I'm two months into my gluten free/casein free diet and my health has greatly improved. In addition to losing almost 30 pounds I have much more energy and less pain.
Apparently my body was being flooded by neurotoxic peptides from the wheat and dairy products that I have eaten all of my life (I'm 43). While chelation was somewhat helpful I still had far too many toxins in my body.
Of course it's early in the game and I still have some very bad days but I feel like my health is on an upswing now.

Aaron, that's great news! It sounds like you're on the right track and are finally making some headway. I realize you still have ups and downs, but I wouldn't downplay the fact that you're experiencing more "ups" than before. In fact, with all that you've been through, I'd encourage to you "celebrate" the good days and make the most of the them!
Please keep us posted and your progress and also on what things you find may contribute both to your ups and your downs...I'm sure many of us could benefit from your experience with these diet changes.

Good stuff Aaron...mercury affects the enzymes that digest the proteins in dairy and gluten, mercury toxic individuals would all do much better if they would eliminate them from their diet. The undigested food particles stick in the colon. breeds more candida and leads to many degenerative diseases including the big C.
I am so glad that you made the connection Aaron, best luck on your road to health.

HI Aaron, that is wonderful news. Stick with it and dont cheat if you can, because it takes so long to gain improvement with the very sick and cheating just seems to cause a massive relapse and having to start again (does in my case).
hey, are you allowed acidophilus yoghurt at all? Or is even that excluded? What about other grains like rice? Because I have problems with OWGG (old world grass grains) which is wheat, oats, barely, rye, rice, and even pears and apples.
anyway, again great to hear this news and hope it continues that way. And yeah problem is, it is unwise to deal with just one thing in a person's condition. Like dealing with mercury and doing nothing about the diet or anything else. Because the reason the person got poisoned in the first place, maybe due to some other things as well, which made them even more suseptible to the mercury.
I think that weak immunity or something "wrong" could happen even in the womb, which may account for why some people just plummet far more easily.
Do you eat sugar at all? If so, how does that affect you? I cannot go near it. Not even in high carb vegetables like potatoes.

Bex, I eat some brown rice and corn because when I try to eliminate all grains I develop hypoglycemia and I feel like I'm going to pass out. I'm trying to eliminate corn because it has glutamate in it that can cause more seizures. I still eat a little bit of dark chocolate and some fruit. Sandi, thanks for explaining the connection between mercury toxicity and food intolerances. I'm not feeling as good today as I did yesterday. I'm still quite unstable. Of course I know that the healing process is slow but it is frustrating because I've already lost so much of my life. By the way, this is a device that I might use ( www.alpha-stim.com). It was recommended by my former psychologist. Is anyone familiar with it?

How are you on the veg, protein and fat Aaron? If you eat those things in the balance your body requires, they should give you a good slow burn. Have you tried eating other things when you need a snack, like nuts?

Hi Aaron, whatever works for you. Doesn't sound too bad to me anyway. Sadly, I cannot eat any of those things much, apart from limited corn, and definitely not chocolate or fruit, just feeds the yeast. In fact, when I had a bad enough candida problem, I found that if I did not have enough sugar I too would get hypoglycemia symptoms too. I actually thought I was doing myself good when I would have cocoa and sugar or something else with sugar becuase it made me feel better. Overall I was simply feeding yeast and continuing the problem long term. I have a cousin who believes that she must have her sugar fix daily to avoid low blood sugar. The odd thing is, natural sugars are in all healthy foods, there isn't any need to eat junkfood, it's not healthy, not natural and there is nothing inside the body that requires it. Basically it's a false quick high, and can actually cause or contribute to problems like diabetes, hypoglycemia etc.
THere is actually enough energy and natural sugars in tomatoes, lemons, and vegetables and your body gets a pile of energy from the natural healthy fats.
Not only do they fill a person up, but sustain them too and do many other things. I use them liberally. I stay away from the bad fats like hardened vegetables oils / trans fats.
At any rate, what you're doing sounds far better than stuff you could be consuming! I know that there are definitely attributes in fruit and dark chocolate too, antioxidants etc, but again they are plentiful in vegetables as well, so I have to pretty much stick with that. Wish I could eat some fruit and dark chocolate though.
Did get away with it once when candida wasn't quite so bad

I hit bottom again and the last few weeks have been tough. I have had a few good days but my health is still marginal.
I've read a lot about peptide poisoning from gluten and casein and I think that I'm going through withdrawal. The theory is that once you greatly reduce or elminate those things in your diet the opiate peptides that they produced begin to leave your brain and you can develop withdrawal symptoms such as agitation and depression. I've read that it can take one or two years for the brain to recover from this.
I have seizures and severe headaches almost every day and it's hard to keep going and believe that things will get better.
I'm still taking some DMSA and ALA per the Cutler Protocol to deal with any mercury that may be left in my body. However, now I see that mercury is just part of the problem so I'm putting a lot of focus on eating a good diet.

The anti candida diet is not an anti cancer diet at all.

Maybe not, but do you think feeding yeast and increasing the load on the immune system helps?
