I've encountered broken mercury lights in my place of work, which I'm sure has been horrible for me. But I can't not work, so I'm not going to stress too much about it. I can change my job to reduce my exporuse to the bulbs, as I'm working on. I'll still be in the vicinity of the area where these bulbs broke. Thankfully they haven't broken on any carpets, yet.

If you think deeper, it's fairly irresponsible to mass sell these bulbs as the average person who doesn't recycle even aluminum cans will buy them to save on electric bills. They'll pay no attention to the warning labels, and toss them into the trash just as they would a normal bulb. Not maliciously, there just isn't enough education on the issue. Of course this will further propogate the circulation of mercury into our daily environment. Wanna make a bet the elites planned it this way? Some days I wonder why even bother.
