Would iodine possibly be of use even if thyroid markers are apparently normal?

A super-bright guy on one of the other forums (an Andy Cutler antagonist, by the way, who doesn't believe in chelation) thinks iodine is important to rebuilding neurological structures after mercury toxicity.

Is there any downside to dose-appropriate iodine supplementation?

Try the kelp, you'll like it. I think your thyroid likes to store iodine and can only store so much. It will store posions of it's not fully loaded with what it actually needs. Extra iodine protects aginst all sort of environmental radiation, which can damage your thyroid.

I use 100% daily recommended value some days, double dose every other day or so.
