hi everyone. i am still suffering from removal of my 9 amalgams 9 months ago. i have never detoxed and have just been able to pull myself out of bed to get all these testings done. i'm awaiting my hair tests for metals to come back. my blood tests show i'm very vitamin D defient. don't know how that happened, but i guess the metals have screwed up everything in my body. my horrible issues are: anxiety, tremors, skin hives, racing heartbeat, muscle twitching, my vision has gotten bad and brain fog. i have this pale look to my face and my tongue is white.

I had the same symptoms and then some. I went on a very strict anti-inflammatory diet and found immediate relief. I just started metals detoxing last month, but my doctor uses this diet for his mercury patients, as well as his problems with yeast overgrowth from metals toxicity: Anti-inflammatory/Candida diet Foods To Eat MEATS (Should be free of antibiotics, nitrates, preservatives & Hormones)Beef ChickenFish (eat moderately because of metals)LambTurkey OILS (Cold-pressed)Flaxseed (not used for cooking)Olive Oil (good to cook with)Sesame Oil (not used for cooking)Sunflower Oil (not used for cooking) GRAINS (Whole - not refined)Amaranth*BarleyBrown RiceBuckwheatMillet*OatsPasta (whole grains that are not wheat)Quinoa*Rye*If gluten intolerant stay away from barley, oats, rye, spelt NUTS & SEEDS (Raw)AlmondsBrazilChestnutsHazelnutsMacadamiaPecansPumpkin SeedsSesame SeedsSunflowerWalnuts DAIRY (Antibiotic & Hormone Free)ButterEggs VEGETABLES*All (except mushrooms)Moderate potato (1-2/x wk) CONDIMENTSFresh herbs (i.e. basil, parsley, etc.)Dry MustardPepperSea saltSpices (without additives, sugar, MSG, etc.)NutmegGarlicgingerLemons/limes DRINKSWater - filteredHerbal Teas (red clover, peppermint, etc.)Mineral water w/no sugar (Perrier, etc.)Rice MilkFresh-squeezed lemon juice BEANS, Peas & LEGUMES*All (except fermented soy products, i.e. miso, tempeh) *Good to eliminate this group for the first month - then eat only 3x/week MISCELLANEOUSCarob - unsweetenedSalsa (fresh w/ no vinegar or sugar) FRUITS (1 per day)Apples (granny smith - peeled)BlueberriesCoconut*Grapefruit*Lemons/Limes SWEETENERSStevia · Stay away from common allergen foods if presenting multiple allergy symptoms (citrus fruits, corn, milk, tomatoes, wheat)· You may get IgG blood test from most doctors for delayed food allergies to find out if any of these foods offend your system. Many doctors also give stool tests to determine candida, parasite and metals toxin content, but few doctors, except candida doctors can adequately read the results because of their bias against the concept of inflammation-related problems.· If you can?t afford the tests, eliminate foods if you detect that you react poorly to them by doing the food-elimination diet periodically.· Follow the rotational diet plan, because you may develop allergies if you rely on one food source too much.· To develop perspective on your diet, eat 20 percent meat, 80 percent vegetables, and less than 100 grams of carbs a day.· Also, meal proportions should be small. For perspective: If your combined servings at one meal are too big to fit in the palm of your hand, then you are overeating.· Try to eat organic.· Drink 6-8 glasses of water per day, spacing the water out for maximum hydration: two glasses in morning, one mid morning. Two glasses after lunch, one after dinner, and one before bed. If you are new to the candida diet and experiencing die-off from killing the candida with the diet, then you should drink a half glass of water every hour to purge your system of toxins. It is not surprising that these novel foods, being nightshades, were regarded with suspicion at first and were slow to take hold in the European diet. They all contain nicotine in some form, although it may be named solanine (potatoes), tomatine (tomatoes), alpha-solanine (aubergine) or solanadine (chillies and capsicums). It is now apparent that there are groups of people who cannot tolerate nightshades in their diets, wish to avoid them anyway or find that eliminating them helps alleviate a variety of mental, emotional and physical problems. The following groups of people avoid nightshades. People with arthritis - Some researchers believe that arthritis is misdiagnosed in people who are in fact just suffering joint aches and swelling arising from consumption of nightshades. One in three arthritics react badly to nightshades. These individuals frequently have a sensitivity to the solanine chemicals present in these foods. It can take up to six months of exclusion of nightshades from the diet to achieve a beneficial effect. Macrobiotics - since the 1960s, the macrobiotic diet has recommended avoidance of all nightshades. This proven diet for health and longevity is followed by celebrities such as Sadie Frost, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin of Coldplay and Madonna. Children with eczema - for some children the elimination of nightshades from the diet helps clear eczema, particularly around the mouth. Gastro Esophogal Reflux disease - consumption of nightshade vegetables, particularly tomatoes, can causes a reaction where the stomach contents are pushed back up the esophagus towards the throat with symptoms of heartburn, chest pain, choking while lying down and asthma symptoms when sleeping. Those quitting smoking - some programmes to help people give up cigarettes also recommend giving up nightshade foods in order to completely eliminate low level nicotine intake and consequent re-addiction. Blood group diet - Dr. Peter d'Adamo's Blood Type Diet recommends people of blood types A and B to avoid all nightshade foods. This represents about half the population of most European countries. Cystitis, lupus, psoriasis - giving up nightshades can help relieve symptoms of cystitis, lupus and psoriasis." Tests that help you determine roll of inflammation associated with candida in your health problems: IgG test available through any doctor will expose any delayed food allergies that may be keeping you from making progress. Comprehensive stool test Any doctor can order it, but only a doctor knowledgeable about the ills of inflammation can properly read it. Great Smoky Mountains Daignostic Lab: http://www.gsdl.com/home/news/connections/vol9/conn20000906-p.html.Metals Toxicity Stool test available from Doctor?s Data Inc.: http://www.doctorsdata.com/. Any doctor can order the test, but doctors knowledgeable about the ills of inflammation are the most qualified to interpret the data. Where to find simple, healthy, anti-inflammatory recipes: The Yeast Connection Cookbook Best Advice: I know I've got a bad doctor when he doesn't see my symptoms as an inflammatory response and tries to treat the symptoms individually, or dismisses them as no big deal when I'm in obvious pain or discomfort, or can't work or can't poop or keep food down. I boil it down to this: Find a good doctor who understands that your symptoms are related, that they are an inflammatory response, not just a bunch of separate symptoms he can use to generate tests and boost pharmaceutical sales ? and seem like he knows what he's doing. This would be, preferably, an MD, who acknowledges the intense inflammatory response of some patients. But it can also be a naturalist, homeopathic physician, traditional Chinese medical doctor, chiropracter or alternative doctor. Conventional doctors can't help your problem because they can't even bring themselves to admit the limits of their training. They are outclassed by a growing group of patients presenting allergies to inflammatory foods such as wheat, sugar and dairy, and environmental allergens, such as fragrances, pesticides, metals and smoke. Don't fall into the doctors' trap of treating each symptom separately when it is so clear they are all inflammation related. Treat them all at once by building your immune system and cutting out inflammatory foods and stress. Ask yourself this: if your doctor doesn't know the origin of all your symptoms, and how they interrelate with diet, how can he suggest drugs and surgeries for it?

Here's my detox protocol my doctor put me on last month: My results show that I'm almost off the chart (in the 98th percentile on mercury and thallium toxicity, and have abnormal toxicity in ten other metals, such as lead, uranium, arsenic and copper). My doctor's advice on how to treat : Heel Detox-Kit, which includes nux vomica-homaccord 50ml, lymphomyosot 50 ml and berberis hommaccord 50ml. These are oral drops. I'm to take ten drops from each separate bottle (three per kit) after every meal. He sold me three kits to take three weeks apart. The doc also put me on flucanazole (oral prescription antifungal for candida overgrowth), and some thyroid medicine, and one hell of a multivitamin concoction that comes in a powder and has everything in it. He had the vitamin specially prepared for his clinic. Also, he put me on Curcumin with bioperine for inflammation, NAC 900, Calcium, Vitamin E 400, Arctic cod liver oil (metals free) and iron for an iron deficiency, alpha lipoic acid, methyl b12 injections and extra vitamin C. Keep in mind though that this protocol also includes treatment for thyroid problems, systemic yeast and an iron deficiency and high oxidative stress, all diagnosed with extensive, targeted testing and analysis by a trained MD.

hey lana, today i took a multi vitamin...solgar VM -75 and a vitamin D3 - 5000 (since i'm very vitamin D defient.).i'm nervous to begin with, so whatever i take makes it worse as far as anxiety goes. my tongue is that lovely color of white too. how are you?? Anxiety is really there for a reason, to make you act, to make you fix whatever problem you're having. Your body is producing anxiety to kick us both in the butt. I'm feeling like I'm being kicked in the butt. Ifind that the methly b12 injections, however, are great for anxiety, mainly because they help you digest food. But they are also known as an antidepressant becaus they lift your spirits. I'm upset today because i had to deal with the medical monkeys at my primary care providers office who missed my metals toxicity to begin with. They acted like if they don't test for it, it must not be a problem, and they don't know where you go to get tested for it. That's so discomforting to know that if I died from metals toxicity, the forensic examiner probably would have been just as stumped. So they did the liver profile for my specialist and acted ilke it was a favor. They're going to get a kick out of the note I wrote to them.

Hey, Janet! I am so sorry for the way you are suffering right now! I have been there myself, many times! It is scary to watch your body just go out of control and not be able to do anything about it. Were you this sick before you got fillings removed or did all this happen after? It sure seems as if the road after the mercury removal can be rough. I will pray for you! I have had thoughts also about MS. I supposedly have lymes, but it was determined by my symptoms as the test actually came back negative and undetermined. I am getting my fillings out in 10 days and it scares me that I may get sicker than I already am. But with all that I have read about mercury, I have got to get these fillings out. I will just be glad when it is about two years down the road! Vicki

Sorry to hear about the time you're going through. Most professionals are going to throw you on a detox program which will likely make symptoms worse. Please be careful with your detox program. Watch your diet carefully. I can tell you from experience that it takes work to recover, but it's like getting a whole new life. My life is so different than it's ever been, emotionally as well as physically. I will eventually add details to my story: http://herballure.com/mmsabout the emotional changes I have experienced in the past 4 years. I never in my life thought that I could be the strong, powerful, focused person with and incredible memory that I now am. I've been shy, timid and downright scared all my life, but now, suddenly (in 4 years time), it has all changed. Hang in there. Get on a good, natural, gentle detox program, follow a healthy diet and good things lie ahead. Not only that, but your testimony will be an inspiration to others and help save them from this horrible nightmare millions are now experiencing.

Janet, when I get sick, such as nauseous or achy, I have had a lot of success recovering with natural, food-based anti-inflammatory, antifungal garlic. I take a raw clove of garlic, chop it finely and swallow it quickly with a glass of water so that I don't have to taste the garlic. Also, eating raw ginger the same way is also a fantastic way to rid myself of nausea or headaches, etc. Sometimes I take more than a clove or sliver, if I'm feeling really bad. I really can't recommend high enough the diet I posted above, which elminates inflammatory foods that aggravate the metals toxicity. The foods you eat really do make a huge difference. I've had these symptoms for over a decade, before I knew I had metals poison, and the diet was the ony thing that workd. The diet is an almalgamation of the Hagglund and the less strict Yeast Connectin Diets. I didn't make it up myself. If you want to lower your inflammation, the most important foods to avoiod are wheat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, prescription drug and caffeine. In other words, stick to eating about 80 percent vegetables, 20 percent meat.

thank you again lana & others. last nite was one of the worst nights i ever experienced. i ate a littly yogurt befor i went to bed. all the muscle tics got worse and my mind was racing, including my heart. i thought that i had finally lost it. i will follow the guidelines lana, for the diet. do you juice regularly? i have had these symtoms befor i took out the metals on and off, but not to this degree. taking them out really put me over the edge. and it didn't happen instantly...it took a good month & a half. guess i confused my body initially. some of my hives are popping out more, i guess my body wants to despretely get rid of this toxic stuff and doesn't know how to do it. thanks for all of your responses. it helps.

Removing leaking mercury amalgams can remove all symptoms of mercury toxicity, for awhile. Through some yet-to-be understood personal biological cycle, mercury in your cells will begin dumping into your blood from your cells sometime between a week and 6 months after you THOUGHT you had recovered. This may not continue without breaks. These dumpings MAY become expressed through the (SUDDEN?) development of chronic or even acute terminal illnesses.
i guess this is what happened to me.

Janet,
I'm sorry if this is old-news but I wanted to ask if you've tried Algin.
If you are experiencing the "blood-dumping" of mercury, Algin may help to buffer this. Also, perhaps we should pick a symptom and work on it specifically and then move on to the next one. This is how I work on myself and have been very effective at it (divide and conquer).
The thing I have learned throughout years in the natural health industry is that everything has a cause. We just have to find it and then counter it (work on it).
Would really like to see you get relief from these symptoms and am willing to help if I can.
Thanks.

hi russ, thx for your concern. because i'm in this state of nervousness, anxiety, and now muscel twitchings (which really freak me out) I'm like not of this planet. today i am going to get a colonic and speak to the head of the place, who supposedly deals with heavy metals toxity. i am waiting for my hair anaylsis to come back, can't wait to see what it says. i did buy the algin, i have it. i took it once, nothing happened. i know i didn't give it a chance, right? i'm in such a wierd frame of mind, i freak out over everything. i just pray that there is an end to my suffering. i just got andy cutlers book, i read it...it was confusing at times. i'll let you knw what this colonics person has to say. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

OK, let's see what we can do... how much algin do you recommend i take? Start with three (3) capsules 3 times per day; morning, afternoon, evening. Try to take it on an empty stomach if possible. If not possible, take the Algin anyway. is it okay if i take that with my vitamins? Yes, but I would recommend that you take it a little while before or after your vitamins if possible. i wanted you to know that this is what i have taken this morning. tell me what you think or will any of this make a differnce. 1 tbsp of flaxseed oil (yuk) 1000 of vitamin C powder vitamin D 400 IU magnesium 250 mg. multivitamin 1 cranberry pill (right kidney hurts) should i take 1 algin also, befor i go to the colonic this morning? OK, this is generally good but I have a few questions... (1) What is in your multivitamin (please list all ingredients if possible or just give me a specific brand and I can look it up)? (2) What brand is your flaxseed? (3) Does your vitamin C have any sweetener? If so, what? (4) What is the source of the vitamin C (bioflavonoids, rose hips, etc.)? (5) Do you perform any other kinds of detox (special baths, sauna's, etc)? I don't believe Algin will affect the colonic but honestly I don't know so perhaps I wouldn't until after. More Info...I found information about your multi. Here is the profile: More Details About Solgar VM-75 Multivitamins and Mineral Formula Each tablet provides: Total Vitamin A Activity (10497iu) 3152mcg From: Retinol palmitate prep. Solgar VM-75 is suitable for vegetarians and Kosher --- This generally looks like a good multi but there are a few issues I have with it in the context of mercury toxicity. (1) Vitamin B12. This is generally contraindicated with mercury toxicity. Note: According to the Heavy Metal Bulletin, March 1999, some researchers [including Dr Hal Huggins] and the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology in the USA have previously recommended caution in the use of methyl cobalamin injections in the treatment of amalgam patients. They feared that vitamin B12 in that form could readily methylate mercury in the body, ie. transform it into its more harmful form of methylmercury - when methylated, mercury is much more easily absorbed to the blood and then transformed to mercury ions, which are an intensely toxic form of mercury. (2) I'm generally not fond of copper as a supplement in mercury toxic persons. (3) I'm generally not fond of zinc as a supplement in mercury toxic persons. You most certainly have to make your health-related decisions yourself and I don't want to influence you in a negative way. Nevertheless, it's important to approach the problem systematically and carefully. I generally start with a single supplement (simplify), then add another, and then add another and see how I am doing at each step in the process. This way, I can determine if there is a supplement that is reacting badly with me. This process is important to me because the way mercury interacts with different people is very different from person to person. In your fragile state, I'm glad to see you're in the care of a physician, however, you may want to search for research related to the relationship between mercury and B12, copper and zinc and present this to your physician. I know many mercury toxic people are classically low in certain nutrients like B6 and B12, but the situation is more complex than to just say, "Oh here, lets give you some of these things you're low in". This is a "new" subject to many physicians and you will therefore find a myriad of differing opinions on this subject. Nevertheless, it's important to carefully monitor your body and stick to common sense when reviewing research and information about nutrient reactions with mercury. Look forward to an update about your situation.

hey russ, ok....yesterday i went for a colonic and had the doctor do it so she could see what was coming out (yuk). she said i had alot of mucus and did have candida. she gave me a bunch of stuff to take, here it goes: AQUA FLORA-PHASE 1 SUPER ENZYME CAPS FLAX OIL SUN CHLORELLA TROPICAL OASIS MULTIVITAMIN/MINERAL (has lots of metals in it though) HOMEOPATHIC "EXHAUSTION RELIEF" DROPS HOMEOPATHIC "DENTAL METAL & AMALGAM INTOXICATION FORMULA"
the multivitimin i'm sticking with is REVIVAL multivitam and REVIVAL calcium. i didn't like the other vitamin from Solgar, i didn't feel good with it. so far from that list i just gave you i have taken the Aqua Flora, my REVIVAL multi and REVIVAL calcium and my NATURES BOUNTY magnesium 230 mg, BLUEBONNET vitamin D 400 IU..... the AQUA FLORA is making my hives come out in my hands (toxins stirring up)? makes my tongue a little stingy/numb. so what do you think of all these things? btw, after the colonic i felt a tad calmer, what do you think this means?
thx for all your help
ps: should i take the algin with all of this??

Janet, I used to get the muscle twitching too, but I don't know if it was because of the metals or the other problems I have or stress, so bad it would wake me up at night, and even make me feel wobbly. I'm worried about your eating yogurt. it is dairy based, thus highly inflammatory, and yogurt tends to have a lot of sugars in it, artificial or natural, both very bad. I have been getting a lot better by strictly adhering to the diet, and I suspect that the detox my doctor put me on has me feeling ill (he said it would), but I still have a lot more energy. I tell you one thing that really helped me was to really clear stress out of my life wholesale. I got out of a toxic relationship, and started focusing on my job and my friends and my goals, instead of putting up with someone else's quirks and character flaws, de-selfing myself so that someone else coudl feel good about their twisted life. I really challenge you to clean your life and your diet, because I really do believe my metals toxicity pops out when I'm compromised psychologically. I believe your body is screaming for attention, perhaps on behalf of your mind.

P.S...i'm still waiting for that hair anaylsis test to come back to see if i am indeed heavy metals poisined. Russ, is the hair testing adequate? I took the stool test, which really showed the extent of my toxicity, and a urine test, which the doctor used to confirm the extent of toxicity. However, the stool test was more comprehensive. I have to wonder about the quality of a hair test, when it was so obvious that the stool and urine test were so divergent in quality. What's your take?

janet, I never liked breakfast, probably because I test allergic to dairy, yeast and eggs, or because dairy and wheat are so inflammatory that my body hates them. But I have to have bbreakfast, becaue it is important to maintain your strength throughout the day if your system is compromised, and you dno't want to risk glycemic highs and lows that cause you nauseau and draw you to bad foods. Today I ate a rice cereal with no refined sugars (not even artificial sweetners or cane juice) and rice milk. I'm out of buckwheat pancakes, which dont' include wheat or gluten. I just love them. They come frozen and in several flavors. also, it's perfectly healthy to eat a salad (as weird as that sounds) for breakfast, or just some sliced ham or bacon. be careful of pre-packaged meats with nitrites (chemicals and preservatives). how about sliced ham or bacon in a salad? Also, don't be afraid to eat soup, how about an organic squash soup, for breakfast? I really have problems with b'fast and sometiems just snack on bulk bags of corn (made like beer nuts) that I find in the bulk bins at the health food store. I can also eat oatmeal and non-bleached grits, but seldom do.

Hi, Lana! How do you know that your body is reacting to foods? What exactly are your symptoms? The only thing I know I can't tolerate at all is wheat and sugar.t. What seems strange to me now is that since I have started to eat healthy and organic, I can't eat alot of foods that I have eaten all my life. Before I lost my heatlh July '03, I was in very good condition, physically and mentally. Once I got sick, everything has changed! I really don't understand it! Except that knowing what I know now about toxins in our foods, it just finally caught up with me. Vicki

I noticed that you said that you have temporary crowns. What are they made of? My dentist put an aluminum one on! I didn't realize this until a few days later because of the pain and swelling. I think that this was the cause of much of my pain at that time.
Breakfast: I like to make my own granola- oats, maple syrup, olive oil, walnuts, dried cranberries, anything you like. Serve with fresh fruit and a little yogurt or rice dream.
Muscle tics and anxiety- true symptoms of a magnesium deficiency. I take 320 mg at night and again in the morning. Also, you mentioned taking calcium, if you are deficient in magnesium then taking calcium is making things worse.

Vicki, I have a laundry list of metals toxicity symptoms, all of which were lessened significantly by the no wheat, no sugar, no dairy diet. It has taken me a decade to begin to fully realize exactly why this diet lowers symptoms such as runny nose, swollen air passages, post nasal drip, skin fungus, abdominal pain, arthritic pain, muscular pain, low bowel motility, disordered thoughs and anxiety, etc. The diet works becuse it eliminates food stressors on my body, foods that magnify the inflammation the metals are causing in my body. It's been trial and error. For example, I ate eggs for years thinking I had no allergy, and maybe I only developed one recently, but the IgG test showed I am allergic, thus eating eggs is contributing to my "feeling bad all over" phenomenon. Also, prior to being tested toxic in 12 metals, I was eating fish like crazy. I guess, what I had to do to make it through all the hoops to getting healthy, and being able to think straight at work and start to get back to recovering after a relapse from the diet, was to continue to trust those sources I found to be helpful, and to press them for more information. I reread my Yeast Connection Diet book, I reacquainted myself with the stricter diet my doctor gave me, and I allowed my doctor to do all the tests he wanted to do even though my insurance doesn't pay for them and I am in debt up to my eyeballs. I just finally said "no more," and I'm glad I did. For years doctors said I had Chronic Fatigue or poor stress response or autoimmune problems for my intermittent (but violent) relapses into sickness, despite my being athletic and a health nut. Now my doctor says my immune system is not abnormal, but superhuman to be dealing with the stress of metals toxicity and resultant systemic candida.

Thanks, Lana for the information. When I would hear the word allergies, I just kind of assumed that meant some kind of rash or reaction or something like that. I have certain foods for sure that cause my symptoms to increase and intensify. So that would be considered allergies, right? Since I have started eating organic and drinking pure water it seems like I can't eat the things I used to eat. I used to have a constant runny nose which I don't have any more. I also have a calmer digestive system which is functioning well and for many years I suffered with colon problems being constipated for days and then going into what I called 'attacks' that would lead to diarreah. Never thought about those things coming from metals or even the food I ate. I am happy to be eating the way I do and actually my body craves the 'good' stuff at this point. I really never want to go back to the way I ate before, tho' I really miss cooking so many different dishes and desserts I used tol. It was my hobby. Thanks again for the advice, how are you doing these days? Vicki

To answer your question about zinc... You stated that you were not generally fond of using zinc supplements if mercury toxic. Why is that? Whoops; my mistake.I had remembered that zinc was contraindicative for mercury toxicity. I just did some research and found that my memory has failed me. Here's what I found. Zinc hinders copper absorption from the intestine. Cutler suggests taking zinc and manganese in a 20-to-1 ratio to increase urinary copper excretion. This can be helpful for Wilson's Disease. "Zinc is a mineral that is part of the insulin molecule itself. When zinc is deficient, production of insulin may not be adequate to control glucose, especially if you eat a high-carbohydrate diet. In addition to deactivating the insulin molecule, mercury also plays a part in causing zinc deficiency."It's All In Your Head, Hal Huggins, pg 135"Zinc is essential in the activation of over 80 percent of the body's enzyme systems."It's All In Your Head, Hal Huggins, pg 149"Zinc is critical in the development of all five senses..."It's All In Your Head, Hal Huggins, pg 149"Another extremely important function of zinc is the maintenance of healthy skin. Up to 20 percent of the zinc in the body is stored in the skin"It's All In Your Head, Hal Huggins, pg 149"Zinc is also important for proper sexual function" "...when there is a lack of zinc...there is a lack of sex drive"Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment, Andrew Cutler, pg 167"Zinc 50-100mg - generally competitive with mercury and copper, so taking it keeps mercury from exerting some of its toxic effects."Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment, Andrew Cutler, pg 167"Zinc is a mitogen [It makes more of the immune system cells called lymphocytes grow]."Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment, Andrew Cutler, pg 167"For depression, take 100mg a day of zinc plus 2-3 mg (2,000-3,000 mcg) a day of folic acig as these may work quickly. also take St. John's Wort + niacinamide 500-1000 mg + acetyl-l-carnitine 500mg with each meal and at bedtime, + pregnenolone with breakfast and lunch."Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment, Andrew Cutler, pg 67"Copper increases the symptoms of PMS. Lowering copper levels will reduce PMS. Excluding high copper foods and taking 10-20 mg of zinc plus 250-1000 mcg of molybdenum with each meal will reduce copper absorption."Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment, Andrew Cutler, pg 99Sorry about that and thanks for questioning me as I don't want to be remembering things incorrectly and giving inaccurate information. ...So, based on this and other information I found, by all means, supplement zinc when you are mercury toxic.

Hi Janet,
Please, please, please dont eat yoghurt or ANY other dairy, your symptoms are so much like mine and if i have even a teaspoon of milk in my tea they are a million times worse, Ive experimented on myself and the dairy is DEFINATELY the worst thing you can have. I also found that the flaxseed oil made me alot worse, i changed from the flax to evening primrose oil and it gave alot of relief. I also experimented with this and the flax made me so edgy and more irritable. Please try and see what happens i promise it helps. I substituted the milk with soy milk and the soy almost completely took away my PMS. It doesnt taste that great but you get used to it, im sure if youre like me youd get used to anything to help with the anxiety, nerves and horrible thoughts. Best of luck.

I've found that cutting down on dairy has helped with the eye floaters in particular. I've noticed that when I eat cheese or dairies, I get the floaters very thick. Because I'm a vegetarian, I'm finding it very difficult to cut out dairy completely (which I would like to do for the same reasons I am vegetarian) but I've stopped drinking milk and eatng yogurts and cut down considerably on cheese. Now I only have milk if it's in something else like cake or chocolate.
You could try vanilla rice milk and oat milk. These are what I currently use. I didn't do too well with soya, possibly because of aluminium in it. The downside is they are both slightly more expensive, but the oat milk is nice on cereals which are oaty anyway (make sure you get quality cereals, some cereals are the equivalent of eating sugar!), and the vanilla rice milk is so nice that it's drinkable on it's own and is nice in coffee (which I know is not good, but hey a girl has got to have some vice <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />) Plain rice isn't as nice as the vanilla, in my opinion, but the vanilla is again more expensive.
There is also pea/sunflower milk available, which I can't remember the name of now, that has the highest alternative protein to milk. I would try it if I could get it locally, but it is available to order. Will look for the site later.

I don't know if I mentioned this before in this thread but animal studies show a sharp decrease in mercury extretion in animals that are ingesting milk. According to the research I have, the reason for this is not known.
The same research also stated that caffiene better enables mercury to permeate cell walls; Also very bad. Of course, caffiene is very bad for many other reasons as well.

I feel for all you writing these posts . I too have had alot of these symptoms. I only wish I had found this post while I was going through the thick of it. I finally feel like I had a break through. I have taken out 4 mercury fillings, I still have 2 to go and am scared to death to remove those. Removing the 1st four was a nightmare. I felt so sick with also headaches and dizziness. It was awful. I thought my husband was really starting to wondering about me!! lol Anyway I did have them removed by a holistic dentist but I am sure I received some mercury during removal anyway. He definitely took more precaution than a regular dentist would. I am so glad to finally be feeling better, I found a natural (MD) Dr. I also love and trust so much. He took tests for deficiencies, and I am now on the right track. He also agrees mercury could be the cause for all my problemss(ear infections, headaches, dizziness)I also lost 20 lbs just like that!! (SNAP) I feel much better. The chemical smells still bother me something fierce though. If I am near a person with heavy perfume, I must get away immediately!! I wanted to post this just to let others know how much it did help me in the end. One thing I have to note is that the CHORELLA did not work for me. It threw me for a loop everytime I took it. My system couldn;t take it. I mainly take cilantro(for mercury), along with the 20 or so supplements. The key is taking the supplements on a regular basis. EVERYDAY! And make sure they are not synthetic. Go to a health food store and ask for whole food vitamins. I am 36 and feeling much better now. Thank God I found out about the mercury, I have the rest of my life to live healthy!! God bless all of you!! Keep the faith!! CJ .....email: talkn4fun2@aol.com (emailme!)

SOY is horrible, according to many experts. It actually diminshes your vit. D, and absorbtion of zinc, magnesium, copper, and a whole lot of other things are wrong with it. Before you ingest soy, read this from FDA experts who have been trying to help spread the word about its dangers. It's ALL marketing hype, but it's actually seriously doing harm. This is VERY compelling information and it'll make you think twice before ingesting soy [color:"blue"] [/color] : http://internationalhealth.net/TheDarkSideofSoy.html#fda

Is there one diet that is good for everyone?Who told you that this diet was anti-inflamatory?Why are certain fruits such as apricots and cherries inflamatory whereas others are not? If you eat 80% vegetables and 20% meat , that leaves no room for any of the other items on your list. Are nightshade plants causal factors in both osteoarthritis and rheumitoid arthritis?

If you read the posts ,you see that people are taking drugs, not vitamins and supplements , while at the same time they are very critical of mainstream medicine. They take thyroid medication , sedatives , anti depressants , cortizone , tranquillizers, allrgy medicine and more without a thought that their problems might be caused by some drug they are taking or took five years ago or some operation they had. Tracy's sister was taking all kinds of drugs.

Anon,
On one hand you're admitting some of the problems could be caused by medications, which speaks of your own obvious awareness of health, then referring to people as health fanatics, but then saying that they're not taking vitamins and minerals, but medications.... you are contradicting yourself no end. The criticisms of mainstream medicine are because of over medicating and many deaths have been attributed to this alone! I believe that mainstream medicine most definitely has a place, as does alternative health medicine and taking care of our bodies so that we may avoid needing a medicine answer. Unfortunately so much of us are here in the first place due to these trusted professionals. and now trying to find our own way out of the mess even just to control symptoms sometimes.
The "health fanatics" comment does not even make sense, in the light that people are simply trying to get well one way or another in the hopes of getting on with their life. Unless you feel that eating healthy and taking responsibility for ones health or trying to get well means one is a fanatic....? Then I stand accused. had I been a "health fanatic" in the first place, I may have avoided these outcomes.

If it was you Jill who wrote that post and that incredibly distasteful and disrespectful comment about my sister, who fought Asthma most of her life, with amazing courage and determination, you really need to get professional help straight away, because you are without doubt, a very deeply mentally disturbed person. No normal person, even the poor victims struggling with this horrendous illness, would have made such a malicious comment about someone with a heart of Gold, who has fought so couragously most of their lives to battle a dreadful illness, could have said those things without being so mentally disturbed that they don't even realize the pain it would cause to a greiving family. You have serious problems and obviously don't know. I would like to believe that no one in a state of sanity could do that because that would make you the evilest person I've ever come across. Every one on this Earth would, given the choice, would not have to rely on drugs to keep them alive. My sister had no choice. She was dealt this illness without any choice. Even on the steroids she had numerous attacks which left her poor body so weak. She cheated death so many times because she fought with courage and determination that most of us could not have acheived. I will not divulge to someone like you the suffering she endured through her life because of the Asthma, but if you had known her you would understand how your comment was deeply hurtful to a family that is suffering terrible grief. My sister would have been so grateful to have been able to live without medication, but she had absolutely no choice. As I have already said, it's easy for someone to say you don't need pharmecutical drugs, but some people do to survive. If you don't realise that the comment you made was highly disrespecful to someone who fought through hell and faced life full on with courage and every resource they had, then as I say you need professional help very quickly because you cannot realise what you are thinking or saying. My sister lived life to the full, she worked hard all her life, she loved and laughed in the face of such suffering. To make a comment like you did, when her whole family and literally hundreds of friends are in such pain, is beyond my understanding. In a way I feel sorry for you because some of the people on this forum are suffering nothing less than sheer hell and they must feel such anger at being dealt what they have and still they truck on and never judge. Jill you must get help. It is not normal to say the things you have. I hope you take my advice because none of us knows how long we will be on this Earth and you will end your life being tormented and twisted and incredibly lonley. Tracy

Tracy, I am so sorry for your loss. Having suffered a loss 5 years ago, I feel for what you are going through. My mother had asthma since she was a child and the suffering that you endure is unbelievable.
As for anon, they seem to get some twisted pleasure from inflicting pain on someone who is already grieving. Just a thought, there is someone who has been banned from more than one forum, because they go on and try to cause trouble. For some reason, they like shocking other people. It could be the same person; sometimes I wonder if it's more than one person (eg. kids whose parents aren't watching their Internet activity). And it could be Jill, or Jill is this person.
Again, I'm so sorry for your pain, Tracy. My experience was that the pain did lessen in time, but it felt like forever. I hope that you can draw strength from the caring individuals on this thread. The others aren't worth the time to answer their accusations. Take care.

Dear DANewGuy, no need to worry about the steroids. My sister was on them for about 30 years. The steroids did not play a part in her death. She died of pneumonia, caused by the asthma. She has had it before as her lungs would become weak and fill with fluid. Thats why she had to have the steroids to live. She has fought pneumonia before. I don't know why you are on them, the only thing I know negative about them is if your on them for a long time, your bones are destroyed eventually. My sister had to have a hip replacement a few years ago because of this. But as I said it was the lesser of two evils because her lungs would not have worked for so long without them. I wouldn't worry unduly, because as I said they didn't cause her death but bare in mind about the side effects, like softening bones if your going to be on them for a long period of time. Thankyou to yourself and Anon for your kind comments. Best Wishes Tracy x
