It seems we do have some symptoms, but with the internet we all have all the information at our tips, maybe too much information.
We over analyze our lives too much trying to improve them.
Lets face it removing amalgams may help you, but there are too many variables that can be causing your problems that id say a successful amalgam removal and detoxification process is highly unlikely.
Sure there are people that have improved but it is a minority
I think it is our type of "religion", giving us false hope that maybe in the future we could improve, but the odds are high that all the money we spend on procedures, all the money we spend on treatments, all the money we spend on supplements and vitamins is not gonna do much to improve us.
THat is nothing compared to the ammount of time we have also wasted researching holy grails and anything that could be causing our symptoms

But that is my take on it, I will let it be and try to enjoy the most of life with what I have, Im not placing bets on false hopes anymore

No, I do not believe most ill people are hypocondriacs, that condition is actually pretty rare and I'd hazard a guess and say most will take the insinuation as an insult on here. Either I be a vegetable and do nothing and feel ill, or I be a vegetable, feel ill and try and find answers, even if it's hopeless searching or not. Regardless of whether I am on the right track or not, I did not ask to be in this situation and I very much doubt anybody here did. the reason I'm on here or any other forum is to try and find a way out.

If I dont do that, can you suggest what I can do? Get on with what life? This is what brought me online in the first place, not actually being able to "get on with a life".

If I didnt' feel ill all the time, I'd be up and about. In fact, if I ever get a day where i feel even remotely normal, I am not on here at all. The first thing I do is want to go and see people. It hardly seems my fault that this doesn't last and I'm back as I was.

Overanalysing didn't get me to this place, being forced into a position to figure out why I felt ill all the time did. Whether I am analysing or not, I remain the same. You'd be surprised at what people can do when they feel even remotely "ok".

I hope you can enjoy the rest of your life, most of us can't and live from day to day in hopes something will turn up or change. Not doing anything is not an option. Even if we are coming up with nothing at the end of it, as soon as we stop searching and trying, that is truly giving up.

Many people do find the answers and move onto a life, some have already gone from this forum. The people here today are not all the same ones that were here months ago (a few are). Many come and go and you never see them again. Some report back they are well now and are working.

Why not hope to be that way and keep trying? Better than doing nothing. You may notice people here talk about many things other than amalgam toxicity. There are many factors that could be happening and at least attempting to find some relief perhaps from someone else's suggestions to make life somewhat more bearable is enough.

Discovering the reason? that's another story. I'm not psychic, so I keep trying.

I agree with Bex, we are definitely not hypochondriacs, we are all here with the same symptoms and they are not in our imaginations.

If you have heavy metal toxicity and get it cleaned up, you will realize that it is a "real" problem and not all in our heads.

best luck

Do you know what a cruel thing it is, to say to people here that the problem may all be "in their heads"? That's exactly what the conventional medical establishment has been telling many of them. It is the doctor's cop-out when he/she cannot find what's wrong. Because it's less ego-bruising than admitting that he/she can't find the answer.

I read about a case where a woman suffering from depression and a host of physical symptoms saw about 4 different consultants at the hospital where she worked (she was the parking lot attendant). They couldn't find what was wrong, and told her it was all in her head. When she eventually went to see a naturopath, testing revealed that she had high levels of carbon monoxide in her body due to her parking lot booth not being ventillated. Once she convinced her employers to do this, her symptoms went away. Your advice to her would have been to stop being silly and go enjoy her life. As others here have said, what life? You can't just wish your problems away, however much we would all like to.

I suspect that for some people here, mercury is only part of the problem, or not even a problem at all. For many, I believe it is part of the picture, sometimes significantly. And most of these people have found their way here, and started to heal themselves, despite allopathic medicine rather than because of it. Our doctors have failed us miserably.

You can't be very ill, to have written the above comments. Have a nice life then, but don't insult the rest of us by telling us we're making everything up.

Linda.

Sorry, I got a little hot and bothered there. Having re-read your post, I think the tone seems to suggest that you are discouraged because maybe you have tried many alternative therapies yourself, and found they have not helped you. Is that the case?

As hard as it must be to hear this when you feel you've tried everything, you must keep trying. It helps to find an expert who knows what they are doing. I belong to a list where people go to come off psychotropic drugs. They do this successfully and go on to live their lives free of the problems they are diagnosed with -- bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, etc. This is done through diet and nutrition, and the advice is given by an expert who has been helping people in this vein for over 20 years. She knows how to tweak someone's supplement regime in order to help them succeed in their healing. This is where people like you and me miss out, when we are left guessing on our own. It can be really hard to get it right.

When I've felt discouraged, I've reminded myself of all the successes on that list. Some of those people have been to psych wards several times and were on cocktails of drugs for years. Their healing is real.

Some of us have to look a little deeper for the healing we need. I believe my depression is at least partially caused by my life circumstances, which are taking a long time for me to be able to change. The best diet and supplements in the world won't lift it until I address those issues. In this sense you're right, people should not come here and immediately jump to the conclusion that getting their amalgams out will solve all their problems -- though this is a possibility, as Russ and Laura and others here can attest.

Just because the roots of the problem are elusive, doesn't mean we should give up looking for them. And a lot can be learned during the search. If you feel stuck, why not ask for some advice here and see what people say. Or find yourself a really good doctor who also has knowledge of nutritional and environmental medicine.

Don't give up

I'm glad I didn't originally think like the person who made the original post in this thread. have recovered and I have my life back.

I believe the key for many of the people who are not getting the results they expected is to exercise, detox at a rate they can live with, and continue journaling and keeping track of their progress.

Any disease that has a cause has a cure. Every disease has a cause.

anon: you sound like the last conventional doctor that I had talked to just before I fired his [censored] , for many including myself this forum is an oasis, after being mislead and kicked when we were down by many who thought that we were crazy ,we found strength within our selves to fight and eventually win this battle that we deal with on a daily basis

It is just incredibly hard to keep trying to fix things, specially if you are on a tight budget.
Im glad most of you will keep trying, but the financial toll of keeping trying to fix whatever we have (which can be related to too many other conditions) is finally gotten to me.
It is just mind boggling to me that we have to pay to undo a procedure we had done that was supposed to help us, specially in first world countries where the law should protect the citizens.
If you look in google most of the time the mercury poisoning from amalgam fillings is called a myth or a flat out lie to get people to waste money. Obviously it would be like making a massive callback, so the people that would lose an immense amount of money will keep popping up shady studies saying amalgams are perfectly safe, much like the global warming debate.
This should be as easy as going back to the dentist and having them pay for the removal and detox process, plus any other expenses that rise out of the two.
Sorry for ranting, good luck getting your symptoms fixed

I too had these thoughts and having been diagnosed with Mercury poisoning was very cynincal and did nothing for a year BIG MISTAKE my suffering became almost unbearable and the mouth, teeth and head and face pain was like nothing on earth. Unfortunately I made the mistake of having them all ,13 removed at the same time. My immune system was definately not up to this. Three things convinced me. My dental nurse, who was a good friend and just 28 was infertile. No doctor locally could find out why, she went to Harley Street, and not only had she been made infertile, she had lymphatic cancer and died 6 months later. There are a few dental nurses on this forum who have all the symptoms of Mercury poisoning. A dentist who is a good friend has had to have both his hips replaced and do you know if you have afilling removed it is placed in a special toxic waste container and shipped to third world country landsite as toxic waste. Also as someone else has pointed out on this forum, there was a piece on the front of a Daily paper, saying that cremation costs for relatives has gone up by £100 because all amalgam fillings have to be removed from the deceased as it has been found that the Mercury from the amalgams is giving off toxic fumes into the atmosphere. My sister once went to the dentist and he remarked that one of her Mercury fillings was leaking and needing dealing with straight away. She said why is this dangerous and he said, well I would never put one in my sons mouth. Where I was diagnosed at a private hospital a 6 month old baby was being chelated as he had got Mercury poisoning from his mum who was a dentist. He had every symptom. A baby would not be able to portray what he didnt know about, I doubt whether his parents would put him through that, and must have been aware of it theirselves and I doubt any doctor would risk chelating a baby unless they were absolutely sure. I'm convinced, what more evidence do we need than thats its so dangerous its been banned in two European countries. Any others would love us to think we're all hypochondriacs. The people on this forum are much too rational and intelligent for that. Goood luck. Tracy PS I was one of the happpiest people on this Earth, lovely house, fantastic partner and a very fulfilling job, working in a school with disruptive and Autistic children, (Now I understand their behaviour so much more) My illness started the day after a visit to the dentist when I had four root canals filled in an infected tooth. I was so ill with the most bizarre symptoms and thought I had Menengitiis, coincidence? I dont think so

Anon, I know it isn't fair. And it isn't fair that it costs to buy good healthy food and supplements to make/keep us well. I resent paying taxes to the NHS here so that people can take their drugs, many of which are not necessary, while the cost of my own personal health comes out of my pocket. I hope this will change one day. We just have to spread the word right now.

Would you like to tell us your story? Maybe we can help.

Best,
Linda.

I believe both sides here are correct. It is certain that I have health problems. I also find myself at times spending an unhealthy amount of time trying to improve my health. The purpose is to improve out lives but if we spend all of our lives planning and fixing and researching what's the point? Do I really want to spend my life behind a computer or thinking about HOW to live instead of getting out there and LIVE? We are all here for a legitimate reason, but like everything else in life too much of a good thing is bad and the search can become a problem in itself. Not that we need another syndrome or label, but Orthorexia is a similar problem dealing with diet. Some people get addicted to the internet. I have definitely tasted both sides of this topic, so I can say yes the search to cure the problem can be a problem in itself and in some cases I can imagine the search being more of a waste of life than the original problem.

I thought exactly the same thing last year and was determined that if I tried hard to put things behind me for a while and get on with life just maybe things would right theirselves, and the big but is last year I had some good hours in the day when this was possible and therefore could live a kind of half life, Unfortunately it dosent work cos now I dont have one second of day or night when I feel good, so how the hell can you do that. Believe me I'm a very strong person I have been through some horendous things and If there was anyway at all of fighting this thing and living any sort of normal life I would be the first to do it. But we dont have a say .No matter how strong you are in mind and what you want in life, this thing definately progresses. My family have seen it in the last few months rob me of every fighting strength I ever possessed and they have seen me overcome some pretty horrific things. When this thing finally takes over you, you cannot put it behind you or fight it in anyway. I have friends on this Forum, who are very strong willed and minded people crushed by this illness. You perhaps havn't got to that stage yet and you are very lucky. I certainly am not a person to give into things. I have lived under stresses you wouldn't believe and fought and always come out on top with no medication, no doctors or anyones help. I consider myself to be strong, never whinging and taking all that life throws at me and believe me in 43 years I've been thrown more censored than most people face in a whole life time. People who know me well can't believe the things I've overcome. I am no way blowing my own trumpet, but I'm just trying to let you know that for 2 years I was determined that this thing would never beat me. Now I get no respite no matter how hard I fight this thing,it attacks both my mind and body with new and bizarre symptoms all the time. You never know whats coming next. So all I can say to you is like me last year enjoy the good times cos if you end up like a lot of people on this Forum, and I know them very well, and would say in all reality they too are very strong people, and some have overcome things only some of us have dreamed about. But don't be fooled and underestimate the power of this illness, it is like nothing on Earth. It can drive the most strong into the ground, sad but true. I hav'nt given in yet, but their have been times when I've thought how much easier that would be now. Just remember you are speaking to people who are the strongest and bravest people you will ever come across, otherwise we would all be 6ft under. Sorry if I seem harsh but I never believed there was an illness on this Earth that could make me feel so vunerable. It is a damn sight worse than cancer at its worst and I have personal knowlede of this. I know which I'd rather be fighting. If you can fight it, I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but I'm trying to warn you what could come. Perfectly sound people have taken their lives through this bloody illness and my heart goes out to them, but I know now I would never judge cos it is truly evil. I had a vicar friend who too suffered from it. He became schizophrenic and was at deaths door for 3 months, No one is safe and none of us wants to be as we are. But please realise there are people on this Forum who are contemplating suicide cos they can't hack it any more. Loving and beautiful people and if they read the sort of thing you've posted it worries me they will give in. They too were once strong minded and fought, this illness as literally brought them to their knees, believe me I dont mean to sound harsh and apologise profusely if i have but honestly this thing is very clever and very, very EVIL. All the best, and I mean that with all my heart Tracy. Enjoy all those good times while you can.

Anon, a couple quick points as I don't have time...

It is a well known and undisputed fact, recognized the world over that mercury fillings expose you to way more mercury than any other source, including fish which we are cautioned not to eat to much of. One filling is many, many times more powerful than any other source you come in contact with. It is one of the most toxic substances known to man, it leaks mercury (again, not disputed) and they put it in your mouth. It doesn't take rocket science to add this up.

It may not be the cause of everyone's physical symptoms, but it sure can't help. And the $$ is paltry in comparison with your better health and the timeline of medical expenses due to exposure over time.

I do believe that there are hypochondriacs, but I know that I am not one of them.

thats true not all problems revolve around amalgams and candida etc. I know all my mates and everyone I know have more amalgams than me and eat worse and dont suffer what I do.

Its only mainly if you have sensitivites than I understand but we cant go scaring peopel that amalgams are evil. They said that a can of tuna has more mercury than amalgams give off..

ANd if it was Really that bad they would have banned it for sure. I guess FEAR is the worst enemy in my situation.

Also how do you believe what you read off the net. my doc said alot of people and things you read arent real unless you actually see them in real life etc...so wy isnt it fully recognised by modern docs?\

alot of docs think that they use it as a blame but I dont think tats true for people who are sensitvie or allergic to it. my heart goes out to those who suffer.

also people who suffer with severe anxiety adn nerves have exactly the same symptoms as amalgam poisoning. I read it in a book.

These symptoms of anxiety arent made up at all and are REAL!!!

Hypochondriacs - some do it for attention but some actually really do have physical sensations that can be overbearing to the point of suicide so I heard. many have recovered without amalgams removed.

But I have to say if you have sensitivites or allergies to the mercury or amalgams than you will suffer .

We are not hypochondriacs, just hyper sensitive from all the dam mercury and toxins and whatever that has invaded our nervous system and now its extremely hard to detox.............

HI anon, you said that if amalgams were really that bad, they'd have banned them? They already have in certain areas and they have been banned many many years ago but were reintroduced.

Yes they know of the toxicity of these amalgams, but that is not their priority. Money and the fact they are cheap and easy to place and mould into the tooth. They knew they were toxic from the get go.

It is not just about sensitiviity, but about toxicity. If it was just about allergy, I would have gotten well as soon as they were removed. I didn't I had to go through years of hell from detoxing the stuff out of my organs and tissues. It is not about fear mongering, it is genuine and many people heal after going through the detox, some have problems from then on. It's not predictable how it will go and whether some will be lucky enough to get well from amalgam removal or not. But it can be a cause or contributing factors in many inexplicable health problems and it is often worth looking into, especially if someone has searched other avenues and gotten nowhere.

Sweden banned mercury amalgams and in some areas by law they are now required to put up a warning notice in their dental office about some of the risks. They do not of course list all, only the absolutely requirements (e.g. unborn child risk).

And I believe that it contributed to my cancer, if it wasn't for the mercury, I wouldn't be battling for my life right now. I fought candida and drs for 4 years before I was diagnosed...I have lost almost everything including my spirit at times. It is hard and it is expensive, but you can't give in or give up or listen to the medical system...they protect their own.

Best luck,
Sandi

That's a strange diatribe.. kind of like.. I know the answer but I give up anyway.

Personally I think chelation is one of the best investments anyone over the age of 30 can make in their life. It is time consuming, it is a lot of (hellish) work, it can be expensive given the combination of time devoted and funds expended.

But it is well worth it. Your health is the most valuable thing you've got, next to Jesus.

(I have to add that to be completely honest)

Spot on Sandi. My dad never visited the dentist in 80 years. He was in perfect health. He never has suffered from any kind of anxiety disorder or depression. He dosent believe in getting a state about anything, he is very grounded. Unfortunately he had to visit the dentist at eighty with a bad tooth. Aweek later he developed a sore on his tongue. Nothing the doctors gave him got rid of it. What happened very soon after, he too developed cancer, which has now spread. My neuropath was telling me last week about a guy, who had his amalgams removed in hospital by an unholistic dentist. Very soon after he developed cancer of the tongue and jaw. She said she has never known anybody suffer so much in their lives. So does Mercury have a link with cancer, or is it coincidence? I know what I believe and Sandi I'm sure you have no doubts. I havn't asked you how your doing, I've been pretty ill myself and I certainly am no hypochondriac. I would waste no time being or thinking I was ill. All I want, and so does everyone on this forum, is to get well. I hope your fighting spirit is still there Sandi, I know it must be very difficult and I wish you all the luck and love in the world. This illness is Evil, it tests the strongest of us to our limits. I know I'm not a baby when It comes to pain. And last night I got about an hours sleep. The cramps in my legs, made me cry like a baby. They certainly wer'nt imagined! Tracy

I think mercury is only part of the problem. For some bigger and for others smaller. I am not so convinced though anymore that having them removed is necessarily the best thing to do.

I had my amalgams removed 4 years ago and have not really improved. This is despite months and months of chelation, supplements, various treatments etc over the years. I think the most effective thing i have done is to eat healthily. I think now on reflection that i may have been better off if i had just done that and nothing else in the first place. I also smoked, drank alcohol heavily and regularly ate crap food like Mcdonalds for years. I gave up smoking 10 years ago. The chemicals in all those cigarettes alone could have easily been responsible for my health deterioration. The body can only take so much abuse. I also think that we live in such a chemically polluted world as well that problems with health are to be expected.

Interestingly i had vega test the other day (another costly waste of time no doubt) who found that mercury was not my main problem and that i only had small amounts of it in my system.

Amalgams are banned in many countries. But think about the repurcussions of admitting that they cause you harm in this country? They have had proof for years, as well as the logic that I explained above, there would be lawsuits like you wouldn't believe. At this point they have painted themselves into a moral, and financial corner. They can't admit they are making people sick, thus they can't ban them. If they did, it would cost a lot of people a lot of $. It's all about $.

"If they were really that bad they would have banned them"

Your faith in the American Medical system's concern for your long term health and overall well being is miind boggling.

Dear Richard I can understand your line of thinking. But I also at one time thought along the same lines. However things have since convinced me differently. The tiniest bit of Mercury in your system is EXTREMELY poisonous to you if you have a sensitivity to it. A vega test will not tell you this but a Melissa test will. Also I have since heard such horrific stories of Mercury poisoning that I dont doubt eventually the majority of the population will be effected by it. I just heard from a friend of a guy contracting tongue and jaw cancer after having his Mercury fillings removed. He never had a problem before. Coincidence maybe. I agree fully with you that we do abuse our bodies from quite an early age these days and the food and atmosphere are full of all sorts of crap. But its strange how I for one, hands up, lived the life of smoking and drinking and felt really healthy. Would swim 50 lengths a morning, work full time, clean the house, do the shopping, cook the food, and brought up 3 kids almost single handedly. Two trips to the dentist and the most bizarre symptoms within a day, too much of a coincidence I think. I know what your trying to say, but I have medical proof that Mercury caused my illness, my immune system to stop working and for me to get Epstein Barr virus and Cytomeglavirus. My doctor has just prescribed me Quinine for leg cramps. I was a bit sceptical, just looked it up. It is a dangerous poison, says musnt be used for leg cramps and can cause kidney damage. Follow your heart. You are an intelligent person, the smallest amount of any poisonest substance can wreak havoc on anyone. Mercury is no different. Best of luck AND Best wishes Tracy x

None of us can escape mercury. We all have it on our bodies and the best chelation is not going to get rid of all of it. I dont know whether the amount of mercury in my system is what is causing my problems, i dont think anyone does. Like you Tracy i was okay until i got ill. I think stress as well as well as toxins pushed me over the edge into ill health. Bit like the straw that breaks the camels back.

What I dont understanad is I can have part of the day where I feel physically quite strong and I'll wind up doing quite a lot of jobs around the house and garden and enjoy it. The puzzling thing is then when I go to bed however tired I always find it difficult to get to sleep and sometimes feel so ill like last night that I either think I'm going to just drop dead or its so bad I pray to die cos I cant stand feeling so bad anymore. Last night was the worst I think Ive ever felt. I dont understand why we might get those few hours of feeling semi ok and then revert to feeling like someone who is really in the last stages of their lfe. This is certainly not imagined with me. I havnt got a clue why it happens. But the physical stuff at night is unbearable and thats when I usually end up crying.I sweat profusely and have chills to the bone and pain where you want to scream out. Sometimes I have to come downstairs so Evie cant hear me. Honestly if I didnt know anything about Mercury I would swear I had something llike cancer Im not convinced about anything any more. I never had these horrendous symptoms last year, so this illness is definately progressive and at present I am very scared as to what will happen next and how it will end. I t has progressed so rapidly over the last couple of months. I have the weirdest symptoms now, things I just cant understand or explain. Like for instance just one of my hands has light brown lines running down it from the wrist to the fingers. They never go just stay the same. I itch all over and have small sores appearing on my stomach. I cannot control my bladder at all and have no sensation of wanting to go until I wet myself so am continually washing and changing. It all seems like a nightmare. My walking is very difficult again. My doctor tells me I should just stay in bed nearly all the time, well if thats the case I might as well be lying in my coffin. While and if any time I find some strength, I will continue to be up and doing, I refuse to be a vegetable yet. However there are times when I now feel so ill I would love to close my eyes and never wake up. I prayed for that last night. Tracy

Tracy, you are in desperate need of nutrition. That is why you perceive the "illness" as "progressing." I have asked you several times about your diet and what supplements you take and you do not answer. It breaks my heart to hear that you are in such a state but you MUST address these things if you want to get better. Ask for help here if you are not sure how to do this, as there are many people who have been giving excellent advice. Or find a good naturopath. I don't know what other advice I can give, I do feel for you, but you need to take your healing in your own hands and act.

Best wishes,
Linda.

p.s. if you are hypothyroid, as you said, are you on medication for this now? If not, this is also one reason why you are feeling so poorly. You can get Armour in the UK.

Dear Linda dont mean to be rude but I've had this illness for three years. I ve had a Neuropath for three years. I know all there is to know about supplements and diet. Believe me ask Bex for some of us it gets to the point where other issues appear to have taken over, like bacterial infections ect. If only nutrition and supplements were the answer I would be well by now. There is so much more to this. i have Armour, thyroid. every kind of support for every organ you could name. Nothing works for me now as it dosent for Bex. We are not niaeve about our health and I have been on this Forum sometime now, taken advice, tried whats helped others. Sadly some of us are now stuck with nothing else to try Tracy
