I can testify that at least the foot bath that I used does pull out some heavy metals out, or at least stirs them up. Actually having a foot bath let to my diagnosis of mercury poisoning. Long story made very short: I had the foot bath. Alot of icky stuff came into the water, beside the normal water color change. I felt ok right afterward but as time went on I went downhill. I began to have major dizziness, muscle weakness and extreme exhaustion. I couldn't get out of bed for almost a week. I went to my doctor (an osteopath) he said I must get the amalgams out and start detox. After doing a week of intense research I realized that doing the footbath with the amalgams in was very dangerous. It was pulling more mercury out of them. I have since had most of the amalgam replaced. Hope to have the last small one, as well as, some older white fillings replaced and two permanent retainers removed soon.
