I had five fillings replaced with white composites about a two months ago. I only have one tiny mercury filling left in one of my wisdom teeth. I also have a gold cap (nhs). I seem to have a problem with a bitter metallic taste in my mouth which I had for a while before the filling removal, only it seems to worse at the mo. could the new composites cause a bad taste aswell. Or do you think its just the mercury release from having them removed. Also I am not sure whether the gold cap was placed over a mercury filling aswell which I have heard is dangerous. Would an xray be able to get through the gold crown and see if there was a filling there?
