As the hospital I contacted regarding chelation is 100 miles away, an IV chelation programme is impractical, so my doctor wants me to take EDTA suppositories, 3 days a week over a period of 12 weeks. Has anyone used these with any success?

Haven't used them found plenty of information via the net saying they were pretty worthless though. A colonic might be a whole lot quicker. Also, IV chelation isn't generally done at hospitals, you need to locate and integrative medical or alternative med Dr who specailizes in it. You usually go to his office for this, not the hospital. Contact this place, http://www.acamnet.orgthey may know of doctors in the UK

Tracy...How have you been? While I haven't been able to find any information about EDTA suppositories, I hope that you have found doctors that are taking the mercury poisoning serious enough to look into chelation. From what I read, there are much better chelators available today than EDTA. At the same time, I am happy to hear that your doctors are looking into chelators.

My dentist recently told me about these suppositories. They are called Detoxamin and are apparently available without a prescription. You could even do a heavy metal provocation test with these suppositories, however, from what I was told, EDTA does not pull out mercury as well as some of the other chelators. It still is a good option though to decrease your heavy metal load without using the other much stronger chelators.
