I was reading one of Linda's posts about uk chelation when it reminded me of something that I had forgotten about. Not unusual LOL but when I was taken into a NHS hospital last year with a convulsion, there was a young doctor on the ward and Keith explained to him about Mercury fillings and the poitive test I'd had at a private hospital. I was offered IV chelation then, no problem, except I refused because I had'nt had my amalgams removed. This same NHS hospital does 24 hour urine tests for amalgam fillings, but they don't ask people to chelate, so these are pretty useless. But the point I'm getting at is why do they have this chelation available in the hospital? What else could they use it for and as I said, they were perfectly willing to let me have it! Its a puzzle Tracy x

Hmmm, interesting. Of course they'd have to have things like IV chelation available, for cases of heavy metal toxicity. We're talking obvious things, like lead poisoning, or someone dropping a mercury thermometer. Nice they offered it to you, but it sounds like they didn't know a lot about what they were doing if you still had your amalgams in. Still it sounds like they meant well (LOL).
I'm going to try DMSA tomorrow and if I'm OK on it, I'll see my doctor and hopefully get a prescription from him. I honestly don't know what he'd say. But it's worth a go. He's continually told me he doesn't know how to help me with my depression, so I imagine I'd say to him here's his chance.

Just sent you a private post Linda, I believe you live in Leicester and I'm from Hinckley, so we are very close if this is correct. Tracy

Yep, it's a small world isn't it I've been going through your posts here on the forum this morning, trying to get an idea of what's been happening with you. It sounds like you've been through hell but are still fighting admirably. I'll write back in a little while

I'm not sure if it's different in the UK but you don't need a script for DMSA here in the US.

You don't need one here either, if you'd like to pay £38 for a bottle of 45 100mg tablets. I'd rather get a prescription on the NHS at about a ninth of the cost.
Not even sure how much it's helping . . . I've had 2 25mg doses and am very irritable.
