I'm Canadian, and have to tell you that--unfortunately--there is no such ban on mercury amalgam in Canada. The Canadian Dental association is just as much in denial as the American one, and Canadian dentists do contineu to use mercury amalgam. Perhaps you are thinking about countries like Sweden and Germany who have either banned mercury amalgam or issued warnings about it.
