Hi Jinx, no problem. Yeah the issue is you won't know because you still have amalgams and in doing chelation it's risky.. I know some people do it though and some claims it's helped and enabled them to get some improvement to where they are actually able to get the amalgams out.

It's one thing being ill with mercury in one way, it's another when it's driving you crazy and causing you to have trouble even functioning.

I had to watch my diet with DMSA< because yeah chelation can flare up candida and it can feed it. So my diet had to be worked on at the sametime, or I got into trouble.

But at any rate, yes using the DMSA can make you feel worse as the round continues because of the detoxing going on, and brain fog is one of those problems. It may not be much consolation, but I've had that happen with myself on rounds and I dont' have amalgams! Sometimes taking the DMSA even more often (every 3 hours instead of 4) can improve that for some people. The real annoyance to this is having to wake up at night to take doses. setting the alarm and making sure you remember to do it.

Put it this way, it's definitely proved you have mercury and that mercury must be in areas the DMSA can get, or it would not show any of those symptoms. DMSA cannot really pass the Blood brain barrier to any clincial degree, unlike alpha lipoic acid. But you can definitely get brain fog, and candida can cause that as you know, but the candida that flares up a bit from chelation is one of those things sometimes that one has to tolerate in order to move out some mercury. Controlling things with diet is essential, but it doesn't always completely stop it.

Again though, it's the fact you still have amalgams that concerns me with chelation. I just hope you can manage to make it with getting them out soon. Also splitting up DMSA capsules into smaller amounts may help, but when you're in such a state as you are, the last thing you want or need is to sit there doing that.

You obviously need things to be as easy as possible when you're suffering this, or you just can't cope. 25 mg is a pretty reasonable dose, and a pretty stable one in my opinion, but yeah there are some people out there that are taking as low as 6 mg every 4 hours, so some really have to start at tiny doses.
