I was wondering about that with composites. But when they did put a temp crown on the prepped tooth I developed an ulcer on the gum right there within 24 hrs, and 24 hrs after the removed that temp which was loaded with resin, the ulcer went away. so i don't know. I have my worries about plastics. Cerec uses a plastic adhesive. Here is info about plastic allergies, no my skin does not look that that but I don't want it to either: http://members.cox.net/llyee/ncs_overview/overview_neuro-cutaneous_syndrome_revA.htmlhttp://www.drcarolyncollection.com/images/risk_USFDA_Fingernails.pdfIn this article about artificial fingernails, take note, that the product cautions stated as follows: 'The ingredient now is rarely used because of legal action against a former manufacturer of methyl methacrylate-containing products and numerous seizures and recalls of such products. Methyl methacrylate has since been replaced with other chemicals, such as ethyl methacrylate. However, according to John Bailey, Ph.D., acting director of FDA's Office of Cosmetics and Colors, the replacement chemicals have never been fully studied for safety, and they may be as harmful as methyl methacrylate.' - should also be applied to dental materials since they are one and the same, and dentists aren't telling you about this. Methacrylate is the primary resin used in dental plastics and adhesives and lots of people react to it. g'night!
