HI Dawn, same thing happens to me and another guy I know. He uses DMSA for a while before he gets back into ALA after a dental visit as he finds he has to. He was making a lot of progress, but after a dental visit, he was put back quite far, and when he tried using ALA (as he had been previously), he got too sick because obviously he wasn't ready for it from the renewed dose of mercury. So DMSA seemed to work for him for a while. If I was you? I'd go for the DMSA and algin to be safe. ALA may not be wise if you've had a renewed mercury vapor exposure. But it depends how you feel.

Best local anaesthetic? I don't know the names, but make sure you specifiy that you want one that is NON vaso constrictor / NON epinephrine . They can cause problems. Vaso constrictors can seriously frustrate blood flow to the area, which apparently can risk cavitations to occur in the first place.

So just make sure you ask for one without it.
