Sosick,
you sound like a strong person. For most of my life I never stood up for myself, did not know my rights. If a dentist told me as a teenager that he was putting yet another filling that happens to contain mercury into my mouth ,I would not have questioned him at all,I would have presumed that he knew what he was doing, and would have trusted him.
I am 28now,this changed for me when I was 21 years old.Suddenly a fog lifted that was clouding my judgement &keeping me docile.
At the time I was trying to get through my final year in college,I specialised in ceramics/sculpture.It was a new college course &the lab for glazes was non existant, which meant that the toxic powder glazes were in bags haphazardly stored all over the studio where all of us students worked,I did not know at the time about the toxic nature of glazes &actually did not use them for my work that year(or ever since)but because the studio was freezing &students complained they gave us hot air blow heaters on the walls, this of course blew the glaze powder in the tiniest
particles all over us &in us.Well to top it off we all came out in an itchy rash, under one of the roof heaters was a large sheet of

fibreglassas well .our eyes &ears were wrecked.
None of us had realised the cause of this at that point.
When I figured out what was happening,I told them I was not staying/working here in these conditions,I got help to move my sculpture & moved it to the main entrance to the college were I continued my work, the class followed 1by 1 .It took a few weeks of meetings with all kinds of people in suits, health &safety etc,I even got threatened by 1 of the lecturers when there was no one else there.his job was on the line after all.
Within weeks they had a proper ventilated glaze lab,a lab technician, etc etc.I graduated &got the hell out of there.
It's possible that part of my health problems are still due to the exposure to those chemicals, back in college.Lead being one of them.
I have no idea why I'm telling you this story,I find it so much easier when I'm sick,so low in energy not to stand up to these people. But I am a very righteous person &will not tolerate lies .When I am a bit stronger &thinking more clearly I will let my dentist know what I have been through, maybe I will write my story.
Now I question as much as I can,but it's a two way thing ,you need someone to answer.
ps Did you really say"get this crap out of my mouth!"??
See I think &believe it's crap, but when it comes to the crunch,I'm all polite in a confrontational situation, that is not to say I would let them do what they like to me,I am extremely fussy about the dentists/doctors I see now.I have to feel they are sympathic/understanding &that they believe in what they are doing.Usually it seems to be the ones who have suffered the same way themselves or had a loved one suffer.
Thanks Sosick.
