Well I read a while back about some dental lab that claimed to make their crowns and inlays on premises in California but they were actually having them made in China (cheaper, ask why, cheaper labor yeah of course, cheaper materials junk) so one can assume they were just the ones that got caught and then of course I have been reading about this all week: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/31/w...p;partner=MYWAY&pagewanted=print...and then of course we should all know by now that just about everything these days has something in it that was manufactured cheaply in China and lables mean nothing.. Seriously, I had really high lead levels as well as mercury after dental work. Of course I worked with lead based paints for years, was always careful though, and haven't worked with that stuff in over 10-15 years and my health was always real good up until the dental work which I could swear tasted like lead, a burnt sweet really obnoxious taste which did not go away until I had the darn crap removed. It was really funny. I went there in said to them,'get this crap out of my mouth'... the dental assistant freaks and yells at me 'it's not crap it's a filling!' gee whiz what a moron is all I thought. Crap. C-R-A-P. What I cannot figure out, is why is it ok for dentists to use cheap materials and pretend they are ok but it's illegal for me to write them a bad check and pretend it's ok? Same thing right? They pretend their work is ok, I pretend my check is ok, we're even far as I can tell. I didn't write a bad check to a dentist but I definitely should have. I did stop payment on one though, they wouldn't let me out the door without paying even though I felt immendiately that paying them was a mistake. they didn't argue about the stop payment though. Funny indeed, like they knew that 2 or 3 days later there would be a problem. I gave them the check, went home and straight to my bank and stopped payment immediately. That worked well. Let them sue me instead of vice versa, good luck. Thing is with dentists, they are very hard to sue, you need a medical expert right? well same for them, they need a medical expert to prove their work is good. Keep that in mind.
