Now that I'm newly mercury aware, I realize that my sister has suffered from major depression since she was 14 or so. She now takes antideps which work ok, but they have side effects and she'll be on them for life. If she goes off them, she gets horribly depressed.
Of course, her depression is "genetic" and she also goes to therapy where they try to find reasons for her being down. Trouble is, out childhoods were pretty idyllic and I just don't buy the genetic angle.
My dad's a physician, and he is pretty open-minded. But the mercury issue doesn't register on his radar, and he'd be annoyed if I suggested that my sister have her amalgams out.
Also, I would feel guilty if she had a difficult time of it or got worse. Plus, there's little chance I could sell her on Andy's protocol.
It sucks, watching someone you care about suffer for no reason. And worse, it sucks having her be tormented by shrinks who convince her the depression is from her childhood, or her attitudes, or her genetics, when I would be anything if she hadn't had amalgam, she'd be infinitely better off.
Oh, and my mom has a mouthful of mercury which I'm sure crossed that placental barrier nicely when she had both my sister and me.
