I found IV chelation, EDTA and DMPS, to be the best thing for a quick cure. I imagine it greatly would help alleviate any 'post crash' also because of the other toxic metals/whatever removed during the process. Taking an ALA capsule (mine are 60 mg) immediately after a DMPS IV works wonders btw.

I was too sick post-amalgam removal to use DMSA. I used it a couple of times but it made me feel much worse, so I had to ride it out. And yes, almost 6 months to the day I got much worse for about 3-4 months. Now, at 11 months post-amalgam removal, I am beginning to feel better and I can start to chelate properly. Now I feel better on round.
I have come to the conclusion that actually the body knows best what to do, and gets rid of the mercury all by itself. Brain mercury is another matter. Yes the mercury dumping is deeply unpleasant, and I had to be kind to myself and rest up as much as I could. And it was bleak, and I thought it was never going to end. I also looked into taking chlorella or Algin to absorb the mercury in my gut, but I cannot tolerate either of those. You may have better luck.
What I am trying to say is that the 6 month organ dump does come, but I remained functional throughout (felt horrid though) and I could tolerate nothing that would alleviate symptoms. And my mercury levels are definitely lower now and symptoms less than they were before.
hope this is encouraging.

I agree with Nicola. The 6-9 month crash does come, but I, too, remained functional throughout. I think both Nicola and I are on the same protocol.
You come out of it, though. I'll be 9 months next week and I am seeing improvement again. In my case, the dumping wasn't as bad as before the amalgam removal. Hope this helps a bit.

Have either of you noticed any symptoms of brain redistribution? Headaches, less cognitive function than before?
