HI Everyone, Well I am going to try and fix up my diet again before I seriously start chelating in a month or so. The problem is that I am addicted to my one cup of coffee around morning tea time. In the mornings I am soooooo fatigued that I sometimes feel like I am going to fall asleep at my office desk (which by the way has lovely big fluoroscent lights hanging directly above me). I go and purchase my coffee and although it generally makes me feel a bit anxious, it allows me to get through my working day with more energy and clarity. By night fall even though the caffeine would have worn off, my energy levels pick up and I feel fine.
I really want to get off the caffeine round about. I know that I shouldn't have to rely on caffeine to get through the day. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for energy pick up. I was toying with the idea of ginseng, but not sure if I should try panax or siberian ginseng. Have any of you used ginseng with success for debilitating fatigue. Or could anyone suggest a better herb. Love to hear your thoughts.
Cheers from Rachie

Feeling tired in the morning and wide awake at night at typical signs of low thyroid and / or adrenals, both of which are very common with mercury toxicity. I would get your Free T3 and T4 levels checked first, and then decide whether the problem can be dealt with with herbs or whether you actually need hormone replacement. Loads more information here .. www.stopthethryoidmadness.comBest Nicola

Here are a couple suggestions that may help: Energy-V http://mynsp.com/herballure/products/guide.aspx?stockNum=875Of course, finding the root of the issue would be the best approach. You could have low T-3, circulatory issues, iodine deficiency, high homocysteine, adrenal issues, etc. If you want to get off of the caffeine, here is something that I personally use that takes about 80% of the difficulty away: Caffeine DetoxI love coffee. Unfortunately, caffeine is horrible for your health, especially in the long term. I only have coffee about once every 6 weeks. All the best.

ginseng is a good herb, but to remain effective you have to use it for two weeks and then take a two week break because your body will adapt to very quickly ,my sggestion is to wean off the coffee start drinking green tea instead coffee it has 1/4 the caffine and is high in antioxidants and eventully wean off green tea as for the ginseng ,between your two week break of ginseng you can take an herb called (holy basil) it is an adapagenic herb like ginseng and has calming energetic properties ,you can find it at most GNC stores( good luck)

I second the green tea. With honey. I buy green tea with ginseng in it. Not expensive, about $2.00 at most for a box. Check the coffee/tea section of your local supermarket. Drink all you like.
