Scientists have found abnormally high amounts of aluminum, zinc, and other metals in brain tissue of people having Alzheimer's.
It is yet unknown whether Alzheimer's causes these accumulations or if these accumulations cause Alzheimer's.
I've had access to this information for years and as a result, have worked to ensure that there is as little aluminum in my diet as possible.
Common sense tells me:
1. Not to cook or store food in aluminum containers.
2. Not to use aluminum foil in the process of cooking or storing food.
3. Don't use anti-perspirant because it almost always contains some form a aluminum (aluminum chlorohydrate, Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex, etc.). Use a natural deodorant instead. Remember, odor is caused primarily by bacteria. If you kill the bacteria, you eliminate the odor. I use a Tea Tree oil -based deodorant and it works great.
4. Don't cook with food containing Aluminum. Check the ingredient list. Many grain-based foods have aluminum added. Check cookies and cookie mixes, breads and bread mixes, baking power/soda, etc. I have even found aluminum in certain brands of coffee creamers (usually the dry powdered type).
5. Several medications contain high amounts of aluminum. Check "milk of magnesia" and other stomach/digestive related medications.

------------------
Russ Tanner
of Herb Allure

Baking powder contains aluminum. I have found that my recipes turn out the same without adding it or by using baking soda.
