iI have been suffering for weeks at night with the severest leg cramps. They last all night long. The pain is unbearable. Last night I had to come downstairs cos I was literaly crying like a baby. Saw my doctore and hes given me a prescription for Quinine. I was a bit worried about this, so looked it up on the internet and it said must not be used for leg cramps, was very dangerous to kineys and FDA are trying to get it banned. Does anyone have professional knowledge about this. Obviously I wont be trying it out. In fact I thought about asking the doctor to try. it first LOL Thanks Tracy x

No professional advice but I would recommend seeing a naturopath. My sisters used to have bad leg cramps due to milk allergies, just a thought. I hope your legs get better. Good luck.

I hope you can find out what is causing the pain Tracy. I would not take quinine. Leg cramps can be a sign of low magnesium, are you still taking some?

I'm not a doctor <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />, but leg cramps are a definant sign of magnesium deficiency. Make sure that you aren't taking calcium and if you eat a lot of dairy foods you will need even more magnesium to balance you mg/cal.

hi tracy: my wife used to be a medic in the military, I found some info on leg cramps in her medical handbooks , there could be three main causes for them (1) arteriosclerosis (impaired circulation in the legs) (2) imbalance of the bodies electrolytes (3) and more rarely early stages of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or als. tracy I hope it is number two that one is very easy to correct.

I would definitely try magnesium, Russ recently wrote how mercury is such an antagonist of magnesium.
Hope you get some relief and feel better soon,
Best love, Sandi xoxo

I agree with the rest... Magnesium is very important for mercury toxic persons, lots of it. It wouldn't be unreasonable to take three of these ( Magnesium Complex) twice per day for this type of issue. Hope this helps.

Message us a bit old but responding anyways ...
Most likely it is a deficency in a mineral - magnesium or calcium or patassium or sodium. Usuaully could take a bit to get the minerals replaced
hows the cramps doing btw?
