Never used HMD, currently use a DMSA formula.
However, prior to finding a DR, I used cilantro with chlorella (pretty much alone, no other chelators) and I cannot really say it helped me much, though I can't say it made me worse either, it may have helped some, but not much. I was very poisoned so it's hard to say really. My Dr chelated me via IV, the first DMPS (for the blood tests) gave me my first certain little bit of relief, follwing with more IV DTA and DMPS, and when the oral DMSA was added for at home use in between DR appts, I really began to make swift progress. I still use cilantro and chlorella, almost daily in small quantities, but I also follow it with the DMSA formula now to really help bind the metals. With me, cilantro alone without a strong binder such as DMSA, is trouble. The chlorella helps but doesn't compare to the DMSA for me.
Fresh raw garlic added to that routine is good for me too btw. I eat some garlic loaded food during the day. I read somewhere a while back something about garlic having the ability to make the mercury more water soluble. If I go a few days without any garlic I start feeling lousy. The cilantro is great, garlic mobilizes things a bit differently, maybe gets things in places the cilantro or DMSA cannot, not sure, just know it works well all together.
Real well, I feel great! Though that banana bread loaded with flaxmeal I made yesterday helped whole bunches too, I was so hungry and healthy snacks are so difficult to find. Need to fatten myself up a bit after being so sick... heh. I used coconut oil with a tad of butter in place of the shortening to help boost my fatty acids in a healthy way too. Subsituted the sugar with xylitol. I ate the whole thing almost... need to make more of that. yummy.
