Part of the problem is the term "conspiracy theory". The word itself tends to invoke all sorts of 'Yeah Right's and 'Whatever's. But that's exactly what any aspiring conspirator is hoping for.
Actually, I use the term because it's exactly a correct term for the subject. Also, I resent the fact that the media has poisoned the term and that many people still do not yet understand the depth of the control and the extent of the deception that nightly news plays in our lives.
In truth, I am doing two things in continuing to use the term:
(1) Use it to expose how mass media poisons terms to discredit those they hate in hopes it will help wake some people up, and
(2) Being stubborn with indignation.
I would love to see people begin to think about the words they use and how they are manipulated to influence their behavior.
People need to realize that the "idea" that a few guys living in a cave hijacked commercial jets and flew them with precision on 9/11 is also a conspiracy theory.
If people knew the real history behind changes in law, the central bank, the IRS, FDA, FTC, NCAHF, NIH, and the other manipulated concepts and departments and affiliates that make up our current government and it's associated complex, my conspiracy theory would be far better than the one offered by "officials".
You have just heard this from the keyboard of an actual conspiracy theorist.
