How does she explain how an entire lake can become contaminated by a tiny amount of mercury? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'd say that as well meaning as she comes across, many dentists are on a mission to protect themselves and their colleagues from the truth about mercury. she may either be totally ignorant on it and prefers to remain that way, or she is covering up.

Mercury is THE most toxic metal known to man, second only to Plutonium. How does she justify that? The oral environment being warm and moist is probably the WORST possible place they could consider putting any mercury at all. Add chewing and hot fluids on top and it's a no brainer.

You have to wonder how the dentists manage to dumb themselves down to such a degree as to actually believe it's "safe". Or are they so exposed to mercury vapor that that commen sense no longer prevails?

Sorry for being blunt here, but I take what they say with a very large grain of salt. But she is right on the composites, that yes some people do indeed have reactions to them also because of all the chemicals. It is very hard to find a material that a person will be ok with. But mercury should never even be an option and I cannot understand why it was even considered in the first place. That stuff is lethal and accummulative.
