, it's just awful. She is like only half a person. She sits in dark rooms all day, hardly ever goes out and then only with sunglasses. She is very thin, takes no interest in her appearance, never takes a bath, just washes herself. When she watches tv she closes her eyes most of the time. She can't read anymore, can't look at photos or at people when they talk to her. She has no interest in much at all, and my parents marriage has collapsed. She has OCD and goes around touching things all day.
I think she has poisining from her teeth, but she won't listen to me and doesn't want me to talk about it. This is so hard. I'm going to keep trying in gentle ways to get her to consider it, but I just don't think she will because she is just too sick.
If it's the mercury that has caused all this, it's just too awful for me to even think about. It's bad enough to have ruined my childhood, but to have destroyed my mother and my family, it's just awful.
What is the inhection that you had? Is it necessary? I don't think it would help me because I don't need convincing that the mercury and bisphenol in my mouth is causing me problems.
Please tell us how you get on, Sandra. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have lost so much energy and ambition aswell, but I think I can retrieve if I get better now.
Definitely write that book and tell the world about the poison in our teeth.
