Hello,
Last night I was doing some research and I found something that Andy Cutler said about Porcelain Crowns. Is this true?
Andy Cutler said; [[[I think the aluminum in the porcelain is in an extremely insoluble form. You will get a lot more aluminum from the baking powder in stuff you buy at the store and restaurants than you will ever get out of that crown. Porcelain crowns are usually over a stainless steel base, which may be more problematic. Most people tolerate regular (porcelain) crowns fine, a small minority don't.]]]
Does anyone know if this is true or not? And is stainless steel a bad base? If so, what base should we try to get?
Thanks for your help, Elaine

This question about porcelain is a great question. I believe it would be very beneficial to see some studies about the rate that aluminum leaches out of porcelain fillings.
I agree that food can be a large source of it, including baked goods (read your labels).
I have heard of a study (although I have not read it) that says that mixing aluminum with mercury multiplies the toxic effects of the mercury.
Some stainless steel can contain nickel, although I don't know if the kind you're referring to does.
Hope this helps.

Hi Russ,
Thank you so much for replying.
The reason I'm asking this question is, I thought porcelain was a big no-no and I have found a local dentist that claims to remove mercury properly but he uses porcelain inlays and onlays.....I was going to ask him if he would consider trying Diamond Lite but just in case he refuses, I have to be able to accept porcelain. And this was very good news for me. I already have some porcelain crowns but I believe most still have mercury under them and they'll need to be replaced.
I asked about the stainless steel because of what Cutler said about it. He said, "...stainless steel base, which may be more problematic."
Is there another crown base that is better?
Thank you again for all of your help. Elaine

Let us know what you find out, Elaine!
I am really struggling to find an alternative to mercury that I am happy with. No question I want the amalgam removed, but all the alternatives seem to carry some problem with them. This is worring.
My fertility problems have worsened over the past 6-7 years, and that's the time I started to have white fillings instead of mercury. Not because I was as concerned about mercury as I am now, but just to be on the "safe side". But the estrogen the Bisphenol A may leak, along with the sealants I have, is really worrying me and I'm not happy to have these composites instead incase they are contributing to my amenorrhea along with the mercury.
I don't have much money and all my treatment is going to have to be on credit, but I don't want to jump from mercury poisoning to another substance to pollute my body.
From what I've read so far, which hasn't been a lot, the best materials seem to be gold alloy and ceramic porcelain, but they are also the most expensive, and carry risks with them too. I can't afford £2000 right now to have the treatment, and it might cost that much alone to have just one tooth done, and I have about 5-7 teeth with mercury in them.
I'm just hoping that the dentist will come up with something that I can afford and that I am reasonably happy with. I accept that anything I fill my teeth with is not going to be 100% "safe", but I hope better than the mercury. If I can get a composite filling that does not have oestrgen mimicking properties, then I will look into those. I believe there are some.

I haven't done a lot of research on the various amalgam substitutes, so I'm not an expert.
What I have read indicates that "gold alloy" can contain anywhere from 1 to 99% gold, which means that other metals are used to make up the difference. Cheaper gold alloys can contain toxic metals such as nickel and chromium.
Ceramic porcelain inlays/onlays often contain metals in the form of oxides (such as aluminum oxide) or even heavy metals (such as cobalt, barium, cadmium or nickel). These are usually added to give the materials strength and improve their appearance.
I have DiamondLite biocompatible composite fillings, which I believe are among the safest and most biocompatible materials available. My dentist uses DiamondLite in about 80% of his patients.

Hi Demi,
I would have to agree with Laura.....if I had a choice, I would choose Diamond Lite, this seems to be the best on the market. The second best seems to be Diamond Crown.
I just can't find a dentist that is close to me, that uses either; Diamond Lite or Diamond Crown. I have found a dentist that uses Porcelain and I'm just trying to find out if Porcelain isn't as bad as I thought it was.
FYI....you can naturally lower your estrogen overload by eating broccolli and by using a progesterone cream. [Put a small dab on the thin skin of your arm (daily) and make sure you don't use it the week when you are supposed to have your period.] If you would rather take a vitamin, you can use "Vitex" and "Black Cohosh" but don't use these with a progesterone cream.
I hope this helps, Elaine

Diamondlite does sound the best material. I don't think they will have it here, which is a new worry. If the dentist doesn't use it or can't get it, then I will just have to look into going to America. I am so tired of being ill that if there's a chance I can get better and have a clear head again then I'd go to Australia!
Thanks for the broccoli advice What is the cream made of? From what I understand, they either use animal hormones or chemicals. Is that true? I'd rather stay away from any artificial hormones, cream, pill, or fluid! I read that mercury attacks the ovaries along with nerves etc, and could well be why I get no periods.
Thanks for posting.

Elaine, Hal Huggin indicates on his website that Porcelain contains metal oxides, such as aluminum oxide. Plus, apparently the porcelain is fired onto a metal base that fits onto the tooth. The base is sometimes made of gold (expensive and not very strong), but more often stronger and cheaper substitutes are used like nickel (which is carcinogenic). I love the progesterone cream I use, but like you said, you could use an herbal supplement instead. I've actually used a combination called Wild Yam & Chaste Tree and it worked very well. I just found that for me, since I take a lot of other supplements, the progesterone cream was easier ( Pro-G-Yam 500). Let us know if you find any other info on the porcelain.

Hey again Demi, The progesterone cream I use is made from wild yam extract. They don't use any animal hormones or synthetic progesterone. Here's the info sheet on it so you can check it out for yourself: Pro-G-Yam 500 I also found this list of Estrogen-Reducing foods on the internet: Estrogen-Reducing Foods and Herbs Any immature bean or pea such as string beans. Citrus fruit, grapes, pineapples, pears, most berries, figs, most other fruit, except those listed as estrogen-promoting (apples, cherries, olives). Melons, squashes, cole crops such as cabbage, and most vegetables, except estrogen-promoting vegetables (yams, eggplant, tomatoes, potatoes, pepper). Onion, dill, thyme, and many other common herbs. White rice, white flour, millet, buck-wheat, tapioca, corn.

Thanks Laura, you're a gem!
I'm not happy with hormone products, but the estrogen depleting food list is very valuable. I need to get my estrogen levels down naturally

Hi Demi, I use Bliss Cream from; http://www.optimalnaturalhealth.com/fe/blisscream.phpI love it.....you can write to Lelani and ask her what the progesterone is.....sorry I don't know. But I know she uses red raspberries seed extract and the cream actually feels good. If you don't like creams, you might think about the vitex and black cohosh.....vitex helps the body to produce it's own progesterone and of course black cohosh is for the reproductive hormones. But you need to use something cause low progesterone really stresses the adrenals, and visa versa. You problably need to be taking some B-vitamins. I don't really like anything with wild yam, it's mainly estrogen. And I'm sure you know to stay away from styrofoam and other such things, as they leak estrogen. Elaine

Thanks Laura,
Now I don't know what to do.......I can't find anyone who uses Diamond lite......and I was thinking that maybe if aluminum was insoluable, this was good news and it would, at least be better then the mercury but at the same time, I don't want to replace the mercury with anything that is dangerous in a different way. I was sooo hopeing that this was true.
I'm getting so desperate.....I've researched this til my brain is about to explode.....eeeek....there it goes again....heh heh. I know all of the dangers about mercury and I even found the solution (DiamondLite) but I can't find anyone who uses it.

I think that is going to be my problem too, finding someone who uses the diamondlite. The way I feel now, I'm just going to go to someone who does, regardless of how far away they are. I want this mercury gone.

Hi! I have been thinking seriously about trying the Bliss cream. How has it helped you? I know my hormones are all out of wack and I saw the cream advertised on Know the Cause program and it sounded good. Would love to more about it! Vicki

Hi Vicki,
The Bliss cream has been amazing for me.....it actually helps my insomnia. I've had insomnia all of my life, and I think I've taken everything on the market.....the two things that I found that help me and don't leave me hung-over the next day are Phosphatidyl Serine and Bliss Cream. But a lot of the times I've taken Bliss Cream without taking the Phos and it still helps.
I've had a complete total Hysterectomy and the Bliss has really helped to calm my nerves also. I had gone without hormone supplements for a long time and I was kind of frazzeled but I got on Doug's diet and started using several things that he recommended, including the Bliss Cream and it brought me back to some sort of normalacy. It also made my skin look a lot better. I also tried her Razz-Up and that stuff is also very good.....I think it's anti-oxident and I feel sooo good after I take it. But I used her BHB and something else that is supposed to support all of the hormones and I didn't notice anything when I took it but when I stopped taking it, I felt horrid.....so I won't recommend her BHB.
Although, I'm off Doug's diet now.....I'm still using the Bliss, Seagates Olive Leaf and a few other products that I can't live without....heh heh!
I don't make any money or anything else when I recommend these products......I just use them and love them.

Thanks Elaine! I am going to get some! I don't follow Doug's diet but I am very strict how I eat. I eat for my health and not for my pleasure right now because of my loss of health. I am amazed at how well I have been able to give up some foods I love. Anyway, thanks for the information! Vicki
PS Are you healthy right now or do you have symptoms of some kind?

Hi Vicki,
Hmmmm.....healthy......hmmmmmm......gee, I'm still alive......hee hee. Seriously, lately I'm having more problems with sore achy joints and muscles.....and one of my fingers locks up on me and I have to force it to open. The deeper I got into an antifungal diet, the harder it was physically......but mentally it was better. Then I blew the diet and I haven't been eating very healthy lately.
I just got really tired of trying to eat right and going through the rollercoaster of die-off (which would almost kill me) and then feeling better......and I knew it wouldn't get better until I got the mercury out of my mouth.....I almost felt like I was spinning my wheels and not going anywhere.
I've been researching about mercury for a while and I started looking for a dentist, I found one (who was listed on Huggins site) about 3 hours away but his price kept going up.....his estimate was for $14,000.00, which I don't have, and he used porcelain crowns.
I'm sorry, I started rambling.....yes, I have a lot of symptoms.....when I found this site, I read a lot of the posts and I sat there in shock because I hadn't realized the full extent of how many of my symptoms were mercury related....I grew up with these fillings, so I always took the symptoms as normal for me.

Hi, Elaine! I figured you probably were struggling cause of course you wouldn't be on the forum! I know what you mean having so many symptoms. When I went to get tested for lymes I was given a sheet of about 116 symptoms. I had over 100 of them. Have you ever looked into lymes? It is a really disturbing illness because it is nearly impossible to be tested for it. I am hearing that there is a test that is supposed to be pretty dependable. I don't want to believe I have lymes, but those involved in the lymes research believe one out of every fifteen Americans are carrying the lymes bacteria. They claim it is the second fasted growing disease next to AIDS. The reason it is not recognized is because of the difficulty in being tested and finding the disease. I also mimics many other diseases and they are also finding out that it can be transmiited from person to person and are finding the bacteria in mosquitos. Ever since I lost my health and had to begin to find my own answers, I find more and more information that is disturbing and scary! What are your main symptoms? Mine are dizziness, imbalance, head pressure, and mild fatigue that doesn't allow for much activity. This spring I began walking for a half an hour each day that I could and that was a big deal!! Hi Vicki,
No, I've never looked into Lymes. Oh my gosh, mosquitos.....I always thought Lymes was carried by ticks and I've never been bitten by a tick. But mosquitos love me.....they will go past 15 people to get to bite me. I try to stay in the house....but they are carried in by my family and they immediately come over to me. We recently moved into a new home and we have a ditch behind our house, which is always full of stagnant water and we've noticed how much bigger the mosquitoes are.
My main symptoms; Brain fog anxiety nervousness head pressure stomach problems heartburn thinning hair extreme fatique muscle and joint pain blurry vision
Golly-gee-whiz, I could go on but this probably gives you a general idea. I have noticed my symptoms are getting worse since I've moved but I'm also getting older and I've got a mega-bunch of mercury for a really long time.

Hi Elaine, I don't know if you saw my post on another thread of the Mercury Forum, but just in case you didn't, I wanted to post it for you here... If you or anyone else is trying to find a dentist that safely removes amalgam fillings according to Dr. Huggins protocol, you might try contacting Dr. Huggins' office directly and ask them if they have a referral for dentistis in your area. Dr. Huggins contact information in Colorado is: Voice 1-719-593-9616 Fax 1-719-548-8220 Email - email@drhuggins.comYou may want to talk to ("interview") more than one dentist...we did. We actually talked to 3 dentist offices by telephone and asked them numerous questions about how they did the removal process, what filling materials they used, etc., etc. If I remember correctly, I think we spent at least 30 minutes minimum with each office. With the dentist we finally ended up going to see for a consultation, we actually spoke with his office manager (who happened to be his wife), for at least an hour. We were thrilled to find out that this dentist was fully informed on all the latest information regarding mercury poisoning and mercury removal. All of this is to emphasize the point that, just like anything else, there are good dentists who care and charge reasonable prices, and then there are not-so-good dentists who recognize the "mercury epidemic" as an income opportunity. When Russ and I had our amalgams removed 4 years ago in Florida, the cost per tooth was between $150 and $250 - this included removal of the amalgam and replacement with the biocompatible filling material. Neither of us had any crowns, bridges, root canals, etc., which of course, would be more expensive. I realize that prices may have risen in the past 4 years. However, some people I have personally talked to had estimates that were ridiculous, and I encouraged them to seek out another dentist. Let us know if we can help in any other way!

Good advice, Laura. I am making as much enquiries as possible before I go and see someone else. It cost me £80 to see the other guy (approx $140) and he was no use at all.
I won't make that mistake again!

I have a mouth full of mercury (fillings, crowns ,root canals) and have had twelve pregnancies. As far as the aluminum in "porcelain " crowns, remember that dentists claimed that hg did'nt come out of fillintgs.

It does'nt matter whether the progesterone is natural.Progesterone has side effects and the dose in creams is large.
