I started going for some acupuncture treatments and am worried that they may stir up the mercury in my system. Right after I go, I can feel my tight muscles open up and I have more energy, the brain fog decreases - it is great. But this week, I could not sleep that night - the next day I had decent energy - but today I completely crashed. My symptoms were worse than ever. I know that I read that mercury blocks the acupuncture meridians. Has anyone else tried acupuncture for symptom relief, or do you have any advice regarding acupuncture and mercury toxicity? Thanks.

Hi Andrea, i tried it last year and it made me worse, my tinnitus went through the roof and i was shaking from head to toe. I didnt go back for the next 10 treatments they suggested. I enjoyed the massage though!

It may depend on the person that you are seeing for acupuncture, and if they are really specialized in what they do.
I am seeing a local acupuncture doctor and he is excellent. I feel so much better (in the long run). He helps the worn out organs properly function again. My kidneys are bad because they are connected with the feeling of fear according to the Chinese medicine. I am about 70% better since I started seeing him a year and a half ago and following his advice.
I firmly believe that I would have not made it as I was so sick and skinny I could hardly stay on my feet. The detox was killing me. Although the supplements such as Algin helped greatly, I really needed someone to fix the damage already done to my internal organs by mercury which is well known to stay put and slowly eat you alive! At least that's how it felt..
So acupunture and macrobiotics is a way to go! - may not be true for everyone, but great results with me.

Nina, I'm really glad that it helped you. Like you, I am really skinny and and very lightheaded/dizzy when standing. So far I've been through 4 acupuncture sessions. Right after a session I feel like my muscles are opened up and I have more energy. But the effects were short lived - only lasted a day or two. Since the last session on Thursday, I feel less foggy than I did and a little more connected to others. So for now I will keep going with it. The weird thing was that after the last session my hand swelled where she had one of the needles. She said that it burst a vein or something (it was like a bruise - bleeding under the skin but I did not see any red). It scared me a bit because of the swelling, but I will be going back. I decided I would give this at least six sessions to see.
