Looking back over my life, I have come to realize that the most hurtful, harmful and expensive events in it have been caused by people who don't care.
As I began to change my attitude and take personal responsibility for my life, some people around me didn't like it because nobody likes to be questioned, especially when it implies that you're questioning their skill or integrity, but it's a perfectly normal thing to do. We don't completly trust strangers the first time we meet; that trust grows with (good) experience.
Unfortunately, I can not number the times I have heard about someone going into a dentist, requesting safe, mercury-free fillings and then walking out with a fresh shiny, amalgam in their mouth. It's amazing and astounding; almost beyond belief.
It's undoubtedly hard to question those who provide services to you, whether it be your mechanic, your doctor, or your dentist, but I have learned this:
(1) They are working for you. You have every right to question what they are doing, especially when it affects your health so intimately, and
(2) If they are offended by your questions, they are more-than-likely the wrong person for the job.
I wish I could express the freedom I now enjoy (largely because of my mercury removal) that allows me to say "no, I'm gonna' check somewhere else" or "would you mind performing this service this way". This tremendous freedom allows you to take control of your health and life albeit at the risk of offending some, no matter how polite you are (I'm a big believer in being polite).
In my experience, it gets much easier to take this kind of control once you've detoxed mercury for awhile (mercury tends to make people timid and fearful... according to studies I've read, and in my personal experience, I now know how true it is).
The bottom line is this. If someone is your true friend, they look out for your best interest. If a dentist is providing quality dentisty and taking pride in their work, they will not be offended by questions and concerns. If they are offended, it's a very good sign they are the wrong person for the job.
Be encouraged.
It's not easy to take control of this situation, but it's a skill that gets easier with time and it well worth the effort. It also applies to nearly all other areas of life. You have the right and the responsibility to yourself and those who love and care about you, and you can do it.
Looking at the world through the fearless eyes of a mercury-free body is indeed a new paradyme.
Don't let a few grumpy people stop you. You're on a great road. Let's be sure you make it all the way to the end. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
