Hi All, I have been chelating for almost 4 weeks withDMSA. I also need to loose some weight and have heard very good things about this Almased soy protein powder mixed with water. It is very high in protein and aminos and good for stabilizing blood sugar. I was wondering if its OK if I take this stuff while chelating (either on or off days) for say 3 days or so. I would still be getting nutrition but not much fat (which I don't need now anyway) Iwould continue all my supplements ( algin, VITC & E, ect..). Thanks for the help/insight! Diane

You can take just about anything alongside chelating, it does not interfere with it at all. The only danger is how they affect you? and are they safe in respect to the mercury itself? Some supplements can stir the mercury up quite wildly and worsen symptoms dramatically and sometimes long term. So you have to cautious. People on here have sometimes had adverse reactions to garlic supplements , amino acid supplements, cilantro, chlorella, msm , etc... however, some do well. So it's really a very individual thing, but no they will not interefere with the chelation, you can take supplements the entire time. I personally dont hear great things about soy and choose not to take it. I steer clear of things like gluten grains, wheat, sugar, honey, milk, too much fruit, soy, yeast, etc. Those things tend to cause issues in people with mercury because so often they have a yeast overgrowth which can cause intolerances to many foods, not to mention they feed the yeast also. Healthy fats are very beneficial by the way, especially to someone with mercury toxicity. They aid healing, encourage bile flow, and especially for brain healing. So dont shy away from the good fats like butter, organic virgn coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, lard, cod liver oil (make sure mercury free) etc. Far from gaining weight, they often aid losing weight because they give the body what it needs and help satiate the appetite, provide energy, good for the skin, eyes, hair, brain etc.. On the other hand, the bad fats like hardened vegetable oils cannot even be properly utilised by the body and are toxic. trans fats etc, stay away from. Animal fats, plus coconut and olive oils are extremely good. Here is a link you may find interesting and surprising http://www.westonaprice.org/knowyourfats/index.html

If I take vitamins with soy oil fillers I feel like junk for a good few days.
I prefer whey protien to soy, better muscle builder and much better for you especially if chelating, raises your glutathione levels. Don't know if it will help you lose weight though.

I second this. Whey protein is apparently excellent for some for the reasons sosick gave, raising glutathione levels, which are needed for detoxing. Plus it protects as well as detoxes and some people have conquered their candida and mercury easier with whey becuase of this.
