Well this is what happened to me. I got worse immediately after the last amalgam removal had been done. That could have been because I swallowed the removed mercury thanks to the assistant not using the suction when she should have.
But then I was given some chelation and my symptoms appeared to settle again to a point, but I was still different, not sure whether better or worse....but nothing major.
This was in 1997. Then I think in late 1998 - 1999 the dumping stage started. So for me it seemed to hit pretty late. I basically didn't know what hit me, it was like being repoisoned but in a much worse way than I had ever been. I went to the doctor and he gave me a DMPS (IV) challenge test. Well this pushed it even more than ever, and from then on my body was unloading so much stored mercury that everyday was almost a hell on earth for me.
It was coming out on my skin when I heated up (bath, exercise). It would cover almost my entire body, even scalp, face, the lot. It would itch, it was hot and it would take hours to go back down sometimes. This would get even worse if I started taking anything that encouraged metal detox, so the rash would be absolutely incredible. I would show my parents and they'd be stunned, never seen anything like it.
I believe the DMPS must have somehow grabbed a load of stored mercury and pushed it into areas, skin, everywhere and forced my body to really start moving it out. So I was very sick. After that, anything I took for mercury produced a MASSIVE herxeimer reaction (healing crisis) because the mercury was so much more accessible to grab. In a way it was bad, yet in a way good, so it's hard for me to explain.
Andrew Hall Cutler's detox protocol was the safest and most effective I came across. Pity that I did not use it earlier on, I may have saved myself a lot of extra suffering. Though his was not easy either, the symptoms were never as horrific as they were on the other stuff.
So I'd say the dumping of mercury started in 1999 and I had to keep detox for about 2 years or so. Then I started feeling better and getting well. But that fell apart due to a viral infection, and then other dental problems later on, which I'm now suffering chronic illness daily. Worse even than the mercury.
Anyway, that's how it was for me. But the typical time for the dumping stage to start is apparently about 6 months after last amalgam removal. Some it happens later, some earlier and sometimes it's triggered by something to start it up.
One guy I know didn't have the dumping happen and he was given some detox for mercury which we reckon triggered the dumping to start and he was not in good shape at all. That can happen to people.
