I would not eat charcoal. I know it is used here and there, but charcoal can contain numerous carcinogens. Oak for instance is poisonous, many woods contain numerous substances that may not be good for you to eat. Chlorella or bentonite is a much safer way to go to absorb stomach toxins. Another easy and sure way out is to get a colonic (internal cleanse). The lady that does mine charges only $75.00 US and it made a major, major, difference for me, just the very first one. So many toxins can be flushed out in just one session, I consider it an absolute must for detoxification after my experience.
One of the best and most affordable vitamins you can buy for oxidative stress is Vitamin C, ascorbic acid type for mercury/heavy metal poisoning. You need a full 2000-3000 mgs per day if posioned. One of my doctor friends recommends even double that amount. Vitamin e is excellent also, but second to Vit C, everything is second to Vit C. Cod liver oil, mercury free, an absolute must to feel better quickly, 1 tablespoon per day. Selenium good. You need extra zinc for the mercury/heavy metal posioning also. Mercury and lead both inhibit your body's ability to access zinc, which is essential for your immune system. You may also consider adding some calcium and magnesium to replace the toxic metals that come out of your bones as you detoxify. You must provide good nutrients to replenish the poisons that are removed or your body will try to reabsorb the wrong metals simply because it needs something.
my vitamin bill while detoxifying is enormous.
betcha you have lead in your urine tests as well as mercury. The urine tests are pretty good, I wouldn't worry. Everything shows up there.
eat apples, filter your tap water with a Brita filter or comparable at minimum. Better ones are available depending on your budget but brita will remove a lot of lead, found in lots of tap water, and chlorine. A really simple thing that I have been doing that I know for sure helps my recovery, is eating dandelion salads, olive oil and lemon for dressing. Find a clean field or yard, no fertilizers or weed killers or other chemicals nearby to pick them. A little bit of lemon juice in a glass of water will also help your liver release toxins. good to drink that in the morning every day. Be careful of the soaps you use, many contain mercury. Ivory soap contains mercury. You can see the mercury and other junk in a lot of cheap soaps, take a good look, it'll have a metallic sheen. Glycerin soap may be a safer bet. Use psyllium fiber throughout the day, especially after eating, to keep your bowels moving steadily. And use a non-flouride toothpaste. The less chemicals your body has to deal with daily, the better. Avoid junk foods. Drink green tea, it has very lttle caffiene and is a great anti-oxidant. Too much caffiene may interfere with your chelating efforts and will also interfere with your body's uptake of good nutirents.
If you spend money on just a few things, make it the Vitamin C, zinc, cod liver oil, and a water filter if you can. You can use salt and baking soda in place of non-flouride toothpaste, great for the gums. Dandelions are free and green tea is so cheap I won't mention it.
Whey protien powder is also a big help. Do not use soy products.
I think your brain will be fine btw. Cells in our bodies and brains are always dying and being replaced, like dead skin sloughing, your bones, your blood, everything. If your brain were completely damaged it's doubtful you would feel any pain or notice problems. Vitamin C can help you heal. Make that top of your list.
